To whoever will take the time to help,
I had major trouble with an HTC Home plugin, finally rectified by loading in a setup without a PROFILES tab. However now the mail tab goes straight to MMS and it drives me nuts.
I've read all sorts of forums but can't identify the fix or replacement Home plugin.
Can somebody direct me please or provide fix, link, file, or forum.
Thanks all for everything.

I was running this dopod 838 pro wm6 link from here ... and I was able to use either of the HTC home plugin that were here and the UC from PDA Corner also, so not sure what your problem is?
I honestly can't remember if it had a split 4.2 or joint version 5 MMS, I believe it was the earlier. You might want to re flash? Or do a hard reset and tell us exactly if it was a split or ...

I got a new 8525 this past friday, and over the weekend I upgraded to the Sleuth WM6 variant of lvsw rom.
One of the first things I wanted to do and install was the google gmail applet which I used alot on my 2125 smartphone.
After going to the google site and installing it, well it seems to be very problematic and flaky on my new 8525 however. Not sure if this is related to WM6, java or the applet but wanted to ask others if they have had any success installing and using the gmail applet on the 8525?
One other thing I noticed is that when going to the gmail.com/app to download the app it seems to incorrectly identify the phone.
I figured that might be due to the WM6 rom or something, but wasn't sure.
The main issue may just be I have gotten the wrong applet for my phone, who knows.
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
No problems here. None at all.
It would help if you were a bit more, uh, specific?
What kind of errors? What does Google identify your phone as? Have you read that? Which one are you installing?
Some help here...
I'd actually advise you to set up pop gmail in mobile outlook and use that instead of the java app. I use to use the java app but it's just not as friendly as you'd like it to be.
I haven't really had any issues on mine...
What kind of problems are you having?
Phone is being identified as: LG CU500
Issue is with the app freezing up, phone becomes unresponsive for a very long time and then finally starts working again.
Appreciate your time to read and respond, sorry I was not very clear earlier regarding the issue.
I setup a free exchange2007 account with www.mail2web.com and then just set my gmail to forward all my messages there....works like a charm, and syncing with exchange just rocks
I have two small questions. Hopefully they are eay to answer though I have had no luck so far finding if the answers are here.
1) In the mail / sms app the left soft key is "delete", can this be changed to "new" as it was in wm5 ?
2) In the nice new HTML email mode I get my emails fine, but the images don't download in the mail. Is it possible to stop each mail promopting and for it just to happen ?
May not be ROM specific but just in case, I am using Schap's WM6 Pro 4.31.
Thanks for reading
Dave
hi Dave, firstly, no you cannot change the button back. Well not that i know of. Annoying.
Secondly, i assume you are connecting to an msexchange 2007 server so that you are actually viewing the mail in html, a lot of people made the mistake of assuming that wm6 would give them html email through their existing ex2003 server.
I am guessing though that the images in the emails are being seen as attachments and are therefore not downloaded until you say so. Maybe you should tick the box to download attachments automatically and limit the size of them to something sensible. Probly dont want to try this unless you have a decent data plan.
Hi,
Thats a shame. I keep deleteing my message when trying to send new ones !
Actually I am not using any server for my mail. I am collecting directly from my ISP using pop3. The message contains a little notification bar just like IE would saying that I should click it download the images.
Someone I know who has this ROM said that there was a reg key i could change and it would do it all automatically.
Cheers for the response.
Hi dmj1973,
I have done quite a bit of Google research on the pocket Outlook issue of not automatically downloading pictures, and there doesn't appear to be a solution. I myself have switched to qmail and no longer have that problem.
hi guys, i need your help. i don't know what tweak or adjustment i did but i started to get an email indicator that i have one unread email even though i have read already all. i even deleted all my emails and my email account but i still get that green indicator at my e-mail tab that tells me, i have one unread email.

Run the .exe from your ppc and it should work fine.

Thank you!!! I've had that happen before, and got so frustrated with it that I removed the email tab from tf3d A new rom install fixed it, but I can't remember what caused it to begin with. Now I'll be able to try new things again without cringing...
Hello all,
In the past week, Opera does not want to stay signed in/logged in to any website, including this one.
Example: I go to my iGoogle page, which should normally just come up, but I need to log in. I log in, my page shows up, great. Then I want to go to Gmail from ny iGoogle, and I have to sign in again. If I want to read an e-mail, log in again. If I want to reply to the e-mail I'm reading, log in again. Just to write this question, I had to log in twice, and I'll probably have to to submit it as well. It's getting annoying.
I have no such problems with Skyfire or the built-in IE. I haven't changed any settings, always make sure I check "stay logged in" if the option is available. I did clear cookies and cache about 2 months ago, but there was no difference until last week. The only things I have added lately were a few of brent's coloured icons. I use Clean Ram almost daily, have for months, and have soft reset at least once a week.
I have a Telus TP2 (CDMA), original ROM, using Opera that's built in.
If anyone knows or has suggestions, they would be appreciated.

I'm not positive on this one, but I'd suspect that Opera's "turbo mode" might be stripping your saved login info...it routes all website data through their servers, so there's a chance that login info won't be persistent through that. To disable that for testing this, just select the "options" menu in Opera, and then un-select the "Opera Turbo" option near the top...then see if once you login one more time, it still doesn't retain that for you.
Thanks for the suggestion, but it didn't change a thing. Had to log in 3 times just to get to this page, very frustrating.
Side note, the "options" menu wasn't where you said it was. I still found it using the search function in "opera:config". Maybe my particular build of 9.5.
Anyone else care to take a shot at it? Or should I just go to a newer version of Opera, and will it overwrite the existing one so it's the default?

Ahh yes I'd assumed you were on 9.7 or higher, didn't realize any versions of the TP2 had 9.5 as the default version.
As I understand it, installing any version of Opera subsequent to the one installed by default on your stock ROM will actually create a completely new discreet install of the new version, and the original will still be on there...that's what happend when I installed 10.
More info can be found on my signature link
Thank you, orb3000, however, you have more than one clickable link in your signature, one of them I obviously was able to eliminate. The Opera thread has 186+ pages, and while I would love to have the time to slog through it, even a search of it yielded no results for my particular predicament.
A hint on approximately which one of those many pages would be appreciated.
Like most people, several of my contacts have been linked to my Facebook Friends. Then if I use PIM backup or My Phone after a flash and restore my contacts, the Facebook "link" is there, but it doesn't update the picture (the picture reverts back to whatever it was before the facebook link) and it doesn't update the status' or birthday's. I have even removed all the link's, and started over, but that doesn't work. I've tried everything i can think of, but can't figure this out... has anyone else run into this and have a working fix?
Yea, seems like this is a problem all over. When I try to link a contact to a facebook profile the list of profiles I am given to select from bears no relation to my actual list of friends. Most of my friends are on there but not all, some have pics & some don't, I have old FB contacts who I have since deleted & even have 1 guy I have never heard of & has never been on my friends list.
There is a hotfix on the htc website but tried to install it & it comes up with "this hotfix is not compatible with your device"
I've been trawling to try & find a fix but there doesn't seem to be one & very little mention of the TP2.
Anyone else have some input??
Smells like a ROM issue. Did you try with the official or a different cooked one?

Hi Jackos,
still on the original winmo 6.1 as I've got loads of software & really don't fancy having to reload everything.
Looking around it seems I'm not the only one with this kind of issue.
It gets worse.
This morning I tried again, logged out of facebook via my contact card & then went to log back in. I now get "connection failed" each time I try to connect.
FB is working fine on the app & via opera etc & I've got no probs with email etc so it's not data connection or signal.
This is def confined to HTC integration of FB bugt I can't use the hotfix they have posted because it claims it is not suitable for my device!!
Any help would be much appreciated.
