Treo 700WX verizon internal mic question - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

I replaced the front and back shell on the 700wx . All went well when trying to take the componets out of the back of the old phone case. The microphone essentailly broke in my hand, BUMMER.. So I re-installed evrything from the old case to the new case with the exception of the microphone.
When completed I Inserted the battery knowing I had no mic. This is the big question. When the phone rings I don't hear the ringer nor will it vibrate.
Does anyone have any experiece with this. With the mic phsically missing does it not complete the ringer circuitry. Or. Did I not assemble something properly? I can play ring tones fine, so I know the speaker works fine.
I have ordered an internal mic hoping that it fixes the problem.
BTW.. Does anyone have any websites that sell 700WX internal parts.
I paid $42.00 I think for a $9.00 part. that a website was selling for a 650P which I hear is not compatible with the 700wx.
Thanks..

BT800 pulled by Fonejunkie, say due to poor build quality

?? Apart from possible time lag issue for answering call, I thought Jabra BT800 was praised for use with Exec (and XDA IIs) ??
Anyone heard anything to corroborate above?
I'll sell you mine. I used it for the first time today and I think my ear is a little small for it.
I bought it on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5827236759&rd=1&sspagename=STRK:MEWN:IT&rd=1) just the other day and I had a problem with the cover so I RMA'd it. I received a new one, which is fine, yesterday and used it for the first time today.
I have one as well.
Works very well, but I dont use it, so for a reasonable offer, I can send it with all the bits.
Jabra had a batch though thats all.
>>I had a problem with the cover<< - this may be what the company were referring to.
if by problem with the cover you mean the front cover came off, the same thing happened to the one i brought off of eBay! so i sent it back and got a new one, then the front came off of that when i used it for an hour. I put a bit of glue on the one connecting joint and its been perfect ever since!!
I noticed another strange thing with my BT800.
My customers can hear some of my ringtone when I answer a call via the headset. Now, you may think this is not big deal, but when your ringtone is the song, "I like to move it, move it.", this can be a BAD thing!
I have a Motorola 850 and this isn't an issue.
I thought that MS Voice Command was causing the problem due to the annoucing but it doesn't happen w/ the MoTo 850.
Now, the BT800 is supposed to be upgradable so I'd like to see Jabra put out an update to fool the universal into thinking it's a stereo device. Maybe then Voice Command will work via BT. (That is if my understanding of the problem is correct.)
I just recieved mine today didnt even get out of the box in one piece, faceplate problem again.
What a crock of $hit :x
I think this is a better option than the Jabra BT800. They both have displays and cheaper too:

I would like to see that headset on someones head. See if it looks good. Only thing I dont like is the fact that the OLED screen is on the outside of the headset so everyone can see what number your calling. Though it looks like its a lot better than Jabra.

Help! I need to find a replacement earpiece speaker.

I was able to get my Kaiser after someone at my work dropped theirs and since AT&T won't cover damage they ended ordering a new one and I decided to replace the screen which was BADLY broken but otherwise worked. What I didn't know was that the contacts on the earpiece speaker were being held in be the case.
I am looking to get a replacement 'earpiece', aka conversation speaker, for my Tilt but I cannot seem to find it anywhere online including ebay. So far I have found a few repair shops that would be willing to fix it if I send it in but as I have already successfully replaced the LCD I prefer to do the work myself. Does anyone have the part they would be willing to sell me or know of a company that would sell just the part. I have a bluetooth headset but it would be REALLY helpful to have the earpiece speaker working again since windows can be flaky when it comes to answering the phone using the headset.
if your going to do the work ur self ur going to need a soldering iron and possibly an ohmmeter (electrical evice measeuring electrical resistance ect) u would need to ohm out the speaker in the phone and u might be able to use a headphne speaker if u used a resistor with a head phone to get correct ohms for the speaker to work beacause u need the same ohms or it coul draw too much or too little current from the amplifier and the battery and if that doesnt work speakers in commercial devices are usually genaric made in korea or china u could try speaker from a different phon hopefully a cheap phone, hope i helped in some way
din,
Not looking to fix the component.
I was hoping to just replace the actual component, as I am not trying to fix the broken speaker or try to fit a different speaker into my phone. If I can't find a place to buy the speaker I probably will have to get my work to but me a phone and it will likely will be a Blackberry as that is our corporate standard.

Quick question: Do I have a bad speaker? Please help

OK, so, I got an sx66 off ebay for $19.50 (sorry to the gentleman I outbid).
Problem is, the speaker doesn't work quite right. I had a wallaby and seem to remember sounds being much louder than they are this sx66.
When I tried a test call to my wife, she could hear me, but I couldn't hear her, and when I did, it seemed like she was whispering and (it seemed like) my volume was down almost all the way (both volumes were turned all the way up).
I didn't try the headset with a call, but did try it with general use clicks and menues, and the headset sounded alright.
Bad speaker or bad chip?
TIA!
EDIT: Just tried the headset while on the phone with the wife; it sounded ok. I also plugged in the headset about 30x, just to make sure the little headset sense switch was not malfunctioning. It didn't effect anything.
HELP, please.
[SOLVED]
Got impatient and threw in a Razr speaker.
Problem solved for now, but I want a real speaker, or upgraded speaker. I already posted in market place, but if your reading this, do you know where to get one, or which speakers will fit, that's an upgrade?
TIA
In the photo's you can see an sx56 and sx66 speaker, and the earphone and speaker phone from a Razr. Also a closeup of the sx56 and 66 speakers (it would have helped me earlier to have found that)

[Q] Ear piece suddenly not working anymore

Hey there
Yesterday I suddenly realized, that my ear piece speaker stopped working. First I thought it was just a little bug, solvable through re-trying to call or rebooting.
Nothing worked. Strangely enough going via the load speaker or the headset, everything sounds fine. Just the ear piece in the phone seems defect.
Then I found some weird diy solutions like using your headphone jack as a drill and pushing and pulling it in several ways or using a tooth-pick to scramble open some stuck switch. But honestly I don't know if this helps or breaks my headphone jack.
You guys have any idea how to solve this - don't want to send it in (wait weeks and get an lcd-desire back).
Cheers and Thanks
Just off the phone (no, not with my Desire) with HTC Customer Service, who have never heard of this issue and just recommend a hard-reset.
Still need to try the "jam the original headphones in and out"-solver tho.
seriously? I'm the first with this issue?
well hard reset, nor poking in the jack brought any benefit. so sending it in it is then :/

Water damage, repairable?

My phone took a quick swim the other day. Everything works except when I make calls it causes tons of static and I can hear the other person but they can't hear me. The weird thing is with headphones in or on speaker phone the phone works perfectly.
I thought maybe the ear piece speaker was to blame, but I bought a new one and replaced it, and still no luck. Any other thoughts on what may be the issue?
Thanks!
One of the connections came loose to the mic probably.
Happened to me on a old school PS2 headset, I could hear other people and they were all yelling saying I was hurting their ears.
Took the headset apart and sure enough found the unattached connection.
them not being able to hear you when normal call tells me the main mic has failed.
Normal calls use the second mic for noise cancelling only. Speakerphone use either, or just have them swap roles. I can't really tell. The main mic is part of the usb connector assembly. try reseating it first.
I just reseated it i believe. I took the screw out at the bottom of and removed the bottom block (of course after taking the phone apart). Still same staticy noise.
How do I have the speaker phone switch which mic it uses? Maybe I can pinpoint the issue and then order a replacement part?
I know this is an old post, but any progress on this? My nexus is having the exact same problem. I've already replaced the charging port/mic cable and the problem is still there. Thanks
That is all I had to do to get it fixed (replace port/charging + mic cable/ribbon at the bottom of the phone).
Alright, I ordered 2 replacement cables so I'll try another one when I get home later. Thanks for responding
