Just my compact iv today... - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV ROM Development

Just got my compact iv today
and i'm not up to speed with what the latest rom is. I want to get rid of the t-mobile colours and stuff and get the phone running faster, just like to know what is the latest rom I need to use? i'm currently d/l
Diamond_HTC_Europe_1.37.401.3_Radio_Signed_Diamond_52.26a.25.09_1.00.25.03_Ship.rar

1.93 is the latest rom (although i think 1.94 is due soon), there is a stock version floating around this forum somewhere.

Which one for me ?

Hi everyone.
Currently i have root slide rom installed and i need to update it because t-mobile came up with their update over network and this stupid message comes up every few hours.
Anyways those are my expectations:
- Basic fast rom.
- No extra crapware preinstalled.
- Needs to have newest radio.
- Wifi tethering.
- STABLE
Thats all i need.
Any recommendations as to which rom would be the best for me ?
Thank you !
I think that if tethering is a must have, you're basically looking at 2.1 roms.
I'd go with Slide MR1.
Thats the one i have no now. It doesnt include latest t-mobile update.
Any other recommendations ?
Ah, sorry about that.
I think your only other option would be one of the X to Slide roms. Any stock based you'll probably keep getting the update notification and 2.2 roms are iffy about tethering (at best) from what I understand.
You might want to search through the Slide MR or OTA rom thread to see if there's a way to prevent the update notification if you haven't already. (Though you probably have.)
You want the CR OTA MOD 1.35.531...that's the latest stock slide rom (plus root and a2sd) with the latest radio.

I think this is a good choice also
Slide reloaded is good as well it is a re-mod of CR's OTA

phone update

Not living in the US and T-mobile UK not having the same phones the US has, I am in a bit of a predicament.
I currently have the Slide Reloaded v1 rom installed on my phone and would like to install gingerbread however I don't believe it has reached the UK. I called them and they have no clue that the slide even existed
Advice?

I think you are a bit confused here gingerbread is not provided by the carrier as an OTA update(t-mo in this case) it is a custom rom built by cyanogenmod's team of developers that you flash using clockwork recovery (you know how it goes, you flashed slide reloaded). So all you have to do if you want to install gingerbread is either go here
http://mirror.teamdouche.net/?device=espresso
and download one of those EXPERIMENTAL builds OR wait untill a stable version is posted, you will see it in the development section when its up.
Just wait for it.... oh btw the rom is CM7, so cm7=gingerbread for the slide... just in case you didnt know what it was

[Q] How to know a Froyo build's version?

Hi, everybody. Got an unusual question today:
Last wednesday I updated my Defy to Barebones v1.5 (did my SBF backup, don't worry) right from stock Eclair. I'm having ABSOLUTELY no issues with it, but today Motorola released the official Froyo here in Brazil.
Even though I trust my phone's life completely to XDA, I feel safer using an official firmware (if no additional features in custom ROMs tease me).
I can easily downgrade to 2.1 and update to the official ROM, but I have a specific need: 720p recording. With this mod I'm currently able to do so in Barebones, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to do so in the official firmware. As shown in the mod's thread, they currently support 3.4.2-117, 3.4.2-145 and 3.4.2-155 build versions.
So, my question is: is there any way I can find out the official firmware's version? If I won't be able to record in 720p (which is a indispensable feature for me, as a future vlogger), I won't update. The update comes as an executable (so I can't look into the ROM's files), so a database of official firmwares would be better.
Thanks in advance,
Gabriel

How to flash 2.2.1 (no root)

Hey guys so my GF just got a new warrenty Slide and it came with 2.2.1 and some goodies like wifi talk and the new radios. I havnt really been keeping up with the Slide so I didnt even know that there was an update. Any way my friend wants the update on his Slide and its unrooted on 2.1 or w/e it was released with. Ive searched a bit but cant find the ota for 2.2.1 .. does anyone have the official update file so he can update his? NO ROOT.. Thanks
the website is right here: http://www.htc.com/us/support/t-mobile-mytouch-3g-slide/downloads#320
make sure he/she reads all the things before he does anything. also, warn him/her the official 2.2.1 is more sluggish than 2.1.1 even though it has some new features, make sure he/she's prepared for that. if he/she ever decide to root with official 2.2.1, it will be more difficult and has less customization.
best of luck!

You can look for espresso_signed_040511_005057.zip, which is a ROOTED version of the official Froyo release, it has HBOOT 0.52 (so can still be S-OFF'ed) and can also use data2ext or app2ext features (I use DarkTremor's a2sd).

New T-Mo firmware T989UVLI4

So as I was browsing around the interwebs, I decided to check Sammobile to see if there were any new firmwares.
Turns out T-Mo released a new rom this month (no idea when because I dont check daily) and I would assume its Jellybean.
Here is the Hotfile link they sent me to and I'm downloading it right now.
Its not jellybean, its 4.0.4

Crap, okay....
Mods, you can delete this thread
The improvements are: "Qualcomm fix, Security enhancements, Vlingo S Voice improvements."
I have a stock T989 with the LI1 firmware... it's ICS 4.0.4. The new LI4 version is... ?
I haven't updated because I don't trust that it will be stable yet. I'm getting 36 hours of battery life (with plenty of use!) out of LI1 right now. I don't want it to get all fubar'd again.
samsung galaxy s2 Tmobile

Root it the same way as the previous version. The same custom recovery and busybox/SU installer files work properly.
