Weather
If you notice in the video on HTCs website, the clip of the Diamond shows the weather application wipe 3 times across the screen, however, on the
actual product, it only wipes twice, maybe theres a way to change this.

Hey guys,
been looking around about customising my Touch HD but a little unsure if a different theme can help me here, I really like the current theme I have; which is just default with some extra taskbar icons; simple but effective!
Thing is I want to add notes or reminders or something to the today screen, so I can view things at a glance without having to add them to the calendar, things like a reminder to pick up some beers on the way home, or a reminder to go post some letters or even a shopping list! Though I'm pretty sure I saw an app somewhere around that was called shopping list, would ideally like to be able to dismiss reminders etc by touching them then confirming or something similar, so I can check stuff off as I've done it easily..... at the moment I only have Call history and Calendar on the today screen; anyone know of a way to edit what is displayed on the today screen?
EDIT: I just realised this makes me sound a complete moron lol, I mean being able to add things to the TF3D today screen, otherwise i'd just use the winmo version, however I really like the touchflo interface just wish there was more customisation available!
Also if I download an iphone theme (just to confuse the mac fanboys at uni...) can I easily switch between that and my current theme after a soft reset or something? Or does it involve me editing it via the activesync?
Hope someone can help!
It might be better for you to install something like second today or touchflo detacher.. that way you can switch between touchflo and your iphone theme at the touch of a button..
or you can use the second today to put all the information you want on the winmo today screen.. the screen real estate on the HD is amazing.. and then map your iphone theme to another program and have all three hotswapping on the touch of a button.
Personally I think part of the beauty of touchflo is the lack of clutter on each tab.. adding too much to the homescreen defeats the object.

Agreed. I use 2ndToday & PocketBreeze, activated by the left soft key on the TF3D home page.
hmmm did want to just have it all there to be seen as soon as I turned on the phone, tho after reading more extensively around the internet I see it's just not possible at the moment. However I'll hold out hope that one day it'll be possible!
Might try that 2nd today screen thing, might be a bit of a pain to have to flip between them but hey... needs must. Might also look into properly customizing it to look snazzy as I've seen a lot of peoples today screens look rather nice!
In practice it's not a pain... it's a touch screen so it becomes habit to touch the button or slide the slider as you pick up your phone in one motion.
I did have a go with slide2unlock but it didnt seem to work properly, might have to play with it some more.
Is there any plug-in's for the (Gregory) HomeN Homescreen ?
Somehow i replied to this post in another post (white screen issues) just stated that the pocket pc verson of this program Homescreen thats virtually the same, i am haven a feeling this ones older tho, why theres no visual plug-in, be cool if someone was able to make something for it if even possible
I posted the following to another forums site, and while there seems to be demand for what I am looking for, no one seems to know where to find it. So I thought I would post here, since I expect if this doesn't yet exist someone here might be able to make it exist in short order. There is definitely demand.

I have scoured the net and various forums and just can not seem to find what I am looking for to use on my new Verizon Touch Pro2. It's gotta be out there. I hope someone can help.
I am looking for a weather app that can interface with TF3D properly and (here comes the hard part) also offer the text of the weather forecast without launching a web browser.
This really shouldn't be that difficult to find. I can't imagine that I am the only TF3D user who isn't satisfied by a little picture of the sun and the temperature. I want words, damnit.
I used a program by Tonaya on my i760 called Weather To Go. It had the pretty little pictures and temperatures, etc., but if you clicked on a pretty picture you got the actual forecast, which it had downloaded the last time it checked to see whether to put a pretty little picture of the sun or a pretty little picture of raindrops in tomorrow's tiny patch of screen real estate.
All these weather programs are going out and grabbing a forecast from somewhere anyway. Isn't there one that will let you see it?
Thanks in advance if someone can help.
...and hourly report views
I have it in SPB MS 3.52 ( didn't try it in tf3d) but Weatherbug free gives you text forecasts, just tap the arrow next to any day summary and get forecast text.
Tap net to the text forecast and you get hourly text.
i would like to know if theres a cooked rom that will allow you to have 3d touchflow just like the touch pro 2 does or maybe something similar as long as you can just slide your finger to get to the other tabs. im pretty sure its possible because when your in the contacts theres a feature thats very similar and the works the same way.
Dude... TouchFlo 3D is so last year. Not to mention, Sense is basically TouchFlo evolved. By this time next year, all HTC devices will probably employ some form of Sense.

HTC 's Sense UI _is_ TouchFlo... check in Settings > Applications > Manage applications > scroll down to Touchflo and check it yourself.
gezz thanks.......
Direct answer to your question:
No, TouchFlo 3D as in the HTC Windows applications can not be placed or hacked into Android phones. People would have to write a home-screen program from scratch that imitates / clones Touchflo3D (Manila) but it can't simply be placed on a phone to work, even with huge amounts of hacking and fiddling.
2nd: Why would you want to?!?! First, you can already swipe to the different screens. If you like Manila that much, layout your 7 homescreens so that they do the same as Manila. With the screen-filling HTC Mail widget, Messaging widget, bookmarks widget and Google-search widget.
3rd: The fact that some elements of the SenseUI look like TouchFlo (the bars at the bottom of the Album and the People program for example), doesn't mean you can easily but the same elements on your homescreen.
Write a program that does it, and find out how much work it is .
Hi all,
Question actually 2:
1) I checked but didnt find what I was looking for dont know if it even exists. Is there a standalone program out there that you can install and access from the programs menu so that if for any reason when manila crashes (which happens often) that you can hit start and then tap the icon to re-start manila? Cause many of times Manila will crash or hang and other then powering it off or taking the battery out, you cant restart it.
2) As for the today screen, I dont know thats why I am asking, I was toying with some of the editors posted around for the png and gui, and noticed you can compress alot of the images that appear. My question is, will it make a big impact to how the screen looks meaning jagged edges, ugly etc?, The reason I ask is cause since the today screen has alot going on, and being that manila is sluggish as it is, I was wondering is compressing the images or files, would speed up the loading process and speed up some of the loading from screen to screen.
1. You can use cleanram for this. It will clean you're memory and restart manila. Make sure you don't have manila on you're exception list.
Ive used this before. just saw there was an update thru the program (props for that feature). Just thought there was maybe a simple program that just restarted it. but thanx for the input!
anyone with any ideas for Q2?
Been using the MAX MANILLA rom for about 4 days now. the only issue I've been having is just GUI stuff and txt'n software prob.
EX:
1) the Digital clock will sometimes freeze (no biggy)
2) If I was to send a text on my device to somebody, it wont show up on the screen, I would have to change screens and then go back to my text messages to see it.
3) sometimes the device will show you have a txt when you've already read it.
Same goes for.......if i was to stay in the text messaging program and somebody sends me a text message, I'd have to move to another screen and then come back to the text screen to see it.
Anybody else having this issue?
Update here you guys. I dont know if its the reboot that fixed the txt messaging error or installing the ATT tilt2 keyboard fix.
But now my text messages are working properly. it shows up on the screen as i send it.
Thats great youngWMuser glad you fixed your problem, but it has nothing to do with the topic of the post. If you have issues create a seperate post to solve your issues, Thanx.
lol. sorry. I'm using Manilla and the thread said "today screen and manila itself" haha. That's why i posted on here. And the text problem still is occuring.
Rather than installing a program to take up more space, you could go to Start>Settings>Today, click on the Items tab. De-select Manila (in my case, it's TouchFlo 3D) and hit okay. It will take you back to the Settings page, select Today again and go back to the Items page and re-select Manila. When installing a new TochFlo 3D theme, I do that rather than doing a soft reset. It seems a little quicker to me.
Take a look at this. The "Things you should know" and "History" sections might help.
Just out of curiosity, what versions are your ROM and Manila
JCTerry,
Your right, but in the the 2.5 manila the setting page to get to all settings, still access a manila tab, which is of no use, but you did make me think of another way. Does anyone know what the CPL is to access the all settings page, I could just create a shortcut in the programs menu.
But I am still curious about the compressing of the files for the today screen, has anyone ever tried it?
