It's not clear for me after reading different threads...I´m using the laurentius rom and the HTC runs good but doesn't read the SDHC cards, I don't want to use other rom so my only option are the normal SD cards....just to be sure.
Thanks!
Yes, just as you said it, I use to use only Tmobile original roms and that's one of the constrains if you don't want to upgrade the card driver dll -which is by the way quite simple-, I used AD cards of up to 4GB (non SDHC) from A-Data and others.

Whats the maximum memory you have used on your artemis? I currently use 4gb micro sdhc without problem, but I wan't to buy 8gb or 16gb. Just want to ask first if yoou guys have used 8-16gb or even 3gb?
I am using WM6 and the micro sdhc patch.
Thank you
I tried 8 which didn't work
8 gig works fine and I use it extensively to copy data from work to home.
It works so well that I never think about it.
I THINK we can go to 32 gigs now?
8gb Sandisk micro sdhc works fine on mda compact III.
When you change the MicroSD card you have to take the battery out.
Does this hard reset the device?
Thanks in advance

No it doesn't.
Cheers
you need a sdgc enabled (cooked) rom to use sdhc cards. Official firmware doesn't support those cards. If thats the case all sdhc cards should work. I have a 8 gig caard. Soon 16 GB, 32 does not exist yet.

I have the original WM5 O2 UK Rom on this one.
I dont really need a lot of space, just a bitmore than the 256 I have at the moment, so 1GB or 2GB standard MicroSD will do fine.
Thanks for all your help.
I also have an 8GB SDHC Card and it works fine. But only with the SDHC-Driver.
Kingston SDHC 4Gb and Transcend SDHC 8Gb class 6 work fine both...
Hi,
i have bought a 4Go micro SDHC card which does not work native, i downloaded the artemis sdhc cab file and 2 dll's to replace to make the phone to recognise it, but i can't change those dll's (sdbus.dll and sdmemory.dll), the phone tells me it's locked...
Can anyone tell me how to unlock it ?

jc
Note : i use WM5
To all people of this topic saying that it works fine for them with more than 2 Go : Did you follow this topic :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344338&highlight=SDHC
and did you have to replace those 2 dll's ? And no 'read only' problem ?
ok, thank you for all you answers
A last question, when using the soft reboot mode, i get a red/green/bleu screen, my pc recognise there is something but i can't browse the phone, i'd like to use this mode to replace my dll's... any idea ?
Hi,
I am using T-Mobile's WM5(AKU3.3) UNI_TMO_TMO_HR_20041_200147_11700_WWE_Ship and I am having some problems with my 4GB SDHC. After installing the Htc SDHC and other sdhc drivers found in this forum, the sdhc card is recognized but once the phone goes into sleep/stand-by, the files in the card dissappear and at times, they are corrupted and I have to eject the card and inserted it again for everything to work fine.
Are there any updated SDHC drivers that can fix this problem on Aku3.3 on this rom version?
Thanks for your advise.
bump! Anyone can help please?
Try this
Well, if you want to stick to WM5..
This is the same ROM, but with SDHC support pre-installed. I'm using it, and I have no problems with my microSD (+adapter) 4 GB card.
Download from here (have patience):

I have the same problem. I bought myself an 8gb SDHC card, not knowing that my device wouldnt recognize it.
Has anyone, yet, found a way to run sdhc on the HTC Wizard? I saw a lot of comments that this isnt a hardware problem, but software, and still none of them saying an exact way to do it, or if its impossible. ...
I`m using the MSD WM6.5 Rom
;
someone said that one of the ways to enable sdhc on ur device is to install a rom that supports it - is there one for the wiza?

i've found the problem.
It is "hardware" thing, probably sdhc are bigger by ~ 0,5 mm and you must try couple of times to put card the right way.
By the way, you also need Artemis sdhc driver (cab file).
I've just bought a brand new 32GB Class 10 microSDHC card from SanDisk, but I'm having terrible trouble with it in my Xperia Pro.
The symptoms are that, if I move apps to SD (using the built-in method in Gingerbread), they will start force-closing. Files stored on the SD card sometimes won't copy from one folder to another. The terminal shows "I/O errors". Eventually the SD card will seem to disappear completely from the system. Sometimes the whole device will spontaneously reboot.
If I put back in the original 8GB Class 4 card, everything works fine.
I am sure the 32GB card is genuine and it works fine on a PC (tested with h2testw). I have tried re-formatting it in both a PC (using Windows and Linux, and using native OS methods with various cluster sizes and with the SD Card Association app) and in the device. However I format it makes no difference.
I haven't yet tried a different ROM on my Xperia Pro (I'm using stock Gingerbread at the moment, although I have rooted it).
Do you think a different ROM might help? Or is it just that this card isn't compatible with the Xperia?
Default [Q] [Pro] Problem with new microSD card
:crying: Hi see you have tried the re-formatting option this is good because first thing people start suggesting is re-format option lol. There can be a number of things wrong and I have seen many post's with same problem as you(and after trying lots of options it does boil down to a faulty card) Even when the card as been tested. Not saying that is your problem but it is strange your old card works and also this being a new card so untested on other phones etc.It would be good if you could test on another phone although this can be unpractical I know everyone as not got a spare phone.
Also as you suggest could be the rom follow the link below this might help
Try this option link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1010807 it may help:good:
With regards to moving apps to SD card I have always found using the app link to SD the best solution for me it as never let me down.Only thing with that you need to partition your card with minitool but it is well worth it because you can link apps with widgets without any problems.
Just a few suggestions maybe some others have some too:good:

A friend has problems with a SanDisk Ultra 200GB on Galaxy S 4 Mini with stock ROM.. The micro SD card is not recognized. Is that perhaps a formatting issue? Are your cards formatted as FAT32 or exFAT?

exFAT. Recently I have also used a 256 GB Samsung card without issue (filled more than 50% with data). I have been using CyanogenMod and Lineage ROM for a long time now so I am not sure if Stock ROM could be an issue.

Not possible on any S4 Mini because the maximum allowed size is 64 GB.

That seems to answer one question it is not the hardware that is the limitation but rather the version of Android software running in Galaxy S4 phone. I could not get Samsung to answer this question directly. Samsung official position is 64GB is the maximum.
I am going to test 128GB micro SD in S4 standard ROM (AOS 5.0.1) try and fill it with test data and see what happens. From your comment it looks like it would be best for me to follow your example and install CyanogenMod or Lineage custom ROM to use a 128GB micro SD in the S4 (that will be my next test).
It is hard to know if I am dependant on any Samsung features as some are not obvious if all you have ever used is Samsung Android. I moved to Quickpic app for local photo management but have read Samsung apps are better for picture taking do you know anything about that?
Can you install apps to load from micro SD card using exFat on CyanogenMod or Lineage ROM in Galaxy S4?
Are there any features you "lost" moving to 3rd party ROM on the Galaxy phone that you really missed?
I have used larger than 64 GB micro SD without issues even with stock Android 4.2 on the S4 Mini. My feeling is that the 64 GB limit is somehow arbitrary and originates from the time where nothing bigger than 64 GB was available. The theoretical limit should be 2 TB.
I have been using Samsung Apps as well as Quickpic and both are alright, maybe depending on personal priorities. Quickpic though is only for organizing pictures, not shooting them AFAIK.

Yes, but the amount of internal memory you are saving is only very small as a lot of data will still be saved in internal. You could use the SD card als adopted storage though, meaning you will have huge internal memory then. The downsides are that the memory becomes much slower than before and you cannot take out the SD card anymore.

No.
For testing I tried to insert a 128GB uSD and my S4 mini VE (GT-i9195i) sees it perfectly. Both by checking the memory setting menu inside the phone and on the PC by connecting it to USB.
microSD - Samsung EVO (Yellow) 128GB [100MB read - 100MB write].
GT-i9195i VE - Android Kit Kat 4.4.4, TWRP 3.3.1-0, SuperSU Pro V2.82
With Lineage 18.1 or later I can confirm 512GB microSD works without problems.
