Hello,
Have had my xda orbit for about 2 years. I noticed today that the blue trackball no longer has a constant light, instead it 'flashes'. I think flickers is a better word to use.
Any ideas?
Cheers

I noticed that Signal Reception Led is not blinking .
I can see it working sometime and sometimes not.
It is also same for bluetooth led. When I turn bluetooth on, blue led doesnt blink.
Is this hardware issue or software probkem? Can anyone help?
I dont think it has this function (the last device has this function if i'm not mistaken is htc tytn [hermes] ). Its only for notification like new sms, etc. like circle LED light on touch pro (raphael)
Light only flashes when it's told now. Doesn't flash for reception any more. For the record the TyTNII had it.
Mine flashes when I have a new text message or when GPS is on.
That really sucks...
I had a HTC Touch (elf) before, and it works nice to quickly see if bluetooth is on.
also when battery runs out (less < 5%) it blinks red, but not on this device...
could it be done by a hack? or is it just a dual color led?
thank man. I was worried that there is a problem with my device which I received 3days ago.

There will be flashing amber light when remaining batt level is below 10%.
yeah, it goes blinking orange-like color. but it would be nice if it blinks red when it is nearly empty...
why does they always reject the good features....
I'm just wondering wether the desire has leds, for notifications.
yes.
{filler}
Okay thanks, is it next to the earpeice, also the optical trackpad have any leds for notifications like the nexus one trackball.
It's just to the right of the HTC logo above the screen. I've never seen the track pad light up on mine.
as foner78 says, top of the screen to the right of the logo.
No, the trackpad does not light up.
Although the thought or a bright red terminator eye does sound kinda cool
Is it able to do diffrent colours (apart from green, orange and red)??? My girlfriend has got an htc magic and the led can make also blue, purple, pink and several others (she had to download a special app from the app 'cause stock android didn't have this option)
not that i know of, no. maybe someone else knows?
Hello to all, I have a strânge issue with my Desire hd. Specifically, the light on the touch buttons is on or off as it pleased, without any warning. The vibration is working but the buttons have no ilumination on them sometimes. I am running stock rom Android 2.2.
do you thin is a hardware issue? The phone sas never droped.

Nobody experienced similar problems with his DHD? I flashed an AOSP Rom (oxigen) and my problem isn.t gone. Now I see that when the light of the buttons turned off, the screen gets a little darker. The keys seems to go on or off as they please.

This probably because of the light sensor. If it's bright then of course the soft key lights will turn off, and if it's dark then well you can expect it to turn on. Try it out yourself. The light sensor is the black dot on the right side of your ear piece. Just cover it up and see what happens.
Hey guys bought the Nexus 7 about 2-3 days ago
is the LED notification light come on when charging?
I haven't seen the LED light come on since I bought the device
Do you guys think it's defect?
ps. already tried to turn it on with led notification app and still no light
Its only for notification and must be turned on in display setting.
For example - light starts flashing if an email arrives while display is off.

I just exchanged it today and LED notification is till not working. Can't even get the light on at all

run light flow from market. It has a test mode to see if your LED works.
Also you can set it up to blink the LED when charging and stay solid when full.
Mine turns on when I get emails.

Notification LED only pulses on notification when the screen is off. It pulses very slowly, once every about 10 seconds.
It depends from the apps. For example in Facebook, it pulses every 2 secs but when in hangouts, it pulses every 10 secs. My best guess to change this would be to either install a custom rom, or like many said install lightflow from the play store.

For future use, that's generally the standard protocol with any app where you need to test / maniplate the led.
I thought my notification light may be defective as well... I tested with light flow and it works, odd that it does not light up when receiving an email or other notification? Must be a software issue? On stock rooted ROM and stock kernel.

Hey friends
Today got my pro. When opening the tablet after lock screen, I got black line in the middle of the screen, blinking 4 about 2-3 seconds, 2 or 3 times and it dissappeared. Tried hard reset, didn't work... any clue what to do? Thanks all

Did you ever resolve this? My dad just gave me his tablet, and it has like a 2 inch wide column in the middle of the screen where a bunch of flickering black lines jump around. It only happens on white backgrounds, and the more white there is, the worse it is. In the settings screen, it's bad, but on the blue background home screen, they aren't there at all.
It's not a solid black bar like yours, but a bunch of thin, horizontal lines about 2 inches wide down the middle of the screen, almost on the mirror side of where your bar was showing up
