Loox 720 - Any updates available??? - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hello everyone,
I have a Fujitsu Pocket Loox 720.
I never updated it because Fujitsu didn't release any update for it.
No ROM Update, no OS update.
Can anyone tell me if there are any update for my pocket?
I would like to update it to WM5 or 6 if possible.
Thx in advance,
Kavsko

WM5 and above will never be available for tis device due to some flash memory limitations of the hardware. I think all attempts were abandoned. Sorry, I have one - still perfect working.

Yes, my Loox runs perfectly too, but he can't read SDHC-Cards and a alternative Driver is not available....

Are you really sure? That would be great news indeed! There's nothing wrong with WM2003 SE except for that new applications such as Opera Mobile 9.5 seem to be released as WM5/6 only...
Are there any news on this or some place where one can get some information about current progress of this project?

Black Shadow

Check out JJ's new Rom. Black 4-Shadow. Sweet!
Based on the new touch rom. Will be released by JJ this weekend on www.4winmobile.com. JJ is still da man. Wish he wouldn't have left.
Look out... this will cause some debate on here! Mind you it does look sweet.

its not based on the new touch ROM as the Touch ROM isnt for the Hermes... just the HTC Home Plug has been ported from the HTC elf... but as i have found the 17745 Release build has its issues... so only time will tell....
looks rather nice though... like the look of the home plugin wonder if it will be ported just as an install....
Just a bit too much colour custonizration for me....
D
I've just posted a question on the "other" forums about that very thing - I didn't think it would have all the touchy feely bits in it as well Oh well...
As a matter of interest, is it hardware limitation? Is the HTCTouch a "multitouch" screen or is it just a new app? From what I've seen in the vids, it should be possibly for the hermes to do the same things...
Smiffy.
My understanding is that the look is simply the new HTC house look - with some added JJ Black-ness...
The Touch software should theoretically work with any touch screen WM device as it relies on the user swiping a finger across the screen - which we can already do with Hermes etc.
Mmm... sweet. Where can I download? NOW!!
Alright, wait until the weekend. I will have to check JJ's new HQ to see what extra will be packed. I only hope the new UI is not a huge resource hog. If not I will just stick with 3.5 for now.
It remains to be seen... but it does look very nice.
do you know what is the CE build? 5.1.x or 5.2.x? (i need it to be 5.2 so i can install my wm6 hebrew language support...that's why i havnt used JJ roms so far )
in the 4winmobile forum, he states that the os build is "official". does that mean it's 5.2 (wm6 build) without the 5.1 hex edit?
EDIT
black shadow will not be hex edit to support crackberry as WM6 is being release next week.

i dont think that's the case as was stated earlier that the today plug-in was ported from the HTC Elf, rather than the whole ROM being a HTC Touch ROM. it does look good though.
Guess I'll be flashing the 8525 again this weekend

it still needs to be hex-edited for BBC to work... as Blackberry Connect is for WM5 devices only... RIM will be releasing the Virtural Blackberry software for WM6 in October...

anyway we can just get the cab for the plugin\theme, instead of a whole ROM? i'm happy with LVSW, but i want that homescreen!

Touch Flo??

Hey people,
I have been noticing recently that the touch flo is working on on various devices, but i was wondering if it is working on the hermes yet (actually ising finger flo, not button flow)
this link shows a vid of touch flo *FULLY* working on a different device
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hkwzBAuo2rQ
ive checked both web pages and i cant seem to find a definative answer.

No there isnt any ROM that works with touchflo for the hermes, only buttonflo, and that sucks I tried it once and its crap (as you know).
I searched and searched on every forum or blog or google.com whatever but no luck for the Hermes. I guess we have to wait to get our hands on the Kaiser. That supports touchflo (As far as I know. After a few adjustments)
grtz

I think the hermes is one of the best devices that HTC ever had. But the Kaiser is just a level higher..
So Kaiser will be my next device..
I don't buy it that the Hermes doesn't "support" TouchFlo. What does TouchFlo require that is so much more sophisticated than ButtonFlo?
If the dang Artemis can support it, why not Hermes.. lol

From what i understand it is somehting to do with the touch.dll, but i dont know what, why or how!!
but i do agree with you that it doesnt require any special hardware so i cant understand y it wouldnt work, but im equally sure that there is a very good reason as to why it wont work.
We need to find someone smarter than us to explain it to us!!
Exactly. Not to mention the fact that I have an app on my Hermes that does that exact little "flick and roll" thing and it works fine.
What application is that Stpete?

Should have touchflo working shortly, testing now. Watch the kitchen thread, that's where it'll happen.

This first one is from bepe's base. Still getting my feet wet with the new hardware. I'm open to suggestions
I would base it off the official release that came out this morning Matt.. In all seriousness, the other ROMs are going to be obsolete.. if you can make it with the official release I will beta test for you all day long.

I thought the ones JJ and sleuth came out with were better than the official? they have better build numbers etc, JJ and sleuth have developer roms available.
(if i am incorrect please correct me, i would actually like to know, thanks in advance!!)
the new JJ rom Black Satin are based off the official release of the Dopod 838pro rom that came out this morning... which is why they werent released until this morning since they were RTM .. new build numbers...17944.0.3.1 ...

There's still a million different OEM packages that needs built and debugged, a true TouchFlo function to be integrated, and I'm sure i could think of a few more things
But yeah, now it's gonna be how can we gain that extra .1 meg of space from program memory
Someone SERIOUSLY needs to get TouchFLO fully working.. them Artemis people are lucky, they can flash the ELF rom right to there phones.

WM6 iPaq hx4700 Rom

Any chance of seeing a hacked rom of Windows Mobile 6.0 running on an ipaq hx4700?
Kozhura, the genius behind the success of WM5 AKU 3.5 on HX4700 said that he will be workin on WM6 after finishing the russian build of WM5. so just hang in there.
I also hope to see this for US units too, that would be great. It's too bad HP discontinued the best PDA they have ever made....
Anyone have any info if anyone has started "hacking" WM6 into a HX4700 ?
HP iPAQ Pocket PC Hx4700 ROM
Is WM6 upgrade worth it?
If so I am ready to pay a small donation for the same. I am sure there are other members ready to do so.
Good Luck.
I've got WM6 (chinese simplified localization) on my hx4700. Will post it on pxdxa.com soon.
Yes, there are some bugs, but at least It's a WM6 and it's working.
So ... I think you will get your ENG version ... Just wait
chamine,
mind you post some drooling screenshots
Show screens? Why not ...
Yes, XIP files was from Universal's wm6 (quite old though) and IMGFS from M$ emulator image (also not that latest).

I'm using WM6[MagLite Edition,A01] on my AXIM x50v.
It's faster than WM5(wm2003se-like performance). and WM6 supports SDHC(over 8GB SD cards).
of course, it has some problems. for example, some applications doesn't work on WM6.
Well, it's confirmed...kozhura is working on WM6 for the HX4700 and in a week or 2 we should see a beta. Yes !!!! After what he (and his partners in this) did with WM5 on the system, I can't wait to see what he does with WM6 !!!!!

Sorry, it's already there, but unless you are a chinese rom-master (for whom, if any, I posted it) - I will not recommend to use my version, because I will not update it any further and after some time will delete it from that forum.
But kozhura+qwerty surely will release a more better english version soon, qwerty's mod of aku3.5 was really good so I think wm6 will be even better.

android on i780

Any project or ppl working on this?
Not that i have heard of, i would have thought it is pretty unlikely to happen to be honest. Probably more chance of it on the I900.
I dont think our I780 user group is big enough for there to be the demand needed to make it worth someone doing it.
i dun think so man, it is a great challenge to do tat
i really wait eagerly for the day that i port my i780 to android! some people got to be working on this

any one want to try this ?
thx
Who is still interested by putting Android on his i780 ? I am personnaly interested ! who can upload the rom ?
i think, the first thing we should do is download the SDK and try to dump it into i780 if possible
thx

We know that is some part of the world, the i780 is or is going to be distributed with Android installed on it, so for sure, maybe trying to dump these roms & to install them on ours, should be the first & best simple step, no ?
That's why I was asking for Android ROM as it should exists for i780 in some part of the world
Anyway, I just installed the Eclipse environment for the Android SDK... in the case of....
ME!
I would certainly like to run android on my i780.
The one reason i got it, was because of the touchscreen+qwerty setup, but the touch screen is pretty much useless as it is.... Well except from playing Lemmings CS, that is.
Bugs and a terrible UI are the main drawbacks of this device.
The only way I have managed to get sort of a finger friendly interface on it, is with spb mobile shell and the 320x320 theme pack. But it is not a todayplugin, and so "pop-ups" does not work properly, and it will go back to the WM today-page when clicking the end-button or exiting many apps.
WM was never made for a mobile phone device. Neither for being navigated without a stylus. I believe that is the main reason why it suck so much at both. Android on the other hand...
And from what I have seen so far, it looks nice. Me wants.
edit: Seems like the Koogan Agore was never released? A comment somewhere seems to point the finger at google an some google certification problem.. Still, maybe someone could mail them and ask nicely for the ROM?
I hate saying this, but is there any news? Maybe someone spotted some news on the web?
I found a video which showed two Samsungs running Android. The Omnia and the i780/Epix.
I'm searching for a couple of minutes now, but I can't find it anymore.

Looks promising indeed! Do you know how stable is this?
so has there been any significant breaktrhough regarding android and the i780
I had the wm6.0, then the 6.5 and now the 6.1, but I find them all to be much too unstable and to fidly to even bother learning more about them.
I did like the wm6.5 interface a lot and I believe android would be a class above everything else regarding UI
Also the guy on the blog posted an image with the android.
