Hello
As some of you may or may not know, the P3600i (a variant of the Trinity) is now able to be flashed for the first time, thanks to Olipro's hard work.
As the cooked ROMs for the Trinity have to be repacked, I was wondering whether it was at all possible for us to get a subforum within the Trinity forum, dedicated to the P3600i?
I only ask because at the moment, the Trinity forums are being ambushed by lots of P3600i threads, and is perhaps making a bit of a mess for people who own Trinity phones. Especially when more ROMs will soon start to get repacked for the P3600i, there will eventually be two sets of ROMs floating around for different phones, within the same subforum!
I'm not proposing a whole new category on the main page, but merely a subforum within the current Trinity forum, just to neaten things up and avoid confusion between Trinity and P3600i users.
I'd also like to put my hand up to be a mod if the subforum is approved, since I'm super keen on this phone, which lead me to push for the P3600i flashing bounty in the first place
Any feedback would be great
Cheers,
jon

Hi all
first of all i would like to commend everybody who makes xda-devs what it is!
i have one small feature request however, and i do hope it can be implemented
in the 'development and hacking' forum, it appears there is an awful lot of threads concerning development of customisation for our beloved handsets
and i realise this is still development and it is indeed in the correct forum, however, with the vast numbers of different threads going on, it is easy to lose a thread just from this morning 4/5 pages back!
as such, i call on the moderators/administrators of xda-devs to set aside a seperate section purely for development of 'eye candy' or 'customisation' which is of course general to all the handsets
i look forward to a reply on this! many many thanks
I'm surprised that there's no one interested in this great idea.
I was thinking about something similar, maybe add "skining" to the section title, or even "visual interfaces" (to host TouchFlo, and whatever is coming). Development and hacking section is just too poluted, it seems that people gone crazy after iPhone appearance...
Really hoping that this initiative will see daylight, or at least get any comment form admins.

Quite a good idea - however, you have to consider that every device itself has subforums that might cater to these needs.
I think it's not a bad idea though, as most customisations these days works across all devices, not just one model.
I'll suggest it to the mods.

I agree, meschle posted an annoucment on Dev and Hacking a while ago about what should be in there (ignored by most). If the customisations could be moderated to a new area, this would help I beleive.

There's so many different ROM versions, that average human being cannot say which one is the newest or best....
So, why don't create a thread named 'ROM versions list' managed by ONLY ONE responsible person?
It can contain links to ROMS according to date or version, when the newest one will be at the end.
That way the newbies like me will know which one to flash, and it would put end to all this dumm questions like 'which to install' or 'which is the best' or finally 'which one is the quickest'
How do you, guys, think?
There already IS a HTC Diamond ROMs list
But it WOULD be a good idea to sort it by author and version.
Any other ROMs would be moved by mods to this topic.
Exacly.
I know, there IS such thread, but there's lot of junk in it, so it's hard to find valuable information without reading all these replys...
I dream about PURE LIST, ROMs sorted by versions with direct links...
Does anyone too?
Can almighty MOD hear our prayers?
be careful what you say, me and another couple of members raised this issue as we got this responce from a mod:
Most importantly, just READ instead of polluting with useless threads in the development section
i am a member of many other forums and which have multiple versions of software for the same purpose, they have constructed a poll which is of great help to indentify the most beneficial rom for joe blogs. They also have created a better managed thread than the one on this forum for the diff versions.
Maybe its just a lack of management knowledge or a mods opinions, but something needs to be done, there are multiple new rom threads appearing each day, and threads such as this one will only increase is something isnt done.
1st post. New here, and should be finally getting my Touch next week, after years using vintage palms phones (Kyocera 6035->i500.) looks like lots of great work done by people here (and other similar boards) and I'll try to avoid making too many noob questioning posts...
There's been some great collaborative work over on the Polaris board resulting in early .cab and Rom versions of manila 2d ported from the opal. Looks like the future for Diamond like interfaces.
The polaris is a close GSM cousin of the vogue. I know that the .cab should be usable, but any current work on developing a rom or kitchen using manila 2d?
Its already on here please do a search before you make a new thread.
yea all the big cheifs are busy working on getting it fully functional so weve have much to look forward to especialy with wat ever vetvito puts out
o and welcome to xda

, Can't count how many times I've seen people write responses like this on boards (although not usually directed my way.)
I do not believe it has any thread here in the Vogue forum. Maybe I am missing something, but I searched back quite a bit. What is wrong about asking specifically about development of this for the Vogue?
There is a huge thread in the Polaris forum (which i was referring to), but the Polaris and Vogue are not the same platform. That cab likely will work, but I do not expect a Polaris rom to work with on a vogue, although porting it should be simple enough for someone more knowledgeable than myself.
Again, I apologize if this has been covered in another thread here, but I do not want to bother someone about a vogue in the polaris forum.

Thank you. I assumed this forum (Vogue upgrading etc.) was the right place to look for a new rom for the Vogue, as I had been following along in the analogous Polaris upgrading forum. I will look at the forum you suggested.
Edit: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398173
I am going to do the unthinkable and ask: what is the most stable, bug-free and integrated WM 6.5 Titanium-only ROM?
Ever since I first started participating the xda-developers forums, the whole Don't-Ask-Which-ROM-is-Better-Policy has baffled me. Why can't I ask which ROM is better? Because "everybody should find a ROM that's best suited to them"? Or because I should "stop being lazy and start flashing"? I'm sorry to break it to the disillusioned, but mostly everyone wants the same things from a ROM: speed/performance and usability. And no, I'm not being lazy by not wanting to flash 3 new ROMs every day, I just don't have the time; nor do I have the money to replace a bricked Diamond.
What is even more startling is the long-term sequelae of the abovementioned policy. Since any extra-thread discussion and comparison (i.e. discussion and comparison of ROMs outside their own threads) is discouraged, one sees the unnatural organization and discussion of ROM-neutral content being addressed in ROM-specific threads. A prime example is TF3D2- or WM6.5-bugs that are being pinned on specific ROM-developers. See, for example, this unfortunate incident which happend at the EnergyROM thread.
Perhaps in the light of what I've said I should rephrase my initial question: what are the common bugs associated with the current WM6.5-build(s) (21728/21806) and which ROM best addresses/circumvents them?

before the flaming starts...please don't ask again
this question is not wecome here....
don't be lazy....get flashing and fine out whats best for YOU!
thank you
Hi everyone,
this issue has been discussed for a very long time and to date there is no solution.
The Problem:
Many people are frustrated with HTC-devices (Qualcomm CPUs etc) and would like to switch to other devices (non-HTC devices).
Their fear is to loose the incredible support provided at Xda-Developers. To loose all the custom ROMs, themes, hacks and so on. In my opinion, this site really adds value to HTC devices.
Previous solution suggested: Add sub-forums for non-HTC devices. BUT we all know the problems (stated probably a hundred times by admins and mods).
New solution:
My suggestion is simple. Found a new forum with a similar name or take an existing one, maybe customize the design a bit so it somehow resembles this site).
Then add a small bar at the very top of each page with a list of links in a horizontal row:
Xda-Developers --- WinMo-Developers --- [whatever]
The "Pro"s:
-Everyone asking for additional subforums for non-HTC devices could be forwarded to the new forum. Not to any forum but that specific one. So all people with non-HTC devices would gather in one place.
-Xda-Devs users would notice the bar and (probably) register in this forum as well to have another place to promote their things (for example a lot of stuff in the Dev-and-Hacking section could be used for other devices as well).
The "Con"s:
-Main problem as always...servers, money, committed people (for admin/mod-jobs)
-Some may be annoyed by the bar (although it could be kept very small; 15px or so would do)
-And of course it is up to Xda-Devs users to help in the new sister forum.
But since I know this community and all the amazing, friendly and committed people that belong to it I think many will join the new forum and help with Hard SPL, cooking etc.
I really hope the Admins consider this solution. It is not that hard to realize and nevertheless it would help.
well istarted a site a while ago

Yes, I know your site..the question is if the admins are willing to turn my idea into reality. And it also depends on you of course.
i have spoken the admin here and all im willing to say is ive not been told that there wil never be some sort of recognition between boards at a professional level just not yet
i have a link to xda on my homepage already
I´ll wait for the reply of an admin, let´s see.
of course all i was telling you is what they told me
iasked if they wanted to be officail partners and the answer was not yet
I see another big con. It is all about WinMo, so there is vast number of apps which is working on almost all WinMo devices no matter if it is or isn't HTC. How are you going to deal with it? Make double topics on both XDA main and sister sites?
