Now that the official WM6 upgrade has been released for the D810, does anyone have any updated information as to whether it will be released for the P3600 and if so, what time frame?
I don't believe HTC has agreed to release it. Why don't you just flash hard-spl and a nospl version of it posted here?

I'm just being cautious. I'm on T-Mobile USA and developed SMS sending problems with the official WWE GPS upgrade, so I'm now hesitant to try a ROM not intended for my P3600. Perhaps if someone on T-Mobile USA has successfully used the D810 WM6 ROM, I'd be willing to take a chance. I sure would like HTML capable email!
Their excuse...
Hello Sir,
The network partner from HTC did not request the upgrade for the Windows mobile 6 for the P3600, that's why unfortunately the HTC P3600 will not have this upgrade.
Thank you for your enquiry, Should you have any other problem, please do not hesitate to call us. Your Local number can be found at http://www.europe.htc.com/support/csbyphone.html

You just need a setup cab file for t-mobile's settings here in the US. I'm on cingular so I don't have one off hand, but let me search for ya...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=42298&d=1182761296
I think that's what you'll need... And of course you can always flash back to your original wm5 rom if needed...

Thank you, but all the settings are correct and everthing else (MMS, EMail, Internet, etc) works. The only setting I've found for SMS is the Service Center Number and that's correct. Receiving SMS works and sending works from some some areas - just not where I live.
So installing hard SPL and then flashing the non SPL ROM is all that's required to update to the D810 WM6 upgrade?
Yes, however after reading some of the posts here I question if the non-spl roms posted are in fact, non-spl roms. I will make a proper safe version of this update to flash when I get home in about an hour or so and post it up...
There are 2 others posted, but I don't know that they are safe as there were actually two spl's in the release and it's possible the posters only removed 1.

Thank you, that would be nice for all those P3600 owners that are getting into flashing trouble.
Any news?
Did anyone make a safe WM6 upgrade for p3600 yet?
read the posts! there are many wm6 roms overhere.
Hi guys ... I will probably be getting a O2 XDA Diamond...
The O2 Diamond has a blue branded Touchflow Gui...
Will there be anyway to install the Original HTC software on it so i have the nice Black Menu?
yep you have to install a hardspl, either olipro's [which i think is unreleased] or the one made by the diamond project team.
then you can flash a new rom.
however, check your rom version in settings->system->device information
if it reads 1.34.831.1
it means you have a new spl that prevents you from flashing hardspl until the experts here create a work-around.
i hope this helps
Rory
On a related note, I was considering getting the O2 XDA Diamond but putting the black TouchFLO 3D on it. However, I've now decided to get a normal HTC Touch Diamond, because I'm lazy and I don't want to flash a new ROM for a number of reasons.

I dont think ill be getting the htc modell becaus i would have to pay much more...
Because of the o2 contract that i have in august i can re new the contract an will get a o2 xda for about 100 euro... so i think ill be sticking to this modell..
Please keep this thread up 2 date guys... Good work so far...
Well I´m pretty new to this. Im gonna get a XDA Diamond too within these weeks. But as mentioned the blue TouchFlow theme from O2 is really ugly in my opinion. So maybe someone can explain me how it is possible to change the ROM to get the original black theme from HTC.
What is necessary for that to work, what changes would that bring to my system (all programs lost?) and what dangers come along with that?
I appreciate your answers. Thanks.

c´mon guys, please give me some information on this.
Ok .
First of all you can take one of two options.
1) Hard SPL the device and flash a new ROM that someone has mirrored here.
Look here for Hard SPL ( Read carefully as not all Diamonds can be Hard SPl'd as yet)
HardSPL Here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=395640
ROM is here -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=394985
Hard SPL your device as per the Instructions then run the ROM update that you would have downloaded above . Job Done.
2) Wait until someone removes the 3G Interface from a Diamond (HTC Maila) and then apply that cab to replace your blue one.
Hope this helps
If you read the very first thread in this forum then you would have had an idea on what you was asking.
Thank you very much for your answer. So just to get me right. If i need a german ROM, is there a chance, as far as the new ROM version (probably comming with the german xda) is HardSPL useable, to flash another german HTC ROM on to it (if someone is providing it)?
And the last question, do i loose all my installed or preinstalled apps on my device, such as TOMTOM when i flash a new (other) ROM?

If its an O2 ROM then as you have an O2 device you may not need to Hard SPL but not sure on that one.
As long as you Hard SPL the device then you will be able to flash any ROM that turns up on this forum on your device. Please read the post I pointed out to you, as one of the SPL's shipping on the Diamond will not work and you may brick your device
And the last question, do i loose all my installed or preinstalled apps on my device, such as TOMTOM when i flash a new (other) ROM?
When you flash a device it will set it back to a ROM only . EG all the apps etc you have installed will be gone. TomTom if available on the device ROM will be on it as well (Although I thought O2 pefered Copilot) . If not have a look around the Forums and find a suitable TomTom cab for the device.
Again if you spend some time reading some of the threads on here and within other devices you will start to understand more .
Ok guys so hold us up to date on this.... Im getting my O2 phone in 2 weeks and I think I wont like the blue TF3D.
Ok guys... so is there any new information on getting the branded colour touchflow 3d to the orignial black one? Someone here mentioned doing it without any hardspl stuff via a CAB file or something....
ANy news on this?
Thx Busta
Here in germany it's possible to renew your contract through several online shops. When doing so, you can get any device you want. You usually also get a better deal than renewing through O2. Try if this is possible in your country and get a HTC device!
The only advantage of getting an O2 device is, that you get a refurbished device sent to you in case of a waranty return and don't have to send it in for repair. (At least that's my experience with the hermes aka. XDA Trion I had)

Whats the point of getting a HTC Touch Diamond then? The "fun" begins with cooked ROM flashing and since the Touch Diamond seems to be more and more popular, some very nice ROMs will be out in the near future. Can't wait to see where this is going...

Flashing to another ROM with HArdsSPL wipes out all in your RAM and ROM memory. it over writes al registries.
Also TomTom. A back-up is not advisable as it will not run, or cause bigger problems.
Black TouchFlo 3D Cab
for all the guys, they would like to remove the blue ugly O2 TouchFlo 3D skin, without flashing the Diamond! ;-)

Don't worry. I returned my previous phone with a Dutch T-Mobile ROM and they didnt notice. They just reflashed it / swapped it out....
well tmobile pulled me up on a flashed n95 and said it wasn't in warranty so dont want to risk it again.
My friend had 1 and when i flashed hard spl for him his was on 1.37
Just put that rom and the 1.37 stock spl and it will do the job.
Just 1 quick question why do you want to return the diamond? any problems?
returning it for the touch pro cant stand the crap battery life. Plus had a vario 3 and cant get on with out a keyboard.

SPLs are HTC produced.
No operator has it's "own" private SPL (afaik).
So SPL version 1.01 (random number) is exacty the same for all operators.

Hard SPL won't allow you flash any other SPL..
You'd need a Soft SPL (sSPL) to do that.
Basicly you take the Hard SPL kit.
Replace the hard-SPL nbh with a factory-SPL.nbh and flash that.
(don't know if anybody has posted any "factory-SPL.nbh" for diamond yet)
After flashing the factory SPL you can reflash your shipped ROM to bring the device into Factory condition.
okay so i mixed up with soft and hard spl...
so thanks again, now i got it!(i hope ;D)

original carrier rom?i think i didnt do that....where i can get this original rom?is it we must flash to wm5 1st then upgrade to wm6?thanks

Hi!
The radio ROM provides improvements on the GSM radio stack and this has effect on the GSM signal, AT command interface, GSM data modem (3G, GPRS, EDGE, HSDPA, etc...) functionality that is controlled by the Radio Interface Layer (RIL)
Please go trough this page you have plenty of information related to all Hermes related queries one may have.. Hope it will be useful for you
Just remember though that if something stuffs up while flashing the radio rom, you are pretty much gonna end up with a brick... You may be able to use the PDA functions but phone will be gone forever...
same problem
I have a dopod 838 pro. Hardspl by olipro. Flashed roms with manilla 2d and right now suffering the same problem like kahwah..
Tried already the method of flashing original rom then to the cooked rom but still the same problem persist.
Can someone give me an idea on what to do next..
Seriously guys, both of you, READ the Hermes Wiki and the Noob section, they are set as stickies at the top of the thread. I mean, come on, you have not even posted 7 posts on XDA-DEVs and you already are close to bricking your phone.
READ the Wiki first!
hi guys
as you can see im a total noob to the forums and to updating ROMs on the diamond
my htc diamond is running rom version
version: 1.37.707.1 WWE
date: 06/10/08
radio version: 1.00.25.03
protocol version: 52.26a.25.09H
i find that phone lags a bit and slows down especially when im unlocking with my password.
it also lags a bit when im activating the keyboard to write a sms..
so i guess i was hoping somebody could guide me in the right direction to get the latest rom update, and how do i do it.
i can see there are some custom roms around...so i have no idea whats the best way to proceed..
ive tried to download the latest rom update from the HTC site but it says that my device is not supported?
i dunno, cause i entered in the serial number located under the battery...
so im hoping somebody here can help me out..
thanks!
subs.
More info...
What's your diamond model number? It's under the battery.
You should look into HardSPL and then check out the official ROM's and Cooked ROM's and make a decision on which one you want to flash your phone with. Read the forum's and how-to's for more info...but first you should work out what version of the diamond you have before you go looking for ROM's...also, always HardSPL before you flash!
Good luck.
under the battery it says
HTC P3700 DIAM100
is that what you are referring to?

yeah, ive been reading that and im slowly starting to understand what i have to do...
i would like to do this rom update on my phone
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=423418
so from what i understand i first have to install a unsigned hardspl, any recommendations on which version i should use?
1.23
1.24 or
1.34 ?
i was going to use 1.24 only because i saw somebody post saying they used it and had no problems, but if i should use one of the other ones because it will work better then please let me know.
after doing the hardspl install i was going to backup all my contacts and then do the rom update.
am i missing any steps?
do i have to do a radio update before a rom update?
I use HardSPL 1.40 and had no problems so far so I havent updated it to 1.93.
I would recommend one of the new roms 2.03 (official or cooked, it depends on what you'd like ).

Install hardspl 1.40 or 1.93 (I use 1.93, but didn't have problems in the short time I used 1.40) hardspl and then install any rom you like. Just try to read as much as you can because chances are, any question you have, someone else has had it and it's on the board for you to read.
ok cool, i will install hardspl 1.40 and then that rom i mentioned
at the moment i dont have any questions, i will follow that thread that explains how to update roms and hope for the best

if you brick your phone, the only option left is to claim warranty.
And i believe the only step that could possibly brick your phone is flashing HardSPL, right guys?
I was in the same state of anxiety when I did my first ROM flashing. Thankfully it all went smoothly.
My 2 cents :
1, Think about what you are gaining by a ROM upgrade. If your phone is working well out of the box and your routine functions are satisfied, you are well off with you stock ROM. I flashed a couple of ROMs and now I am with my stock and I am perfectly fine.
2, Read this -> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=416211 and this -> http://www.modmydiamond.info/ And if you understand every single letter of it only proceed.
Happy flashing
i have a diam100. can i flash it to a WWE dutty rom?
thanks for all the help guys, but i decided to flash my htc with the original rom from the htc site.
for the moment it runs like a dream and has fixed all my lag issues.
so im gonna stick with that....for the moment
It's important that you feel comfortable crossing over......but I have to say, when you decide to cross, it's an exhilarating feeling to know that you can select what ever Rom from, what I think are, top notch chiefs here but also the fun continues by selecting which ever Radio.
Many post on here that say, "I bricked my phone," truly didn't brick anything. They just hit a wall so they panic. Hard SPL really does a good job. So the chances of your bricking this device is not as high as some people think..
