..:::HTC Rhodium SIM READER PINS DAMAGED - WONT READ SIM CARD:::..

I damaged(torn off) two of the pins from the sim card reader under the battery from the T-Mobile Touch Pro 2, while taking the sim card out (its a pain taking it out)
now it will not read the sim cards...
PLAN A) i will try to convince HTC to replace it under HTC's manufacturer Warranty...
PLAN B) buy another T-Mobile Touch pro 2 cheap damaged and swap the mainboards, or buy the mainboard if possible alone...
PLAN C) fix it myself by replacing it with one from eBays "Blackberry Curve Card Holder"
PLAN D) leave it on my desk until the dust covers it, and i no longer remeber of the phone...LOL..
so anyone else damaged the sim reader or any other part of the phone???
and yes, i will post pictures of the phone...and the progress of the fix(if i fix it)...and that is not the actual picture,...its a FCC pic. that is where the sim reader is....if i choose to fix it, i think i don't even have to unscrew the back housing since i can even see the solder connections with the battery removed
Hey, how did you damaged them? I have just realised that I have the same problem in one of my xperia x1. When I look at sim slot I can see two pins which looks different from the others and from this in my second (working) xperia. Now I am thinking how to get to them.
I'd like to hear the "ran over" story...
After 7 months of daily heavy usage
Nothing really, only a few minor scratches here and there, that´s it

SIM Card stuck

Hi Any idea what can I do if my SIM card is stuck inside? I can't take it out.
I'm using self-cut micro SIM. I suspect the cut wasn't smooth and stuck in the SIM slot.

Use a small tweezer, two micro screwdrivers, your fingernails, or anything small enough to reach into the slot and pull it out. Make sure the SIM is released from its holder mechanism or you might not be able to insert a sim card into the slot anymore. If you meet resistance trying to get the SIM out, push down on it first, then try pulling on it again. Chances are when you did the SIM cut, the edges were rough. When you inserted the SIM it went in fine enough. But when you pushed down on the SIM to release it, the rough edges are holding it in place.

has anyone tried dual sim + sd card hack

Has anyone tried using both dual sim and micro SD card in their phone? We know that the plastic cover from the SIM card can be removed by heating it from the metal side.

Yes, I've tried it and it worked although I had to sand the sim a little and cut of about 1mm from two sides of the Sim. I also used a double sided tape instead of gluing the sim directly on the sdcard because I didn't want to have something permanently attached to the sdcard.

You had to make me take it out. Here you go.
Here you go...
Below are the tools and steps to complete within 30 minutes.... The difficult part is removing the nano-SIM from its panel...
Apparatus:
Step 1 : Take a pix of the microSD Card serial number (if you care....)
Step 2 : Use sand-paper (P400 hardness or similar...) to thinning the rear of the microSD Card (not compulsory... but for genuine SanDisk microSD card, there is a "bulge" underneath the serial number. We have to remove this "bulge" in order to ensure the tray will not stuck after combined with nano-SIM).
Step 3 : Use sand-paper to thinning the front panel of the microSD Card. This is compulsory in order to ensure we can "easily" remove the SIM tray for future maintenance.
Step 4 : Use lighter/candle to split the nano-SIM chip from its panel. Allow 2 seconds burning is enough. Use two tweezzers to remove the nano-SIM carefully. Have to be quick or else the nano-SIM will get "glued" to its panel again. But you can re-heat slowly again. This is the hardest part of all the steps....
Step 5 : Stick the nano-SIM to the double-sided tape. Some prefer a drop of quick-glue. I prefer double-sided tape for future maintenance (if either microSD card or nano-SIM is damaged, can easily remove becoz of double-sided tape).
Step 6 : Cut the excessive tape to the shape of the nano-SIM. Properly ORIENTATE the nano-SIM so that the "curved" side of the chip-pattern is at the right-hand-side of the microSD card panel. Align and stick the nano-SIM to the microSD card as shown.
Step 7 : The completed set of nano-SIM plus microSD card.

However, better safe than sorry.... Just get the nano SIM extender below for less than 2 dollar...

I also make this hack. Sim and sd card working nice....
I'm on move........
I have done it and its working. But I haven't glued the sim plate with SD card yet its working. Took me 10minutes. BTW thanks all for your help.
I know this is an old thread, but is the only one I found relative to my question. I just bought a Xiaomi 11 ultra and wanted to know if this hack would work on this phone. It's got 2 sim slots but no hybrid/memory slot. I'm hoping this will work, because the jump in price from 256 to 512 was $200. Thank you

Sim 2 and MicroSD working together

I managed to work sim card 2 and MicroSD card at the same time by following this tutorial:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43VX5dfkB_E
and here is a most descriptive process:
https://androidcommunity.com/heres-...ds-microsd-card-in-a-galaxy-s7-edge-20160323/
I used a Stanley knife to lower the top part of the micro SD to the root so that it could fit in the tray, as shown in the picture attached . Then I stuck to the microsd with super bonder applied in the corners only. Put with carefull the mod on tray and tray on phone... and restart the phone. And now you have the parts working perfect together, i have two sims and a 32 gb sdcard at same time
Have you got a picture of the sd card in the tray? I suspect that the p20 pro would be capable of this based on the number of pins I can see in the slot.
