Hey guys,
I have been trying to install hand write Memo (program to write notes on today screen) but after it successfully installs, when I add it to the today screen through the settings -> today, I get a "failed to create file" message. I dont know whta is going wrong, I made sure its not installed on the memory card, and I do have more than 1.4Mb for it to run.
Whats wrong? Anyone encountered this as well? I really need this program!
Thanks

Hello,
My 9090 has been changed, and I reinstalled everything.
I get from time to time a message "Notification error" "Impossible to execute My Documents\Data\pCTimer.exe".
Has someone got this file, in the same folder or one else ?
Where should it come from, and what's the use ?
Thanks for your help.
Jean-Jacques
I really dont know what is that.. but sure you can try to backup and delete the file from Windows\Startup
The fact is I miss this file, there is no data folder in My Documents
Anyone who has got the file PCTimer.exe, how did you ?
Feel free to send a link or any info.
Jean-Jacques
Did a hardboot and reinstalled.
Data folder dtill missing, but no more warning. 8)

Some program was at some time installed into your "My Documents\Data" directory, and added itself to your notification database. You've since removed the application, but the removal didn't get rid of the database entry, which is why you were getting this error.
You could have gotten a utility like Anoton Tomov's Pocket Mechanic (Look at http://www.antontomov.com), which would allow you to look at all the entries in the Notification database and even remove the offending entry.
This would have saved you hard resetting your device.
I've had a similar problem with eWallet 4.0 installed on my SD card, where I'd get an error like that if my XDA shut off before I closed eWallet.
Hi!
I noticed this problem just today when I was trying to write a new note on my pda2k...I got the app open ok, jotted down the info that I wanted in the note and then when I hit OK in the top right hand corner, nothing happened! I had to hit the red/end call button to get out of the app....when I went back in, it opened to the same note.It wont save it for some reason....
now I have recently installed PocketBreeze 5.0 (the trial version) and have the O2Plus utility - everything is working fine except this!!!! I can access my old notes fine and I save them to my storage card.....
another note: my stupid pda mount fell yesterday while my pda2k was in it....everything is fine and I have checked the programs on my storage card too and they work ok too??
any ideas anyone???? I need my notes since I write loads of them......
Thanks for any help!
Kaz.
EDIT: it will save notes to my main memory but not to my storage or the storage card.

anyone know
I've just installed TomTom 6 on my orbit and when I run the program I get the error 'No Maps Found' and wondered whether anyone could help me.
I know I have to create a TOMTOM folder in My Documents and add a CurrentMap.dat file but I need to know exaclty what text goes in this as I've read conflicting arguments. Also wondered if anyone else could help me as I'm really stuck here.
THIS problem happens when you start the bluetooth explorer from the program menu
do a hard reset and rinstall your tomtom
Or buy a legit copy and install it normally?
Go to settings > connections > bluetooth
and untick bluetooth explorer! Then it should be fine.
Hard reset????
bluchrome gave the answer, a simple switch!
you need to copy the maps straight onto the sd card then soft reset and if you do not need to activate that particuler map........hey presto you should heve the map...........let me know if you need more help, regards
Hi All.
Firstly, let me say Hi as this is my first post here on XDA Developers and i hope my post is in the right group.
I have just started to get an error when im editing photos on my XDA Orbit - WM6 and i dont know why?
If i goto Pictures & Videos - select storage card - find the photo and load it.
Then goto Menu - Edit and then just do a Rotate, then go back to Menu and Save as.. i get this error message "There was an error saving the file"
Now i have checked my card is not Read only or the files themselves as i can delete them. I have lots of room on the card (8gb).
Any ideas would be grateful.
Many Thanks

Hello everybody,
Now here comes a strange one! At least to me.
I have a HTC P3300 with the official WM6. I had installed all the Homeplugins, dial skin, comm manager, etc, to get it to look like a HTC Touch (without the cube).
Never had any installation problem.
Recently I came too close to the memory limit, so I decided that I would install most things to the storage card (yeah I know, real experts do that the first time, lol). Everything went fine, except for the 8-Button-CommManager (I can't tell you the exact file name because I changed it, but I downloaded it from this site).
The installation was succesfully, but the CommManager is invisible, well not quite invisible but you can see through. Just seeing the text but no buttons, no icons, just the Todayscreen behind with the button-text floating.
I re-installed it: first I was asked if I wanted to remove the old one which I approved. Installation failed, no permission! I never had this!
I tried again. This time no question about the old one, just the "no permission"-reply.
Of course I googled this but I haven't found anyone having this problem with a program he was able to install in the past. (No permission -> you have to unlock your phone, etc okay for those who never could install anything...or am I wrong)
Thanks a lot for answering (forgive my english, I got a little nervous with this problem )
PROBLEM SOLVED!
So for those who have encountered this problem, or for those just wanting to know about it, I found a solution after some intense googling.
The CommManager has some known bug, that it does this invisble thing when it is installed to the storage card, without giving you the possibility to uninstall it via "remove programs".
Just reinstall it to the memory. No problem so far.
