Hi guys,
it happens often to me that i use the neo as a torch. then i think it would be great if i had an app that make my screen white and set brightness to maximum similar as the camera does.
Any idea if such a software already exist?
Thanks for help

Hello,
I broke my touch screen and I change it with new from ebay, but after install it the rotate screen doesn't work, it was working fine with the other screen.
Can it be from the screen who don't have this function? Maybe I must upgrade the Universal again with the Rom to recognize the new screen?
Can some one help me?
Many thanks.
Jean Marc.
Hi,
What do you mean by "rotate screen" not working?
You are unable to "rotate", or change the orientation of the screen by yourself, when you press the relevant system setting option?
Or instead you are speaking about the auto-rotate screen function that is trigerred when you put (turn) the display facing the keyboard or facing you?
The answers will be different...
Regards,
P
If I remember correctly, there is a tiny magnet that is clipped on the edge of the screen housing that controls the orientation of the screen. Make sure that magnet didn't pop out while installing the new screen. Look in the Universal Service Manual to get details.

Hello,
I speak about auto-rotate screen function when I turn the screen, I didn't saw any tiny magnet clipped on the edge of the screen housing, I will chek on manual.
Thanks.
Have a look at the following thread. I know it's for the Hermes, but it shows pics of the kind of magnet you are looking for:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1449001&postcount=6
You will also be able to work out where it should be, by locating the magnet operated switch - again there are pics of what to look for.

I had the same problem
Hello Jean Marc
I also had this problem, you just forgot the little magnet mounted near the screen, it's used to tell uni if it's landscape or portrait ...
Good luck

Hey Guys,
is there a possibility to wide the light sensor range. If i compare my Desire with iphone, which ever, in complete darkness the iphone is more friendly to read. It´s near without backlight, my desire looks like a fog lamp
Would be great to change the operate parameters of the light sensor, does somebody know an app or ist there a rom, with sense, which providing this feature??
Thanks for great wory guys,
regrads andi
I have the same problem, but I just use the app called "Dimmer (Night mode)" from market.
It's not as elegant as having the auto brightness turn it all the way down, but it works.
It switches between lowest brightness and the brightness you had selected before.
yes, i know this app, but as you say not so cofortable...
anybody another idea?
thanks!
Hey peeps!
Question First: Has anyone else found a LED flashlight app that works well on the DHD or Inspire that can dim the LED right down?
I want to use the LED on the back as a reading light so I don't have to drain the battery by using the screen but its simply too bright.
I am running an Inspire 4G on Revo HD 6.3.1. The stock flashlight app works well with the 3 levels avaliable and I don't want to kill the LEDs by over running them.
There are tonnes of flashlight apps out there, some using the led and some not. The ones I have researched either don't have a brightness adjustment on the LED or attempt to burn a hole in a sheet of paper.
The only app that I have found which relates to this is call "Reading Light" and is just an adjustable brightness grey screen.
If this has been discussed before please let me know and i'll request this thread be closed. I couldn't find anything regarding this aspect of the topic.
Regards,
Akida
I don't think this has come up before. Its a good request. I'd be interested in something like this.
Bump
Bump for confirmation of possibility please!
Btw .. how often am I allowed to bump? I couldn't find it in the forum rules.
CM 7.1 has a application called Torch which has two light levels. The dim one seems like it would be perfect for reading (it only uses 1 of the 2 flash LEDs). The bright level is insanely bright (much brighter than the Sense flashlight app).
There is an app on the market called Torch, but I don't think its the same one that comes with CM 7.1.

Hey that sounds like its worth a shot. Has anyone extracted the app from CM 7.1? I'm going to ask them for permission anyway.
Thanks for the info.

I have got exactly the same, but I turn my back lights off, makes it look much cleaner and neater in anycase, it's my only real answer to the problem, if you are wanting the app I use to do it let me know.

Nice, whats best settings i need put? disable the soft keys backlight?
I had a bunch of requests for Wave Control to have this functionality. I thought it best to do a dedicated app so here it is!
Flip Case Control is designed to work with Samsung's Flip Case on the I9300 while using as little battery as possible. (I left it running all night ~8.5 hours and the battery dipped 1% more than usual)
IMPORTANT: If your case is black or dark on the inside, the sensor doesn't read correctly when the case is closed. To fix this, put a piece of light colored tape on the inside of the case where it lines up with the sensor (located next to the front camera)
Note: A Samsung based ROM is required. CM won't work well.
Here's a demo video:

Let me know what you guys think!
very good app, but trial
I can't seem to get it to work with my S3 on CM10 - it works sporadically or not at all, sometimes turning the screen off when the case is opened.

first of all you cannot use this function on cm as it requires sammy rom
and for the another doubt
this only works to turn off screen while closing the flip cover and turning the screen on when opening the cover
hope this helps

I'd like to offer stuff for free but I'm not in a financial position to do so.
I'm trying a different format with this app and not adding in advertising and will see how things go.

Yeah I forgot about that.. indeed it does need a Samsung ROM.. some of the tweaks they did were for the better (who'd have thought?!)
Thanks for pointing that out for others!
awesome app..very useful..!
What do you guys think of the delay when opening the case after awhile?
I'm thinking of adding an option to speed that up but it will sacrifice battery life due to a wake lock preventing Deep Sleep.
V1.05
Just uploaded version 1.05 to the Play Store
Changes:
Reduced false triggers for screen off
Changed button UI
Added notice about dark cases
Updated icon
Sped up screen on response a little bit
I am using the trial and it really works! Nice!
With a better price I would buy for sure!
Sent from my Galaxy SIII using Tapatalk 2.
I don't know if you've already taken it into account, but the Galaxy S3 Mini will also have Flip Cases available. Adding compability for that devices might give a sales boost for the app, when the phone hits the market
Version 1.10
Just put out to the Play Store V1.10:
-Reworked detection method much more robust now
-Option to disable the sensitivity changes from V1.05
-Option for longer timeout for Screen Off
Let me know if I broke anything!

Ah good call! I'll keep an eye on it.
Version 1.20:
1. New Swipeable UI - Swipe left for settings, Swipe right for Night Disable
2. New Night Disable Mode - Shut off the sensor at night while you sleep. Saves a tiny bit of battery and keeps you from keeping the sensor on 24/7.
3. Auto Start on Boot works on the Trial Version now.
4. Bug fixes
I'm still not happy with the UI. It's functional for presenting the new functionality but I need to polish it up a bit.
What do you all think?
Any other features/options you would like to see?
Can someone on Jelly Bean try this out and see if you're prevented from reaching Deep Sleep by checking with Cpu Spy?
I'm getting reports from Note II users that this is the case and I'm trying to narrow down the reasons.
I'm still on ICS on my SGSIII and it's working fine so it's hard to find a fix if I can't recreate the issue.
TIA
Hi,
i'm on CM10.1 and it works fine.
My problem is the representation of the app.
i run my s3 with a density of 240 so your app shows up a little buggy!

V2.0 BETA
It's been awhile but I finally got some time to update this app.
Please help me test out the new V2.0 Beta version. It's attached below along with some screenshots.
New Features:
-New Sensing Method for case closed
-New UI
-New Battery Saver Options
-Option to have status bar icon
-New Option to use different Screen Off Method
So far seems to work pretty well on my SIII (I9300T).
