Proplems after changing the case - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 Accessories

Hello All,
I have purchased a new case for the prophet, it has arrived on time nodelay. I have followed the instruction found on the Russian website on how to change the case to the letter. After I have changed the case, i have found that if you press on the casing the touch screen loses its alignment, or something happens that stops the touch screen from accepting input.
Now i have tried the same trick with the cover on loosely and with our the cover on and i have discovered that it function properly.
Does any body have any experiance or any thoughts about this. it is really anoying

i've changed my case as well, did not come across this problem, check the lcd connections, might be loose? take it out & put it back in again & see

Touchscreen not working

Hello, I am having serious issues with the touchscreen of my BA.
The screen part is kind os loose, it moves slightly sideways.
I have no idea if the two things are connected, the touchscreen also does not work properly, as it randomly does not detect taps.
I have noticed that if I press for a bit the sides of the screen down onto the back of the BA, it works better for a while.
Do you guys have any clue on what the issue could be and how to solve it?
I myself have the idea that some tap detecting thing behind the screen has detached from the screen itself, and that I have to open it to fix it. Am I wrong?
Up.
Anybody who can give some advise before I take it to assistence?
unfortunatly
i have the same issue...and everybody is telling me i need new screen ..if u get a solution... i'd be grateful if u tell me.thnx alot
Hi, I have disassembled it, trying to understand something, but really nothing happened, I can't pretend much since i am not an expert. i have no clue, that is why i am about to take it to the shop and get it fixed. damn it.
hi..
saw this in another site..hope it helps..
"Are you using a screen protector that has got under the case or could there be a bit of detritus between the screen and the case? These cause pressure on the digitizer making it unable to register taps.
Take off the screen protector and see if any improvement. Fold a piece from a sheet of copier paper at the corner to make a scoop and go around the edge of your digitizer just under the case."
regards..

take apart lg ks20

i need to take apart my ks20. want to repaint the chrome like frame that goes around the phone (lg used some cheap paint, it comes off really easy). I have looked at the service manual, but couldn't get anywhere. After taking out the battery and sim card, there are to screws on top that i removed, i tried to remove the back plastic cover (the one with the camera opening) and no luck, it doesn't budge.
does someone know how to do this? i think the service manual is somewhere on the site, but i have no idea how to proceed.
thanx a lot
Try

thanx for the link, but i have looked at the manual and can't make up anything of it
it doesn't say how to go about taking it apart, all it shows is a diagram with all the pieces
is there anyone here who knows or at least has an idea about this, i really need to get it repainted (i hate scratched phones)
thanx a lot
Maybe some one can answer this question? I also need to disassemble my KS20 - because of dirt on camera lens...
The disassembly is fairly straightforward - remove the battery, remove the visible screws, run a special tool along the black plastic and unclip. It's not easy, but it will come off. The back cover houses thermal pad, because KS20 gets quite hot from time to time. I guess LG didn't anticipate that happening, so the pad is a bit of a last resort solution from them, quite unorthodox.
As far as middle silver strip is concerned, it houses a flex, so unless you know what you are doing - don't bother touching beyond the back cover.
hi, i dissambled my ks20 today.. and i think there's a problem...
my screen wont turn on anymore...there are still sounds and even the touch screen is working..its just that my screen is not showing anything...
i think the connection between the screen and the motherboard was loose...
but then again, i cannot find the connector... can someone help me with this...
Hi,
Read this KS20
By.
tqso much....
i just receive my digitizer today... but i have no idea to repair it myself...can u guide me?
We took my ks20 apart. The screen opened up a bit when it was removed, so perhaps it's broken. We did manage to get the digitizer off however..
Problem is the digitizer was glued with a helluva lot of glue. How will we get it to stick when we put it back? I read some use double-sided tape, but won't that be way too thick?
Glue seems to be the only solution, but what kind and how much? The screen also seemed to have been glued in place.
Will any kind of super glue work? Only a couple of drops perhaps? I'm pretty sure the phone won't be tight after this but..
Anyone who's done this procedure.. What did you use? We're gonna finish this tomorrow so I'm very grateful for any advice.
bump
This is important.

Has anyone changed their housing on the Artemis?

I'm curious to know if you can get it back together with all the seems as tight as when it was new. I want to get a new case off ebay but I want to know if there's problems with if fitting together again after it's been disassembled.
I was able to do it. It came out pretty good but I did slightly bend the metal edge of the new frame when I had to reopen it to align the reset button cover. But it's so slight, no one would ever be able to tell but me. All in all, it wasn't too bad, but it was just nerve racking having your $500 phone ripped apart and wondering if it will work when you put it back together - if you can get it back together. I was so relieved when I got the WM screen again!
A few pieces of advice:
For one, the instructions I read just said to disconnect the ribbon cables. Well it doesn't say that all you have to do is flip up the little plastic part to release the tension from the ribbon. (figured that out the hard way)
Also, make sure the rubber covers for items like the mic and reset button line up before you resecure the board to the frame. You DON't want to have to reopen it.
My phone will now stay covered with an excellent silicone cover made by Boxwave. The cut-outs are precision - you can get to everything. Also, it fits nice and tight like a glove. And it's just thick enought to protect, fit in the carrying case, and allow you to use all the buttons easily, especially the scroll wheel. (my last cover was too thick to use it with the cover on) I don't want to have to do this surgery an my phone any time in the near future so this is staying on my phone.
Problem when change housing
Yesterday I've change my M700 housing with P800. But as we know, they have different button map.
Now, I am trying to set up a hotkey for the Call button (Green button),
ie, when I press the call button, an application of my choice would
start running. For that I need to change the default settings in the
registry of the Pocket Pc. Could someone tell me where the default
settings of the call button is stored in the registry and what all
values should I change in the registry so that I can setup the call
button hotkey. Any help would be highly appreciated.
Why not just download hbutton and map as many programs as you like to the other available buttons? I've got like 12 prog mapped to 5 buttons.
Edit: Oops. I missed the point of your post. The buttons are mapped differently.

[Q] Touch Pro 2 stuck in Landscape

Hello,
I dropped my Touch Pro 2 in fresh water. No insurance of course and no more discount from T-mobile to buy a new phone.
Following video instructions on youtube I disassembled it, I believe without breaking anything.
The LCD screen was gone (water inside), and I bought a new one in eBay.
Once I received it I reassambled the phone. Evertyhting seems to work fine but... the screen is stuck in landscape!
Of course I did soft and hard reset, tried to play / disable the G-sensor and orientation sensor, nothing: I believe it has to do with some switch that recognize when the keyboard is slide open, but I have no idea what sensor is it, I can't find any mechanism that resemble a micro switch or a mini magnet related to the opening / closing of the keyboard. Instead I find a microswitch that senses when the pen is inside, but nothing about the screen.
Any suggestion, does anybody here have any hardware knowledge on this topic? I tried to use software like Gyrator 2 which put a patch on the problem, but I would rather fix the hardware first: perhaps I did not mount something correctly, where is this sensor, is it magnetic or microswitch, I can't see anything even with lenses on.
thank you all in advance
....
I have exactly same problem, my TP2 is stuck in landscape mode. I bought TP2 in the US. My housing was broken so I bought a new one in europe the oem one with lcd screen and digitizer... Could this make the problem?
I am pretty sad, I dont want to buy a new phone :S
The sensor must be in the screen-half of the phone underneath where the red "end call" button is. This is demonstrated if a healthy phone is slid open, and then you pass a small magnet underneath the screen in that area, screen will flip between portrait and landscape.
Which yes I did the same thing today and it was your post randell that helped me. All you need to do is go to walmart purchase the smallest but most powerful smallest magnet you can find. cut you a piece of it, superglue it to the bottom right corner. worked like a charm.
or if you wanted to open your case back up like i did you can superglue it on the inside lol. If you look at your old case you will find your old magnet you can use. simple easy just thought id let you know k bye ta ta.

[Q] Touch screen issues after replacing glass

I broke my screen a while ago, and decided recently to go ahead and change it myself. I ordered a glass for 10$ on Ebay and when it arrived, I followed a tutorial on Youtube where I had to heat the front of my phone, then with a knife or something sharp lift the glass, then put the net one after I was sure everything was properly cleaned.
The problem is my screen was so shattered in some places that it was really hard to remove everything so I ended up applying more pressure on the AMOLED to remove the remaining glass pieces.
So I cleaned it afterwards, and placed the new one. Booted, and VICTORY, everything works... Or so I thought.
I noticed my touch screen now behaves oddly. For example if I type too fast it will miss some letters. If I press to hard on the screen it will become like it's completely unbalanced, registering toush inputs anywhere until I close I turn the screen off and back on.
If I try to draw on the screen (in Draw Something, for example) it won't be accurate, to the point I can't really play the game anymore.
My question is : do you think I broke something when applying heat (I didn't apply that much so I don't think so) or when removing the hard-to-remove last glass pieces? Or did I simply made some mistake when replacing the glass and it's not correctly in place (I noticed it's a little higher relatively to the bezel, compared to what it was before)? Maybe it's not perfectly in place...
Thank you for your advice! I'm a noob hardware-wise so I have no idea at all what's the problem!
