Never really used the cube bvefore, but having played with a T-Mobile Touch, I wanted to try t a bit more...
Is it possible to just assign the cube to a button so that it just starts up when you press a button, or do you always need to slide on the screen?

I now own the Orbit. I used to own the Wizard so am used to lanscape screen. I also tried some WM6 roms, namely Faria's which has a little icon at the bottom tray in the today screen that rotates the screen. Can anyone point me to such a programme? It would be so useful as I use landscape mode for my GPS in car.
thanks
Don't know about your icon thingy, but I use my start menu button to rotate my screen, double press. "AE Button plus" I find to be the most comprehensive button mapper, and I have my orbit really nicely set up for one handed use. Double tap explorer button now will launch tomtom, ok button really closes stuff, etc.

See the sixth bullet under "how to"...not exactly what you want tho.
I want to toggle between Vibrate and Ring+Vibrate with the PTT button.
If you're talking about the PTT button them my guess is that you have a Tilt2 -- and if that's the case then all you need to do is press and hold the far right hardware button on the front ("hang up"): this will switch between the ring you have set (presumably vibrate+ring) and vibrate.
Now you've got the PTT button free to map to something else useful. For mapping I would suggest the Rhodium Keyboard Controller (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=554240).
Yes. I do have the ATT Tilt Two.
I'm running the stock rom. I used Crud Scraper to remove the bloat. When I press and hold the end call, it locks the phone. I have no need for that function because when the screen is off on the Tilt 2, the keys lock, unlike on the Tilt 1. I had to use S2U2 on my old Tilt.
Look for the setting
I think it is start>settings>Personal>Long End Key to change the behavior of the 'hold end key'.
The link provided by pistou will do what you need with the PTT button.
I decided to use the PTT button to turn on the Comm Manager.
I copied it from the windows directory to the start menu, so that it shows up under the button options. Now I can disconnect data more easily for added battery life. Thanks for all your help.
When I had the Fuze, it has a button that takes you all the way back to the TouchFlo Home screen (Clock). The tilt 2 does not have suck a button. I have remapped by PTT button for the "Today" screen option. So when I am in a program and want to get back to TouchFlo I can hit the PTT button, which is nice.
But, say I deep in TouchFlo interface and I want to jump back to Home Screen, it does nothing for that. All of TouchFlo is the Today screen. Is there a way to remap it so it has the same functionality as the home button on the Fuze?
And why can you not just press the hang-up button? mine takes me back to the home screen....

Problem solved! Thanks!
hi,
i used to have a hd2 phone, when i pushed the "end conversation" button, the screen would turn off and the phone would automaticly lock.
when i turned the screen back on, first i'd have to slide the button to the side to use the phone.
on my touch pro 2, it works different.
i'd have to press the button and hold for several seconds before it locks.
just pressing it once just urns off the screen, nothing more.
is there a way to make my touch pro 2 do the same thing like the hd2?
i want to lock itself everytime i press the "end conversation" button.
(that would be the button on the far right).
It's doesn't do exactly what you are asking about, but have you tried LockDevice 1.6? It simply locks the device everytime you turn off the screen. I have been using it for a while an love it.
hi,
i've just found it and downloaded it.
works like a charm... didn't expect my problem to be so easily fixeable.
sweet as....

Co0kie's home tab allows you to set an auto HDmini-style unlock (not sure if similar to HD2) and you can edit whether unlocks on call, lock after call etc.

Not sure why you're adverse to installing a cab, but under All Settings --> Lock you can set it to lock "if unused for 0 minutes", but I believe this only works if you set up a PIN (which I have anyway for security, but if unused for 12 hours, as I use Co0kie's home tab as above), so this can be an extra hassle.
I have tried S2U2 ages ago, which gives an iphone-style lock screen with editable settings, but found it drained battery excessively. This may now be rectified, though.
I am using S2U2 and not having any battery issues with it. It does require a cab to install it, though.

Don't be hard on her. The Power button is hideous: ill designed, hard to locate if you don't have the device in your hand and, to add insult to injury, they chose that place to put the LED notificaction light, something which is supposed to be highly visible.
and also make sure that the back cover is on firmly (clicked in from top to bottom, left and right), as that can make it a little tricky to push the bottom properly.
or to save the hassle of fighting the button, search the market for an app that gives you soft buttons (puts a little sliding menu on the screen, which extends to give you on screen buttons that emulate things like power buttons, home buttons, call buttons, all sorts really)
In such small screens, a row of dedicated buttons like Button Savior is a waste of screen real estate. And she would still have to switch on the phone with the button.

i cant remember what app i tried out, but it only takes up a very tiny tab on the screen. almost unseen. which can be moved to wherever you like. and you could even change if you need to only tap the tab, or hold it, to open up the soft button selection. and if someone is having trouble with the power button, you only need to use the home button to bring the screen back online.
