Hello,
Whenever i try to use a picture as the Today Background i get the usual screen where it asks how transparent i want the picture. I set transparency to 0 and then click the OK button at the top right of the screen, but when i check the background it has not changed.
I also tried going into File Browser and clicking and holding the picture. In the drop-down menu there's an option select as today background. I click that and when i check the today screen it is the right picture, but the transparency is default 65%.
I also tried selecting the wallpaper from the Today Screen settings in the settings folder and it works but doesn't give me an option to select transparency and therefore stays at the default 65%.
Any help in solving this problem would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Uzzy.

When I try to set the Wallpaper in the Settings -> Display -> Screen display -> lock screen wallpaper it doesn't launch the "Wallpaper Gallery" , it just shows a list of file choosers eg Astro, Gallery...
Where are the stock Wallpapers and is the above correct?
Instead, go to your home screen, HIT the MENU Key and select Wallpaper. From there you will be able to see Wallpaper gallery.

this is just for the home screen wallpaper right, I would like to change the "Lock screen"
Yes, I think this is a bug. The lock screen wallpaper chooser doesn't invoke the wallpaper gallery activity.
Here is a workaround:
The stock wallpapers are stored in TwWallpaperChooser.apk. You can download it and extract the wallpapers onto the sdcard, then use gallery to configure the lock screen wallpaper:
Download TwWallpaperChooser.apk off of the device to your computer using command:
adb pull /system/app/TwWallpaperChooser.apk .
Or if you don't have Android SDK installed, install a file manager like Astro on the phone and copy /system/app/TwWallpaperChooser.apk to /sdcard, then download it to your PC via USB.
Open TwWallpaperChooser.apk as a zip archive
Extract res/drawable-hdpi/
Delete thumbnail images (files <90KB)
Create directory /sdcard/wallpaper on the phone
Copy the remaining full-size images files to /sdcard/wallpaper/ using USB mount (do not use adb push)
Go to Settings -> Display -> Screen display -> Lock screen -> Wallpaper -> Gallery, select the wallpaper you want, click Save. Done!
I liked the transparent lockscreen on the Galaxy 1.
Is there any way to make the lockscreen transparent on the Galaxy 2 (without an app?)
I know about widget lock but I like the Samsung style lockscreen.
How do I get back the original lock screen..I changed it to a new one, need to revert back..
I guess if its a bug , perhaps I'll report this to samsung.
I wonder how responsive they are?

Just found that when the we set the phone's wallpaper to the one as the original lock screen wallpaper, a option pops up asking if the lock screen wallpaper needs to be changed to the same. Once you click yes, bingo you get your original wallpaper..
I've now restored my original (factory set) lock screen wallpaper!
My lockscreen appears to have disappeared entirely. Not sure if I've accidentally disabled it in my travels, but has anyone else had the same problem?
Yes if you wanna choose a wallpaper for lock screen then the wallpaper gallery doesn't show up. It's definitely a bug. But there is a way. Try to set a wall for Homescreen but not lockscreen, Wallpaper gallery will show up, choose a picture, now set it on Portrait mode, not Landscape mode, Set, then you will be asked if you wanna choose it for Lockscreen also. But don't check the 'Don't ask again' box.
This bug should be fixed in next firmware update anyway.
Regards.
Hi guys. I got a quick question about this.
I like the way the stock lockscreen unlocks. ( By dragging anywhere)
However, I don't like the size of the clock and the date.
Is there a way to change the font size of the clock and the date and keeping the way it unlocks?
I tried using WidgetLocker, but it changes the way the screen unlocks.
If there is a solution to it, please let me know. I use ADW Ex.
Thank you.
I can change mine no problem independently of the homescreen. I'm on KF1
Settings>Display>Screen Display>Lock Screen
Thank you. But that gives the option only to change the clock location. Or the wallpaper.
If I want to change the font, it will change the whole phone fonts.
Isn't there another way? Maybe using ADW Ex?
Thank you for the tip anyway.
Hi,
I have absolutely no problem with setting the lockscreen wallpaper.
Going to display/screen display/lockscreen then wallpaper. It brings up gallery. After installing a file manager the popup menu shows different options to search the wallpaper, but gallery is also listed there.

Which ROM version do you have? XWKE2 definitely does not bring up a gallery from settings/display/screen display/lockscreen/wallpaper.
Edit: Nevermind, I can see the gallery option now. The issue is gone...

Hello I am running the most current version of Paranoid Android 3+ available at the moment for the Verizon Galaxy Nexus. My question is how do i do the per app color that changes the nav bar and status bar colors to match the app color? I have tried to enable automatic color (ideal) and i have also tried setting the colors manually but even when i press apply in the context window for the app, the settings still do not apply and save. Where am i messing up? Also unrelated but is there a way to make the clock in the status bar be positioned in the middle? Thanks.
Enable PA Colors
Go to settings, go to Hybrid properties, and then:
1) Click on the red option that says PA Colors, and in the top right click on apply.
2) Then, go back to the home page of the Hybrid Properties, and swipe to the right.
3) Now select Interface. Here you can change your overall lay-out, overall DPI and NAV. bar height.
4) But also you'll see a section that says something like General Colors, with a checkmark box that says Enable per app Colors. Check this. Then click on Apply in the top right corner again. It will ask you to reboot.
5) Click on OK, and your phone will reboot. After that your phone should have per app colors!
And if you want to change per app colors very quickly when you are in an app, slide down with two fingers from the status bar, and select the tile with the five colored squares. Swipe to the left and you can change the colors of the app you are using at the moment. Just remember to hit apply after you're done!
And there you go If I helped you, please click that Thanks button
I've been trying to find a way to change the lockscreen wallpaper (not one of the lame preinstalled ones) to no avail.
I know how to access the option but I want to be able to select one of my own and the only 2 options I get are to use either Travel wallpapers or Wallpapers. Neither of these allows me to select my own images, just the default preinstalled 6 or so.
i downloaded quickpic hoping it would create an association when opening the lock screen wallpaper changer , to no avail.
This is really getting annoying

The 2 methods I posted are the standard. Both methods not working would be highly unlikely to be a hardware or software issue and would lean towards user error.
Can you go through the steps you attempted when going into QuickPic to set Wallpaper for let's say Lock screen so I can see where the failure is occurring
Edit
Prior to the above, can you go into Applications
Wipe cache and data in QuickPic
Go into QuickPic and try again.
Let the files load.
Deleted Cache.
When I pic the image and select menu it gives me the following 4 options: Quickpic wallpaper, Set as wallpaper, Contact Photo, Nova Wallpaper.
There is no option to set it as a lock screen wallpaper. i can select the image edit it and whatnot but once checked its set as home screen wallpaper.
I go to:
QuickPic
Choose pic
Press device Menu button
Press Set as
And below is the option screen I get:

Try the above options I mentioned in my earlier post.
Ive tried multiple times...seems as if the file association or executable for lock screen wallpaper no longer exsists.
Im wondering if one of the pic apps i downloaded has something to do with it.
i just went into app manager and reset all preferences. That brought back the option.
Hi...
Guys, I'm farely confident that I may have messed up something. Its easy to apply a wallpaper. You go to the gallery and select a wallpaper that you would like to assign. (Tap the left side button and say set as...). Then you have options like Contact Photo, Home Screen, Lock Screen & Both...
Now there is something new like wallpaper & WhatsApp profile.
If I select wallpaper a stupid screen opens and it is ridiculous. I have made my own wallpapers and I have something wrong with it.
Guys please help me...
I dont think you have messed up anything...they are just the options when you use set as:
For example contact photo, whatsapp profile etc...
To set a wallpaper for home screen, just select homescreen...for lock screen select lockscreen..etc..
To set the photo as whatsapp wallpaper...select whatsapp...
The screen you have given is a cropping screen that is used to set the photo acc. to note's display.
Ajinkya... Thanks for the revert.
The problem is previously when I would select to set as wallpaper it would let me, however now it directly goes to this cropping screen. I want it to go back to the image where it would allow me to zoom in or out and then set the entire image as a wallpaper.
All the walls that I use are custom made to the screen resolution of 720 x 1280.
Please help me to reset the wallpaper function to default. I cannot find a way to go back...
Please Help.
Guys, please help as I have tried everything but still it doesn't work.
There are so many Guru's here. Please someone help me out.

From what i understand, you want to set your full image on a single screen,i.e do not want to use a part of it.Am I right??
Well by default it isn't possible, but there are third part apps that would let you do so.
One of them is:https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.twistedapps.wallpaperwizardrii&hl=en
After install go to gallery, select set as for an image->select wallpaper wizardrii->select set->preview->select stretch portrait->Done.
Hope this helps.

This has done the job. Thanks.
Previously by default I could set it, but off lately a few days ago when I guess the Software was updated, this changed to something else.
My problem is resolved. I'm Glad...
Thanks so much.
Glad to help you bro..
Hi - I just set up a new S9 (AT&T). I installed my apps and went through some out of the box software updates so its now running 8.0.
Last night I noticed that when on my homescreen my Status Bar is now gone. It comes back if I open an app or go into the Apps drawer, but I cant see it from any page on my homescreen.
I can still swipe down from the top of the screen to get to the settings shortcuts, but I cant see Notifications, Battery, Signal, etc from any homescreen pages.
Its actually making me crazy - was hoping someone might have some thoughts on how to remedy this?
Thanks.
Hi after trying all morning I finally solved this - I found a lot of other posts outside XDA struggling with this issue so just wanted to update in case anyone else is having this problem.
I was using a picture as my wallpaper. For some reason this was making the bar invisible (or somehow the color changes to blend in to the background completely?). I changed to a Samsung stock wallpaper and it was visible again. I then changed back to set my picture as the wallpaper, and now the status bar is still visible...
Whatever - dont know why, but it worked!
