Hi.
I'm using WM6.5 with HTC SENCE 2.5
I'm looking for a tweak, programs, whatever to disable the weather animation at home tab, but remaining weather icon info.
Any help?
Thanks
I think what you do is set the background picture to something different than 'Weather background' (I'm on a Dutch version, so I'm unsure of the actual English button label)
But don't shoot me if I'm wrong
Ghanz is right:
On the home page in Manila, tap menu/home wallpaper/animated wallpaper but then tap Albums and browse to the non-animated image you want to use and select.
Done

HI all
What i want is to STOP the weather animation, not the background animation.
I usually use a photo as background wallpaper (a standart JPG with 800*480), but the animations are still active (sun shining, raining, etc).
How to stop that???
Hi,
i used this from another thread :

Hey kam',
well, mine was set to 0 or 1, and i changed it to 2 which disabled the weather-animation for me.
If yours is set to 2 already, maybe try to change it to 0 or 1, then softreset and change it back to 2 and softreset.
If that doesn't work, then i have no idea, sorry.
Hope it helps, greetings

I did this yesterday, but it didn't work ...

Weather animation
I know its been a while since this thread was active but i came here looking for a answer and went away to come back with the easy solution. install the wonderfull max manilla layout which amongst other things lets you turn off the weather animation. Hope this saves others some time looking for the easy route.

I think it is easier to do a single change in the registry, than installing maxmanilla, then softreseting... why do all this if you just want to disable weather aanimation???
Fair point but a lot of people have never played around with the registry and dont feel comfortable with the idea

Think would be great, my device goes crazy when the weather is sunny...
Exactly ... the problem is sunny weather and clear night sky's! It would be really nice if someone would suggest something.
And by the way ..... if it is possible, then not with a .cab file please. I want to know what causes the animation.

Set cpu has a widget like that. Displays temp, min/max, and current speed. You can also get it for free from here on xda, or donate by getting it from the market.

Have you tried Temp+CPU V2 in the Market?
Yes I just want the text of just the processor speed
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
Elixer possibly?

If you use setcpu [free for xda members] you can long press on a home screen and add the widget and it'll show you the temp and the speed. You can also set it so it'll display in your notification bar.

Again, I want a widget like Clockr that will just show the processor speed in text, nothing else,
I will pay/donate if someone finds me one or rigs one up.
Also elixer doesn't have just text.
im looking for a widget or weather app that will tell me both degrees in Celsius and Fahrenheit on the same screen.
my gf is in america right now and for some reason temperature is a common conversation lol. we constantly have to google a celcius to fahrenheit because we both cba to remember the formula or use a calculator all the time lol
so anyone know a weather widget that displays the current temperature in celcius and fahrenheit at the same time.
thanks in advance
I'd recommend using two widgets. You could use Minimalistic Text and create two small standard widgets, one for Fahrenheit and one for Celsius. I've never used an app that gives both... though it probably exists....

Not with Minimalistic Text... they are independent. There's a free version on the Market if you wanted to test it out...
out of curiosity any other widgets you would recommend at all? any that you have downloaded? i could always do with trying out new things

Well, I've tried all the good ones, in my opinion, over the last year or two. But Minimalistic Text is the only widget I use now. It's completely customizable. There's a slight learning curve, but once you get the hang of it, there aren't many limits. I did just double check on the C/F widgets, and they will function independent of each other. The XDA thread for MT is below:

Is it possible somehow to change the update from 3 hours to like every hour?
If so,how please?
Yep.
Click your accuweather widget or open accuweather. Press Menu, then settings. Change the auto-refresh interval.
Ooh, I spoke too soon.... I see what you mean. The shortest interval it offers is 3 hours.....

3 hours is the minimum in my Accuweather settings.
I'd like to have refresh of an hour or so.

The only way I see how would be to buy the $1.99 Accuweather Platinum version, it states that it has hourly updates. I personally like the Weather Underground app vs. Accuweather.. Sorry for the bummer news, thats how those free apps get ya they know what people would REALLY want and charge for it. Kind of like a tease if you will.
I was wondering, why would they take out the auto-refresh from the stock EL29? For somebody that's not knowledgeable about settings (like my father who's just a user) , why take out such a basic function from stock rom ?
Does anybody know how to remove the Question mark in the Weather Widget in the homescreen? See attachment.
I was actually going to post this this morning. Whats it for? When I tap it I get a forbidden error. Screenshot attached-

I get the same thing when I tap on it. I'm sure that widget would like nice without it.
It wants you to set up the smart notice?

My Smart Notice is set up. I already set it up.
After some researching, it appears the ? on the widget is supposed to launch LG's "Quick Help". I neither would use quick help nor do I use Google Now very much (thus, dont need constant updates), so I changed the Smart Notice widget for the regular clock/weather widget. It *is* pretty cool that it changes color depending on your wallpaper, though.
