Is there no way to ad Finger Scrolling into WM5 - P3300, MDA Compact III ROM Development

OK, i thing my subject title says it all. Is there no way to ad Finger Scrolling into WM5 like it is in the PDAVIET Rom Black&Blue v4.0 Touch Flo editor version?

No it is not possible, as mentioned several times b4, its part of the ROM. So you need to upgrade the whole ROM.

OK, straight answer. Is it in all the WM6 or do i need the Cube in my WM6?

I personally do not like the cube (i think its a gimmick, but not very usefull). Because i do like the scrolling option, i use meschle's O2 WM6 Premium 1.0 rom:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=325295
This ROM has no cube, bus does have touchflow. And yes only WM6 Roms WITH Touchflow (not neccesarily(?) the Cube) have the scrolling option.
Its my personal favorite, but there are other ROMS that you can use.

TouchFlo on the B&B v4.0 (in future), possible??
Option only please.
I installed the other Touchflo ROM to see what all the fuss is about...and I just don't get it. On B&B ROM 3.7 you have 5 screen shortcuts (home, people, weather, launcher, sound) which are just great. With (the current) Touchflo rom you need to press a key to launch touchflo and then swipe. It looks pretty and would be great in the pub..nothing else though IHMO.
Off-topic rant:
The other issue is that other than HTC apps which look really great, and easy to use you end up "leaving" the Touchflo interface for a crap MS screen which hasn't been redesigned for 5+ years (Pocket outlook).

Nope....no touch flo in 3.7....
It really is the only thing that needs adding to 3.7 to make it absolutely stonking!! Not bothered about the cube thing, waste of time if you ask me, but scrolling contacts, email, web etc with your finger really is useful.
Cube is nice for 5 mins - then it gets boring, I actually reverted to 3.7 after using the touch flo rom for a couple of days - but the problem with the "X" not working did my head in.....
Sorry for rambling....
I would agree - touchflo ist a funny application, but have lots of problems and bugs. I think, first of all we need devices, which are stable and performant.

Looking for the fastest manila 2d ROM

Hello because the low RAM on trinity im looking for the simpliest ROM (Only basic apps) with manila2D.
I tried a lot of roms and the fastest was cme 0.9 BETA which has a lot of issues.
Can someone help me?
I would definutly recommend this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=472178
its Team CV93+Oggi (CE OS 5.2.21014.1.6.0) Manila2D and there is a ultra-lite version, I have been using it for about a week (full ROM) and it is fast - stable and im sure the lite versions will be even faster.
Sorry I cant give more details

Hi Snake_A.
The simplest Manila2D ROM (i.e. with the lowest number of potentially not needed add ons) that I have found is nosedive's latest:
[ROM][WWE][4/2/2009]n073e+i (CE OS 5.2.20769 build20769.1.4.5) [ONLINE]
It's faster than any others I have tried and has no issues (apart from psshut not letting you turn the device competely off). Bear in mind that speed on any Rom will depend on what you add after the flash. Reducing the number of Manila2D tabs (using m2Dc customiser) and switching off Manila2D during use of applications like TomTom and Internet Exploring does help.
Chanvi's pre-Iolite/Footprint ones are excellent too, but have more add ons (which you may not need, depending on personal preference). (Chanvi leads the way in Iolite/Footprint experimentation, but so far they seem to use more memory than previous versions.)
Both the above cooks are very active in the Trinity forum and always answer any problems. There are other great cooks who are also opening doors with their work and well worth testing their Roms, but if you are after simplicity and stability, I recommend nosedive or chanvi at the moment.
Hope this helps you and others,
Mattster.
I'm starting to miss Manila2D... I hope some updated Manila2D Roms come out soon.

Hi Philocritus.
I have been thinking of trying that, but to tell you the truth I don't like the iconic start menu in Windows 6.5. I prefer the list format start menu of 6.1.
I have just flashed the 21042 6.1 full manila ROM from chanvi's Kitchen. Do you know how it compares to the latest 6.5 build?

Mattster my friend, welcome back..
I have tried both 6.1 and 6.5 in various options. Summary:
1. 6.1 or 6.5 makes no difference as far as speed. It is all CPU/clocking dependent. they both slow down the same with heavy graphics, and suffer the same behavior. It's all in the hardware..
2. Size of page pool makes a difference for speeds. But it is a trade off between free RAM and speed. It is depending what your needs are. again- 6.1 or 6.5 is not making a difference . Some claim 6.5 is slower, but really in order to say that one needs to compare apples with apples. two different ROMS are , by definition, apple and orange.
3. Try WM6.5 by Chanvi. Give it 72 hours before you give up on the bee hive you hate. After you get used to it, and to the slick movement of it, you will have hard time going back to the dull WM6.1 menus.
4. You will have to forget about 'dirty Harry' pose with the stylus in the mouth. Menus are SOOOOOOO finger friendly my stylus is rusting in its place inside the phone. No WM6.1 has this kind of GUI. Not even if artificially trying to add finger friendly menus. Even the X button on the upper right is thumb friendly !
5. Enjoy both worlds. Home2 now has an applet and theme that looks exactly as M2D. I have it installed on home2 and it's fun, not mentioning I go from analog to digital clock on the home tab in a flick of a finger. If you like the idea of home2 than install WM6.5 IE6Ultralite cause you really don't need CHome or M2D in the ROM. You will be surprised to get 28M free RAM and 79M free storage that way, and a phone faster than ever..

Hi bigE.
Thanks for the feedback. Most informative as always, and much appreciated. Funny you should mention the "Dirty Harry" look. I am somewhat famous for it in the office, and I tend to chew on my stylus continually...
On holiday, I had Manila2d and spb shell both turned off, and as a result I now find it irritatingly slow going back to them! I'll follow your suggestion this weekend: home2 with WM6.5 IE6Ultralite.
Is it worth me trying to cook home2 (it's freeware, no?) into the ROM using Chanvi's kitchen? Maybe you've done it already?
Mattster.
Best ROM that I ever have tested (and I have tested a lot of them) is:
[ROM][WWE] Windows Mobile 6.1 5.2.20270.1.3.1 Ver. 0.4.7.5 (Updated: 2009.04.04) by osavioro
Memory foot print with Home, Messages, E-mail, Settings and Programs tabs enabled in Manila2D:
Storage:
Total: 43.67MB
In Use: 23.67MB
Free: 20.00 MB
Program:
Total: 48.68MB
In Use: 29.56MB
Free: 19.12MB
iGO8 works like a charm. Fast with lot of usefull applications. Dont forget to install Manila customizer so you can disable unwanted tabs and save some memory.
No problems at all.

Worth trying, if you know how.. I didn't. One comment though- there is a non official release of the home2 free (you need to do some reading) where Joel made the home2.exe file use storage memory to dump graphics files. that made home2 work in 90% speed it was before, but free RAM is 4-5M bigger. If you think of cooking home2 I would like to know how you do it.. I have no clue how to take a cab and add it into the kitchen..

I gave up on home2 since it sucked the battery dry in one day! plus it was a very memory hungry app... maybe just maybeeeee i'll return to it when that exe is stable.
miss home1 btw... 1.2 was in my opinion on of the best UI around, and still is my favorite behind m2d

Is there a WM6.5 release which looks exactly like this

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qeX6c4avYpo
and works on Tytn/Hermes?
Quite frankly I would be happy to have just this without any addional features.
Thanks all people who make custom WM6.5 keep up good work.
No You can'. At least for now. This Touch Pro 2 is running TF3D, which don't exist for qvga devices
gregorysl is right. However the most similar to that is M2D. Something like http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=458456
running TouchFlo on Hermes always a problem, it just dont have enough RAM for it.
I have been trying to find a ROM with TouchFlo that does not leave me with 15MB of RAM for a while now. So if any body can find me a TouchFlo ROM that works on Hermes, please let me know
Yes, M2D don't have enought memory for hermes. The best combination I have found it's tai's lite rom and HTC Home. M2D=allways problems.
i have m2d running on tai's rom with no problems really, well nothing that is too irritating anyway

search for swtos's lite roms, there old 6.1 roms now but there clean & very fast
im crazy with fast of iphone, and i have one diamond, but is slow and crash, but could be my rom.
My rom is:
Operator: udK Syrius WM6.5 BETA
ROM: 2.04.73.1 WWE
Radio: 1.09.25.23
Protocol: 52.51.25.26H
CE OS 5.2.21500 (Build 21500.5.0.0)
Thks
Mtty with BSB
Do MTTY and then install http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=506533
Upgrade to Radio v.15 or v.17
Really fast and stable. Just crashed once over a period of 10 days.
Recommended apps to use with it:
1. ChangeScreen
2. Showcase
3. AutoReboot (and set it to reboot in the middle of the night or something)
After reboot: 46%
While running for 3 days: 55-65%
No more helps?
there is no one can really answer your question, which rom is fastest and best.
try each one and see it yourself.
What u recomend me?
From what I tried, suiller's Dia Duit ROM is quite fast (atleast from those I used), and it's very stable.
Cloudy's ROM seems to be one of the fastest to me. Give it a go, don't think you'll be sorry..

I really don't like the iPhone vs WM war - it's totally nonsense. Why not be tolerant? Everyone can choose between iPhones and Windows Phones searching for an ideal phone/pda and that's nobody else business what choice will someone do and why.
Personally I have a HTC Touch Diamond, but soon I'm going to buy an iPod Touch 3G, because of its speed, because of its great design, because of its great screen, because of the number of applications available for it and because of great games which I can play on it.
but its still an telephon???

Official WM6.5 ROM

I really need a help for obtaining an excellent WM6.5.x ROM + <<sense 2.5>>
I've searched all WM6.5.x ROMs on XDA but i don't know which of them can be better for 'HTC TOUCH DAIMOND'
In fact ,i want "WM6.5.X CLEAN ROM+SENSE 2.5 ,STABLE,FAST AND WITH SETTING ITEM IN START MENU "
IF IT IS OFFICIAL ,IT WILL BE BETTER CERTAINLY
THEREFORE,Please Help Me For Finding best ROM ,tanX
simple, not exist
LOL
Don't waste your time with 6.5 it is always going to be slow
Now I can tell you what a good all rounder rom is an that is the MEMO one.
I would say this as I'm helping with it but IMHO it's a keeper.
MEMO Rom
Yes, i too say that 6.5 is not for Diamond. So why u try that?
With all the options the MEMO ROM is the best one (Try it and feel it)
Regards
I'm using the latest energy rom + cookie home tab, and is fast, stable and has good graphics..there is only one problem the free ram is a bit (18-20 mb)
energy rom
Sure, energy roms, especially the latest, are bright, fast, BUT NOT LIGHT due, perhaps in a certain way to the huge amount of apps included. Things that most people does not use. I prefer using wm 6.5.5 rahter than 6.1, but today there is no light rom WITH SENSE (2.1 OR 2.5) AND WM 6.5.5. You can find a good titanium rom wm 6.5.5 (ralpfudsion ralGT1J) with plenty of free ram and stable
Hi,
First you need to understand the limitation of your equipment and specially for the ram. On my side I have tried several rom and I have normally a preference for rom 6.5.x due to my HD2. So I found a good compromised between 6.1 and 6.5.x it is a 6.5 rom (build 21907) back to basic. There is enough ram left and I can customized as I want. The other solution as stated above is to use a titanium version of 6.5.x or 6.5. I also recomand Ormet rom the 8.32 one.
Hope it will help you
I would suggest you to try out the Gen Y WWE ROM. Its a 6.1 with Sense 2.1 ROM. Pretty stable. It has a share of its own issues, but you may wanna try it out yourself. Its got a very good integration of Sense into it with a Start Menu that the Topaz (Diamond 2) shipped with.
The link.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=521941
Here you go. Try it. Its got some good features. If you are starting out new, I suggest take small steps. Rather than taking a leap into 6.5 or 6.5.x give this one a try.
What's your idea ?
tanX of all for your nice suggestions nonetheless it's better that i use WM6.1 for HTC touch diamond instead of WM6.5.X
I INSTALLED DONSALARI ROM(WM6.5) ,IT WAS NOT BAD... , however it has some features that i want
roughly OK : WM6.5.X+SENSE 2.5

I personally had issues with that rom. Diamond does not truly perform too well with it. Had it for a few days then removed it. For instance my video stuttered horribly with it and my album never even began playing H.264 videos. I could only use WMP.
I personally think you should fall back on a tweaked 6.1 ROM with Sense 2.1 or Sense 2.5. Maybe you could search for Manila cab and install it.
try the Don Salari rom dude. i think it's the best official rom n' it's very light (clean basic). good luck!
you might want to try out Benko's 6.5.3 ROMs for Diamond.
