White screen

HI All, have an intersting problem, was surfing the net via wireless when the unit locked up. Soft reset and now all I get is a white screen. The unit seems to hard reset with the startup sound that the unit makes when you first start it up out of the box, but the screen stays white.
Any Ideas? :roll:

tried that and still comes up with white screen, but does all the correct things re sounds but all you can see is a totally white screen.

You could try leaving it with the battery removed overnight but it sounds like a hardware problem to me, could be the lcd has died or the connection has come adrift for some reason.

I suggest u Upgrade or reinstall the ROM , maybe something happened to one of the files that should not be modified , anyway , u won't lose anything , u already Hard.Rstd .........

i had the same problem before..i did an upgrade that fixed it. but still have a backup even if its a white screen..after i upgraded i had another problem with the Storage Folder missing..and the list goes on..dont wory you'll know what i mean when you get it..

It happened to me the second day I got my O2 XDA IIs. Hard reset didn't seem to do anything... The unit didn't response to a soft reset either... It was just frozen... I removed the battery, boxed it up and was ready to return it. The next day, just before I was about to drop it off, I was curious and did a reset and everything went back to normal... It never happen to me again... Don't know what happened :?

I have the same problem...
The phone shows white screen white it can recieve & make calls, activesync can recognize it.. But the screen still white !!
Any other suggestions for helping solve this problem..
Is this means that the LCD is dead ?? or the problem in its connectors or it's a software prob. ???

GREEN Button swaps to CALENDAR

Recently I am experience and incredible fact.
The green button to start a call NOW works as CALENDAR shortcut button (yes like the top right button)
The red button to END a call NOW works as CONTACT shortcut button (yes like the top LEFT button)
The 2 Contact and Calendar button (top left and right) DO work correctly.
I supposed some recently installed applications made this mess. Therefore I tried
- soft reset: no way
- hard reset: no way
- I PUT MDA 3 in BootLoader mode and I REINSTALLED MY rom 1.42 WWE
Now what happened is that for 2 days OK, the GREEN and RED button DID work correctly to start and end CALLS.
After 2 days, the strange phenomena appeared again!
Please note that I HAVE NOT INSTALLED ANY ADDITIONAL SOFTWARE!
I am very puzzled.

I got it to the second time yesterday, but it just went away.
The first time it happened I did a hard reset 2 times and that didn't fix it.
The battery had to die completely

Is it a known issue ofr ROM 1.42?

did you try to REFLASHING ????

I was actually going to downgrade because the problem never happened in 2003, but my battery was dead when the battery was charged enough to start the buttons worked correctly.....
The second time it happened it just went away after a few hours (I was driving so I couldn't mess with it) when I got home it was back to normal.

Yes I have installed Windows 2005. Then since very unstable, I downgraded to Win2003, 1.42 (not the original 1.31
Now, in addiiton to his strange fact, (flipping buttons) I experience the flickering of screen, several times a week. A soft reset usually solves this new problem. But then it may reappear.
I installed the following softwares: CE Chinese Input
I thought it was the culprit, therefore i made a HARD RESET.
Then I tried other sfw, also trial Chinese Inputs.
But again this problem reappeared
Now I made a clean HARD RESET and NO sfw.
The problem reappeared.
Conclusion:
I guess something wrong in External ROM.
In fact in Device Information:
ROM version 1.4200 WWE
Radio 1.13.00
ExtRom: NONE
Do you know how to UNLOCK the ExtROM and then install 1.42 on it?

i have the same problem today. it has happened before. i think it is a glitch in the rom. i have hard reset and it went away before. this time no. i have hard reset and restore my backup and same thing. the culprit could be a bad wisbar install. that is what i think i did wrong, i installed wise bar and did not reset (forgot). then this morning woke up to the send button going to calendar. any suggestions. thanks.

I get a similar thing but my green button opens TomTom navigator
I also upgraded to WM5 and then back down again to the 2003 1.42

XDA IIs Blue Angel only blue screen Help please

first sorry for my english
But i have problem.
my o2 work perfectly but one time just stoped in windows ce. Then i restart using reset button and didn`t start. I see blue starting screen with red 3 lines versions but its no light vhen i connect to computer nothing happen. I try hard reset nothing. I try upgrade rom i can do it but still nothing
So after 4 weeks nobody konw what happen????
So this site is unusfull because uoy konw only how to do HARD and SOFT reset and thats it.
Nothing importANT AND USEFULL ON THIS SITE, Everybody are amateurs without any information.

Dead O2 Orbit

Need help...after 7 months of trouble free use my Orbit has suddenly died. It basically started last week where the phone would for no reason at all soft reset itself. After it booted up the clock would go back to its original setting back in 2006 & had to be adjusted again. The soft reset would happen without any pattern e.g. when I push the talk button when call comes through, when I try to open a program or even just pressing a button to wake it up from standby.
Anyway yesterday it did the same thing but this time it boots up to the O2 splash screen i.e. the blue screen with the picture of the glass building, & then just remains there with the backlight still on. I've resorted to a hard reset but again it will only boot up to the blue screen.
Any ideas?

Well... do u use any overclocking software ?? To me happend the same today morning... i used BatteryStatus overclocking tool @ 260 MHZ
I got a call from my dad, we talk about 5 minutes and than, one second to the other the MDA screen was black, made a softreset, booting to the o2 screen (i used Orbit WM6 Rom with MDA Compact III),set, made a hard renothing changes, once more booting to the Bootlogo...
Okay, so i tried it with bootloader mode and flash the rom, the same ****..., try the original TMO WM5 Rom, nothing changes... Now he show me the TMO bootscreen for more than 5 hours and backlight is also active all the time...
If i try to charge the MDA there is no LED lightening...
How have u sloved the problem ? New device ??

I'm having a similar problem and I have posted my symptoms here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=344335) , though I never overclock my orbit before. ANyone have any solutions? Thanks in advance

Freezing problem

I have a problem with my Artemis. I'll try to decribe the problem and if anyone can help me i will be thankful.
When is Power on it works few minutes than it freeze and screen desapears. After that I try to power but it doesnt work. It needs time to accept the Power comand and I don't know where problem is... (i thing that it's about temperature but i'm not sure)
I tryed to flash with later software and win mobile 5 but the same thing happens.
Any help?

Please specify which applications you have installed and eventually which ROM.
I strongly recommand you to flash your device with latest ROMs like Black and Blue one or others (see the Windows mobile 6 section of Artemis)...
A hard reset would solve your problem anyhow I suppose.
Are you overclocking your CPU with some software? like BatteryStatus for example?
Please let us know...

Gues i fixed the problem
It not was about ROM... I have tryed flashing with Black & Blue, Vanilla etc. but the problem was the same. When I put the Phone in the pocked it freezes. Meybe it was problem with cooling.
Anyway I used a tutorial how to upen the phone, i opened it, cleaned it (using spray for clean) and now it works fine i gues.

I had the same problem with mine....
The phone is fecked take it back to the makers and get a replacement..

I had the exact same problem with my P3300. It's a malfunction in the Motherboard. I've called the dutch helpdesk and because a hard reset didn't do much good the PDA was picked up later that day to be sent to Eurotwice, the repair station in Belgium. I got my phone back 2 weeks later, I started it and it froze again! So I immediatly called HTC Netherlands and again, the P3300 was picked up by UPS that afternoon. The second time I wrote a letter to the repair station and sent it with my phone. In another topic on another website I read that some other phone with the same problem had been fixed by replacing the motherboard. I got my phone back today and it works great! It hasn't crashed today, and I have confidence it won't in the future. So my tip to you and anyone who experiences this problem: Call the HTC helpdesk in your country and ask them to sent your PDA to a repair station. It might take a while but they fix it well! By the way, you have 2 years full garantee so it didn't cost me anything! Great service from HTC!

Had the same problem.
Power was on, then de screen went black and stayed black even after pushing the right upper side button. Had about 4.90mb free storage memory on the phone and 200mb on my card left.
Soft reset didn't work but a hard reset did!

I have the same problem for the last week
I tried to change Roms to original and back to manila, the same problem.
the artemis freeze suddenly without ant reason. after calls, before calls..
it's not wake up and it's show a blank screen. after few soft reset and battery replacement is wake up and work fine till the next time.
for now , I'm work with doppod original rom wm5 but no WIFI.
I think it started last week when I installs "B&B 5.0 love" rom, before that It work fine with pdviet manila2D.

problem upgrade my rom
I'm now have a O2 UK roms on my device.
I try update it to Touch 4.02, with the UPSL but it no working.
the bar with percents jump from 0% to 100% in sec. and I still having the same rom.
I read the uspl guide.
can yo uhelp me ?
