I was getting fed up of responding to friends txt messages using the stylus etc. i have it plugged into my desktop at work using the usb cable most of the day.
i found a tool that literally displays the pda in a window, giving u full control. now i just type my texts using keyboard and mouse on my desktop!

I've just installed that on my PC to control my XDA Orbit. It works perfectly. What a wondeful tool - thanks a lot!
I wonder is there a similar program for symbian phones?

Hi
i used to have an ipaq 2210 for my sat nav and a sony ericsson K750i mobile... i decided to combine them and got an O2 XDA IIs.
with my K750i i used a program called Floats mobile agent. It was basically a way of sending txts from my PC via a bluetooth link to the phone.
Is there any way of doing this with the XDA?
thanks

you can try this, not sure if it will do the job you want, but you can control everything on your device from your screen when its connected to your cradle, now i dont have a BT connector to use via active sync, but i would imagine, if you can get a connetion via active sync, then this will work.

Where can I find this? The snapFiles site doesn't have it.

Hello everybody,
I have the following problem with my o2 XDA III and I'm wondering if there is anyone out who has the same:
I want to use a Nokia N90 (which supports 3G) as a modem for my XDA III, and I want them connected via Bluetooth. I know it offers the dial-up networking service (DUN) so that my XDA III could connect to it. But the only service my XDA III retrieves is the "OBEX File Transfer...".
Then I tried another mobile, the Nokia 6630, which I borrowed from a friend. But again, the XDA III only retrieves the OBEX.
Finally I shuffled my cupboard and got my old Siemens S55. Now, the XDA III detected both the OBEX service and the Serial Port service.
Even an update (BT 3500 --> BT 3900) could not solve that problem.
I know the Nokias support DUN, and that's why I think the mistake lies in the XDA III.
I'd be very pleased to hear from you!
cbruehl, who liked (until now) his XDA III very much.
Hi,
Yeah, the bluetooth seems to be cripled to stop you connecting via another mobile phone and make you use the operator it's got a sim card for.
I would love to do this to - my blue angel is now my 2nd phone/pda/satnav and gprs is expensive - if I want to use cheaper gprs in it i've got to swap the sim card with my main phone :-(
I've looked about quite a bit but can't find any kind of info or workaround.
Ian
There IS a solution for this....
I downloaded the BroadcomCorp_BT1.6.0.600.cab from the XDA FTP server and followed this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=18052&highlight=btwizardprofiles
to the modified btwizardprofiles.dll. I modified the CAB file so that this (older!) version is installed (it's 1.4.1.60) and that works fine. I did manage to find another 1.6.0.600 bluetooth stack, but that .dll bombed out on me  and I could not get the stack to install. Hope that helps.

Which OS version (and build) as well as which version of BBConnect do you use ?
The versions are:
OS 5.1.342 (Build 15096.3.0.0)
BB-Version 2.1.2.31
Transportversion: 2.1.075
Systemversion 15.43.288.147
I donĀ“t konw what kind of problems do you have.....but I use BB since 4 yaers and I was very surprised that BB became newly form on the Homepage of T Mobile.
I had to register me newly, I had to establish my address newly and which still had to send me the service books repeatedly.
It work again good since then.
It will hopefully be ready at you soon, too.
greetings from Austria

I have a UK XDA Orbit and I have the same OS version as you but
BBConnect:
2.1.2.16
Transport Version: empty
Rom Version: empty
System version 78.195.150.150
Device Type :ARTE20000
Blackberry Connect Desktop for Windows comes up with an error when I try to connect to my Orbit.
I had it all working fine on my old XDA Mini but I had to use a Vodafon Rom for it ...
I already asked here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=295499 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=298713 and here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=289458
Any Hints or possibility for a copy of your BBConnect Software ?
Hi
I installed BB Connect on my XDA Orbit and it looked like it was going to work but when i went to Settings/Device Information/Identity, to find my PIN so i could change my device from XDA II to Orbit) it doesnt have PIN information! unlike my O2 XDA II which BB Connect worked fine on.
So i contacted O2 Technical help (they were as much use as a chocolate fireguard) but they say its not possible to work BB Connect on an XDA orbit.
If anyone knows a solution for this i would very much appreciate some help with this, i love my new orbit but miss my BB emails.
Wooley
Maybe we have to wait for this:
http://www.pcadvisor.co.uk/news/index.cfm?newsid=9092
I still don't think that will work because you need a PIN & XDA orbits don't have that!
Iv started using a application called mail2web & works just like BB.
Look Here:

EDIT: Change the phone model to Tmobile MDA Compact III
Click on the menu to see more tabs, click on Software/Konfigurationen, on the left side click on Blackberry software, you can download the client and the desktop from there, the SW is in english.
Works for me on HTC-P3300
could you kindly tell me how you set it up?
Many thanks
device not loading
i have just installed the T-mobile BB connect client and now the device is not loading and is stuck on the splashscreen, can anybody help??
Hi @ all
I'm using a HTC TYTN II and want to connect it to my CARPC (full working normal PC) to make phonecalls read and write SMS.
There are a few progs that work with "normal" mobile phones but not with PPCs.
It should be connectable to USB, so I can charge the accu whyle driving.
I tested a remote controller to control the PPC via touching the CARPCs 7" touchscreen, this works okay. But I need a prog that will give the sound form the PPC to the CARPC and the microphone input from the CARPC to the PPC.
My fav. would be a programm that can fully control the PPCs phone functions and but not required the sms functions.
I think you know what my problem is, and sorry for my bad english I'm from germany.
Man, I just started working on the same project! Although I only want to connect the PC to my in-dash display for simpler things like Slingbox, web browsing and talkstreamlive radio.
I found this in my searching...

Hope this helps and keep in touch as you progress and I will too!
Thanks

Thank you for the quick reply
mymobiler let you send sms to from your pc
ive tried both EveryWAN and mymobiler, but its very slow.
im after a program that doesnt necessary use the image of the phone, just a program which allows you to type the message and send.
Microsoft has a free downloadable app, which lets you send from your PC, however I don't know the name of it. I beleive it can use a USB or a bluetooth connection.
cheers mate, il have a little search for it.
Benny - try using "PocketSMS" from one of the XDA crew. Just run a search
Try Efficasoft's "Mobile Express". http://www.efficasoft.com/
Works fine for me.
