[game] starcraft {DEV Stopped due to lack of time}

hy all
i am working on stacraft port to ppc
this is an alpha port for wwga screen 800x480
using strategus engine
i hope that anybody can help me to speed up developpment
be carefull data files are identical but ppc is using different path

Status
007 has campain menu
2 terran campain maps
2 terran campain maps
removed protoss from campain menu (for now)
various bugfixes and increased stability
Instalation guide
1.unpack and copy coresponding ppc version (VGA OR WVGA) to your Storage Card root
2.unpack and copy pc version to your C:
3.insert original starcraft CD into drive
4.run starinstall.exe from desktop version (if it gives you errors your cd is not usable with it / works only with eng version)
5.copy fom pc verion to storage card
\data\graphics
\data\maps
\data\sounds(490Mb) or copy sounds from this post 97mb
6.run the ppc version of the game / for the nosound version you can delete the sound folder
THIS GAME DOES NOT WORK ON QVGA DEVICES / DO NOT TRY IT
INCLUDED ORIGINAL CONVERTOR IN PC VERSION
IF YOU WANT TO PLAY THE GAME YOU NEED ORIGINAL STARCRAFT CD (NOT BRODWAR)

They had little luck getting as far as you probably did... maybe they have some info that may be usefull to you...
Just out of curiosity, after its done will you consider vga/qvga resolutions too?

vga and wvga is possible
qvga is not acceptable because you can not see what is happening on screen
desktop variant even loads the map
for the ppc texture is too big and i will need to reduce the texture to something smaller and with less tiles
i will need to redesigh all maps after this
so i will need your help but first we need to load an reduce map on the ppc
i have also on xperia forum in my kitchen the link for warcraft II and transport tycoon

you can help me using the pc version
is the same data for both versions
and scripts folder is used for developpement
please open scripts and try to make menus for secenario game

hmm...hehehe... Im not a programmer, only play around in flash because its very simple to use.
I was offering more on the edition of images department, sorry... :/

well everything is in LUA scripts the menus the interface ...
i will have to play a lot to make it work on qvga, BTW it starts on QVGA device but as you know the resolution is a lil high for it

BTW: I can test it on my Diamond for VGA users if you wish!

i think there is easyer way to do it for VGA - this is WVGA and all the graphics have their sizes fixed ....
i will have to find my starcraft cds ... to start experiment on this

OMG if you guys can get this working on VGA as good as warcraft2 runs and as bug free I (and im sure many others) will donate!!!!!!!!!! HUGE starcraft fan here =)

WOOHOO....HUGE Starcraft fan here too. I can't wait for Starcraft II to be released. I have both original CD's of Starcraft I and Brood Wars. I still play this today. I have many more missions (maps) from users on the internet. Some are awesome.
I swear I will buy a WVGA device just to be able to play this game!!! I will certainly use my wife's Xperia to test it once it's going.

Why dont you try to run it on VGA, it will start, but some of the things may be cutted from the both sides

I was a fan myself, and I guess I still am, so I would like to help, let me know what I can do.
my spare time is very limited but I'll try.

I cant program, so I can only help on the images...

Wouldn't it be easier to get a working VGA game, since StarCraft runs in VGA natively? And if you want to make it WVGA, you would stretch the aspect ratio of the game?
Normally I prefer to have correct aspect before full-screen, but perhaps it's different on such a small screen.
Anyway, StarCraft would be the NUMBER ONE GAME I'd like to have on PPC, bar none. And, I do have a Diamond - so I'm quite biased towards the VGA version...

Amazing! Can't wait to see it, I really hope you bring it to VGA. If you need someone to help test it on a VGA device, my Touch Pro is at your disposal.

i fully agree. There has been talk of this a long time, looks like we are finally getting somewhere. Keep up the good work, I am sure many would be willing to donate, I know I would.

I've looked through search and ive looked at the list of applications on the wiki, which im sorry is terrible.
whats the point in having something called eagleeyes when no one that read that would know what it was?
anyway i'm wanting to know if there is a website like http://www.ipfun.org/ or http://www.iphone-shaq.com/ or http://www.iphonewiki.com.au/iphone-games/
they seem to show all the apps and games and what not for iphone as well as tell you about them and whats their good for or not.
i'm having great difficulty finding the programs i would like.
a good gps that works in australia
a few good games such as texas holdem
a good media player that will play my music videos and movies (coreplayer doesnt work as the picture is all jitty and jumps everywhere)
a what of making the volume button not so sensitive as i seem to press it by accident all the time.
and a good weather app that will work for my town, the ones you go to online have my town in them but the one on the htc touch hd dont have one within 200kms of me.
i'm also sorry if i offend or offended anyone i dont mean to, this site is a great website but it isnt in the slightest user friendly at all.
why cant there just be an XDA HTC TOUCH HD wiki, go in there and then its a whole website on what you need and want for the htc touch hd?

xtrakt ...awesome game for the HD and its a MUST HAVE - Full screen too
Real Dice MC poker to solve your texas holdem cravings.. downside is that it is not full screen but everything else works fine
Resco Bubbles ......great game similar to Teeter
Archibalds Adventure works great!!!
Boom Blox too..
Pocket Uno ..... Monopoly World .... Resco Brain Games.... Virtual pool Mobile..
These are the games i tested so far and works without any problems....
Happy gaming.....watch the battery usage though

This hasn't been done as it would take too long. List in wiki at present tells you which apps/games work. Its up to you to find out what they are.
Wiki is available for everyone to amend. If this means so much to you why not amend wiki yourself and create this improved list with descriptions of games etc
I agree that Apple help their customers better and provide information I would think was basic. Hopefully HTC will learn and hopefully improve
Would agree with previous person that Xtrakt was well worth getting on your HD, awesome game as is Need for Speed Undercover!!

well thats a good response from everyone, thankyou very much, ive never ammended wiki or posted on wiki before so ill give it a go and see what i can come up with.

ive now found a fiar few games, what about all the types of games that come on the iphone? like ifishing and the likes. there aqre a lot that use the gyrator type style to play the game. most of the games and apps ive found are real buggy and crash or arnt full screen. it seems that the iphone has better games and easier usage but the htc has more in it as its a windows device. it just seems really hard to get things to work!

just post the games, there are many developers that can fix the bugs andmake them HTC HD READY !

not too many for wvga out there yet im afraid. These are the games i have so far that work full screen 15 puzzle, all-in hold em by birdsoft, boom blox, monopoly here and now, pocketgrandmaster 4, resco bubbles, tiger woods 09 by EA sports, need for speed undercover with gsen support and touch support and xtrakt

see i like the games like resco bubbles and teeter
bubble breaker is good to still need to find a good holdem game.

i cant install apps on my xperia x1

hi sup you guys. today I have rly annoying problem. I finally got my xperia x1 and I love it but it seems to be impossible for me to install new applications.. e.g I downloaded numpty physics, I put it in "My Saved Games" folder, and when I tried to install it says "some_installer_that_I_dont_remember.exe is not a valid application". the same with everything else, can sb tell me what the hell is going on? maybe I have to hack my wm 6.1 b4 installing anything? help

installers for windows mobile are all in .cab formats, not .exe
to install the exe files you hav to run them on your pc while having your xperia plugged into the pc with activesync/WMDC connected!

okay, I found numpty physics2.cab , installed it in "My Saved Games" folder on my xperia and still the same.. "game.exe is not a valid blah blah application".. maybe I have to do sth with resolution? xperia got very high res maybe its the problem
EDIT: [new situation] I installed pocket UFO hunter from windows, it installed perfectly in my device, I go to games and turn it on... and it does some operations for one second and then just forgets and gets back to game browser
BTW: I hard SPL my xperia or whatever it was, and then installed http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=564028 that ROM. ROM works perfect but these 2 apps- no. Ill try some other ones

Hi just to let you know Numpty physics dosent work on my Xperia either. However there are heaps of free apps and games out there that do. (just on XDA alone, not to mention all over the internet)

this is a game extracted from the omina 2 rom, it was in lots of files to i made it into a cab. works on my xperia x1 but its a bit laggy (i hear the hd and omina 2 plays it smooth).

here is a like to the other omnia 2 game Pangya Golf. I cant get the game to work pat the menu screen, on another thread the guy says it asks for permission on a dll file (in the game cab, needed to make the game work) but i cant seem to get it to work, if anyone can look at the dll and fix it i would appreciate it. game is in korean language.

I have noticed that if u use xperaTweek like me the golf games dll automatically gets accepted. when u get to the menu screen, the problem on the menu screen is that the xperia screen is upside down and this is in this game making all touch points on the screen reversed, bit like running android on the x1, but only the touch points are reversed and not the image.

Me works, but the controls are rotated 180 degrees opposite of the image.

hey i really miss some games when i am sitting in the bus for 40 minutes every moring for my tp2 mobile.
is there enywhere to get free good games?
