Orbit lock-ups - P3300, MDA Compact III General

I have recently upgraded to an XDA Orbit and have twice now had a lock-up
under the following circumstances: I removed the Orbit from the cradle in
the car and diconnected the power lead. Copilot was still running and I
pressed the GPS button to return to the today screen. I then locked the
handset and pressed the power button to turn the screen off before placing
in my pocket. On removing from my pocket again the power switch does not
turn the screen back on and the phone has to be soft reset. The only other
function active would have been the phone.
On reset the handset remains locked and has to be unlocked before entereing
the PIN code for the SIM.
Anyone else had similar lock-up

Power Problem

My PDA2k seems to be turning itself off even when in use :?
I use TomTom3 in the car, and even when the power is plugged into the bottom it was turning off ever few minutes.
I just took a phone call and when I has finished talking I noticed the screen had gone blank and pressing the red handset didn't bring it back, the power button did. (I do have screen lock on).
Having said that, thinking about it, I was watching TV progs on WMP on the way home and it never shut itself off once :?:
Anyone have any idea what is going on? Is this normal?
I have an o2 XDA2 S running TomTom 3 with the TomTom cradle. I occassionally find that the pda just turns itself off.
It doesn't happen all the time.
I have also found that sometimes during a call the pda turns itself off and I cant get it back on by pressing the handset key, just the on off button.
Cheers
Fatzzz
click start>settings>system>backlight . . in here you can change the time it takes to turn off in not touched the device, 5 mins max.... also if you click button lock in system settings, you can set it so that when it happens, you can tap screen and it comes back on again.... tho i prefer to keep that off, otherwise it may ring people while it its protective case..
and going by all the software that is out for these xda's, you can prob find a programe /or hack to change it even longer if you need that!!!
But when it is on external power (plugged into the car using TT3), it shouldn't shut down at all. Aside that, when in use (when receiving a call) I wouldn't think it should shut down should it?
I have a seperate scren lock installed too. I found the built in one not enough. When it is in my belt pouch and I get a text, or connect to my BT car kit or something, it wakes it up. All of a sudden all the keys are being pressed (by the squeeze of the case) and all kinds of applications are opening!

Orbit Switching off

Has anybody else had a problem with there Orbit randomly switching it's self off. This usually happens when it's in my pocket (and I thought it was a mobile phone!!!).
Do you mean the black screen of death? As far as I could tell my Orbit is still responsive but the screen will not turn back on when this happens.
It's perplexing, but it has happened to me a couple of times- I usually have to remove the battery to turn it off and get it back to a workable state again.
No mine turns it's self off. I have to press the power button to reboot it.
If you hold the power button in for long enough the Orbit powers down (fully off) anything catching the button or perhaps a faulty on/off button?
Could be but I try to be carefull when I'm handling it and to not touch the button. It's turned off when I put it into it's cradle in the car before so I reseated the battery and thought that had cured it. Didn't take too long before it started again though. I'll probably take it back to the O2 shop and get the run around from them!!!!
its been a long time since the thread was written but I have the same problem---if you apply pressure to the back panel, it switches itself off for some reason....anyone else got the same problem?
oh yeh that is so true! I just tried it whilst reading it here and it switched off. could be just the way that it was made. although i suggest you dont keep trying it could be potentially harmful!.

SPB Traveler Issues In WM6

Is anyone else having issues with Traveler in WM6?
I'm using an AT&T based Pandora Kitchens ROM and I'm getting the following problems:
1. Screen is off, I press the power button to turn it on. The screen turns on and I see my Today screen or whatever program I was using when I turned it off but that's it, I can't do anything else. Screen and buttons don't respond. Pressing the call end button results in the short beep that it normally sounds when you're on the Today screen and press it. But I have to soft reset to use my phone.
The same problem happened a few times when someone tried to call me. I was watching my phone when I tested this. Screen was off, I rang myself frlom another phone, the screen turns on and the phone symbol appears next to the signal icon in the top bar but after that the phone freezes as above. Soft reset needed.
2. Phone is charging using the wall adaptor. Green light is on. I pull the power cable out of the phone and press the power button, nothing happens. I had to soft reset.
3. Turn phone on, tap Start menu, wait about 15 seconds before Start menu appears!
Any ideas?

Reboot on screen UNLOCK with power button

Guys,
I got a strange problem that pisses me extremly off.
My Desire reboots when I try to normal unlock the screen with power button :-/
Im running Cyanogen7 stable. Never had any issues.
The phone went into water a few weeks ago but never had any strange behavior. It was all right. Few days ago I noticed thy my screens suddenly light on and off on and off...as pressing the trackball over and over again to wake up the phone.
Also the volume went down automatically as by magic hand. So the phone kept it on vibration suddenly switching the volume down.
I don't know what is causing it, but it is definitely annoying and frustrating.
Any ideas on what can cause such behaviour? I tested all buttons etc. seems to be alright.
UPDATE 1:
I just found out about the VOLUME DOWN + TRACKBALL + POWER BUTTON shortcut to soft reset
the phone (reboot instantly) I think thats the cause of my problem. Anybody know's how to disable this?
UPDATE 2:
Solved. It must have been my trackball that was faulty (howeever it worked) and keep the phone
rebooting. I took it out of the phone (got a ugly gaping hole in the middle though)
Since that It works perfect. No strange volume up/n/downs and no reboot on screen unlock.
All of this was caused by soft reset being triggered when I tried to unlock the screen and clicking the
power button soft reseted the phone every time.

[Q] HTC turns off automatically Power issue

Hi there, I have a HTC one m7, recently there has been an issue where the phone would switch itself off while sitting on the desk etc. then i wouldn't be able to power it back up (even while holding power + vol down). I would need to plug in a usb cable in order to get it working again. once it boots, I can disconnect the charger and use it for the rest of the day.
upon inspecting the issue, it appears that applying any sort of pressure (where the HTC logo is on the back) or shaking the phone around, will instantly have it turn off. Any ideas?
Sounds like the battery may not be secured properly, or there is a short somewhere.

Click to collapse
This sounds like a hardware issue that needs addressed byHTC or verizon (swap). I wouldn't suggest taking it apart yourself to fix it.
