What screen size am I supposed to look for when getting these games? And also what are some good ones?
320x240 should be fine...last time i played java games was puzzle bubble...
whats a good site for them?
I would try GSM-Forums or Mobiles24
I tried downloading the last updated Pocket GBA and it does not work on my TP2. Don't know if it's just plain outdated or not compatible for 6.1. Does anyone know a good working gameboy advance emulator for the TP2/WinMo 6.1?
No one has a working gba emulator?
bumpppppppp
Anyone? Bump
What version of pocketGBA did you download, keep in minde it wont play GB or GBC games.
You could try running WVGAFix to set a lower resolution.

Sorry, I do not remember the exact version #, but it was the most recent update from Sunbug.net. I realize it only plays GBA games, but the loading the rom isnt the problem, it's just the emulator itself.
bumpppppppppp
PocketGBA works on my phone, PocketGBA rel.060526. Works with out WVGA fix, or should work. Only issues I ran into was getting the screen in the right postion. Its upsidedown and there is no option to rotate it, kind of sucks becuase zelda looked like it was running smooth.
Other then that let me know if you find a fix.
I know there has to be atleast one person that has a working GBA emulator on their Touch Pro 2.
I have a trouch pro 2 with wm 6.1 like I said I have it working however the screen in landscape is wrong and there is no way to change it.
Morphgears gba works great full screen and with keyboard support with KforTp, however its slow as hell in GDI mode.
Look here this is the only emulator that seems to work ok
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=565163
As much as a hate paying for software I might buy this, even if I think it should be free. I might if the creator speeds it up more and makes it run games smooth with sound.
On a side note does any one know how to switch the screen to portrat more while in landscape mode with out sliding the screen. On my mogul it was on the bottom but now there is nothing there because of touch flo.
Any ideas?
pocket gba don't work on my i780..what i can try??
I have Morphgear running in landscape by choosing RawFrameBuffer and using East orientation. Oddly, I use KforTP to map the buttons, but after they're mapped, I don't need to use it anymore.
SNES works great, albiet no sound (enabling sound makes the games unplayably stuttery). GBA games are so slow they are painful to play.
My question is, why did all of this emulation development get dropped four or five years ago? I wish someone would start it up again -- there are a ton of GBA games I'd love to play on the TP2.
Anyone have or know of a working gameboy advance emulator? I tried the latest version of PocketGBA, but the screen rotates the wrong way when I pull out the keyboard.
Anyone have a working emulator?
Morphgear works, but you have to purchase the GB & GBA modules (the SNES and Genesis modules are free). In Morphgear, you can change the driver to RAW and then change screen orientation to East and window size to Scale to Fit. Then you can map the keyboard keys as a DPad and have the game running full vertical resolution. The GBA games run very slowly, though. If you don't purchase them, the GBA game stop running after 5 minutes of play, so you can at least test it out.
If you turn on the sound the games barely run, so you'll have to play muted.

So if the games run very slow, is it even worth paying the $20 for the emulator?
Probably not. I had to stop playing FFV Advance because it was so slow. I moved on to Breath of Fire II for the SNES because it plays in real time.
It's a shame that all emu development for the SNES and GBA stopped ages ago. None of the emus take advantage of the new hardware.
OK here is my issue, I have a Sprint Touch Pro 2 and I just upgraded to the new windows mobile 6.5 rom. I am trying to get Pocket GBA to run in Full screen or....even half scree....hell any size screen would work.
I have a feeling there is no fully complatible GBA emulator for windows mobile 6.5 out right now.
I downloaded the newest version off
http://www.sunbug.net/board_contents/view/250/PocketGBA-GameBoy-Advance-Emulator-for-PocketPC
the cab wont install and however the .zip file will work just fine.
Any ideas or are there any 3rd party patches or is there a better emulator for GBA for wm 6.5 anywhere?
I can see there is no answer, possibly because there is no fully working emulator for 6.5?

nope not really. i've done some browsing for answers and it seems all emulators have some sort of issues with our phones (TP2/Tilt 2) in particular. they will run some games...but framerate, screen size, sound..or something or the other will be missing.
i would love to get GBA working on my phone and of course a playstation emulator to have some of the Final Fantasy games

That would be amazing if they were playable on the phone. the controller would obviously have to me emulated though the keyboard. btw, asiancuta, do you have a ff9 game?

used to own it, but unfortunately not in many years now lol. but i'd hunt for one on ebay, if i know for sure we can have an emulator that works and FF can run on it at 50-60 fps. i've been an FF fan since the NES first one.
FPSece is a PSX emulator that works very well on our phone, it can run somegames a full speed without sound.
http://www.fpsece.net/downloads.htm
Makes me sad when I see a PSX emu running this fast and I cant even get a SNES/GB/GBA emulator running a full speed with sound. We need these emulators to be updated with some better faster code. I know it possible with the hardware in our phone just no one with the skill willing to take the time to do it. Not like I blame them I am sure they have better things to do then make emulators for us.
Awesome to see there there is still some old school FF fans. For the last few months, I've been building a Tetra Master game for WVGA. its at v0.60 "missing the AI still". If your skilled at the game, you could be a beta tester for me. if you know C#, then i would love some help on how to add mp3s into the program.
the game has everything the PS game has, plus more features that SHOULD be included "buying/ selling cards and a non-cryptic tutorial"
Just if people are searching, as far as you're looking to play GB or GBC, I think the registered version of SmartGear is great. Game running, screen orientation and key mapping are ideal.
So far I can't find a sega genesis emulator or an NES one that doesn't suck.
I've tried a couple NES emulators and NEStolgia is the only "Decent" one I've found but it doesn't support more than 1 player for the xbox 360 gamepads like the SNES one I have does.
Sega I just can't find anything period.
Also has anyone tried playing playstation on this yet?
Edit:Retroarch has multiple player mapping.
Retroarch 1.0.0.2 has a large selection, but can be a little difficult to use.
It has the only known working Sega 32x emulator for android via Picodrive which can run Knuckles Chaotix, but sadly not the prototype builds from Sonic Retro.
The N64 and PS1 emulators within may work fine for you,but not for us keyboard users who lack analog input since there is no analog mapping.
You can enable a touch overlay to access the rewind feature and other features. (stupidly missing input mappings for rewind and forward)
Retroarch needs a complete overhaul of its input mapping by adding all system specific controls including analog as mappable buttons plus rewind/forward.
There is PPSSPP's stable release that can even run the homebrew SRB2PSP at full speed (35/35fps) after enough option tweaking in exception to Deep Sea Zone.
PPSSPP runs DBZ Shin Budokai at a near flawless 60fps after tweaking.
I recently tried the DOS emulator called MagicBox with W95.img and got decent speeds, and internet explorer actually opening, but sadly no internet access.
Someone needs to cut out the middle-man and make Windows run properly on Android WITH internet access and unbeatable speed.
Can someone point me to info for getting Windows CE on Android without replacing the ROM or unlocking the bootloader?
epsxe has no audio on the Kindle Fire HDX no clue if the Fire TV suffers from the same issue or not.
So there isn't a decent Sega Genesis emulator yet?
Whats the best SNES emulator? Would love xbox360 gamepad support but not essential.
Just want these 2, I couldn't personally care for N64 or PSE. After those classic games from my youth .
