I uploaded the extended rom for the MDA PRO English. Nice touch, it contains Dutch T9.
it's in the upload directory, called mda_pro_nl_extrom.zip
ftp://xda:[email protected]/Uploads/mda_pro_eng_nl_extrom.zip
(adding it to this post gave an error message)
This file is only 1.5 MB?
I suppose it is not the full ROM image. What does it contain?
I am trying to revive a dead JasJar and wondering if this is the correct thing to load.
It is the Extended ROM, not the OS Rom, and will therefore only contains the English T-Mobile additions.
hi its only 1.28 mb..im guessing its not the full version.. can you poist teh full version tahnbks
@ Wiz,
would you know the actual application name of these cabs? I'm just wondering what are the included apps that are not in JasJar
** dont want to run each cab to see what's worth it or not
thanks!
How did you access to the extended rom? I tired to access to it in order to remove the Arabic support of my JasJar, but I cannot get it, the soft of my 9090 do not seems to work
Thanks !
I used www.ghisler.com Total Commander for PocketPC and typed in \Extended_Rom\ in the command line and pressed enter. I then copied everything to storage card
Could you please indicate which one installs the T-Mobile coloured dialer skin?
Another thing: there is no difference in available memory (both program and storage) after a hard reset with installing T-Mobile extended ROM or wihout installing extended ROM. This could be the case due to the fact that the installed software has approximately the same size as the CAB-files. As I have no access to the Extende ROM (nor Windows folder via ActiveSync) I am afraid that I am missing valuable memory after installing from the file of Wiz and that somewhere the CAB files still exist on my device. Does someone know where I can find (and delete) the Extended ROM and which CAB-files I should install and what the meaning is of each CAB-file?
Many thanks in advance

Ok it works thanks, but... it is on "read only" cannot erase some stuff
The Extended rom currently cannot be "unhidden" or "made writable". We need the experts from XDA Developers for this .... The only thing you can currently do is copy them to a storage card and install them manually.
Incidentally I was wrong about the file that does the T-Mobile dialer skin etc. The file that should not be installed manually is:
Enable_VT_RTPlugin_0727_2_signed.CAB,
(I justed tested and confirmed that myself
Hi wiz
cant access the link for the extended rom you have. can you please check and tell me how can i get that file?

well I beleive it is the t9dutch.ldb I can get it off my MDA PRo it is still with the crappy t-mobile ROM, if that helps let me know and give me your e-mail adress. But again I saw this file in the windows directory, so maybe I am wrong and you need the install for it
where i can get the rom?
O2 english ROM
Yes ofcourse there is O2 english ROM. U can get it from XDA ftp site.
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=BA_FTP_Site
and then click ftp://xda:[email protected]
go there and then open Map Uploads ----- then go to Universal File the last right side and then open ---- Shipped ROMs and there you wil see xda EXEC rom and download it : this is direct ite but sometimes it doesnot work:
ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Uploads/Universal/Shipped ROM/
Hi
Yes there is, I just did it and it works a treat! Its on the ftp site under shipped roms. Read the jasjar update guide elsewhere in this forum.
You'll need to install winrar in order to unpack the .exe from O2.
There are a few little oddities + if yr on t-mobile you wont want all the O2 junk. I'll post later what I did, I have stuff from O2, T-Mob and JasJar extended roms (but not much of each). An awful lot of sh1te comes with the device, and some simple messing is required to excise it.
I can tell you that in my experience:
- JasJar rom is slower than t-mobile (even before you install contents of ext rom.
- O2 Rom (with no extended rom) is quicker than MDA Pro rom
- O2 Rom + selection of cherrypicked cabs from mda/exec/jasjar runs better than t-mobile+tmobile ext rom.
Also, installing the XDA rom seems to fix the issue where the ruddy phone does not ring until 3rd ring when it is turned off. (I shall experiment with this more later) <--EDIT Nope, still does not ring until 3rd ruddy ring!
Anyway, i'll post a step-by-step, collating all the info from the helpfull chaps on here.
IMHO though, O2 run is currently the way to go.

And what about the German Hardware-Keyboard when I would install the English o2-Rom on my German MDA Pro? Would like to still have a German keyboard but an English OS. Like my Windows XP.
NiteShift:
You schould read
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=29354
to get a german Hardware-Keyboard on TM-MDAPRO (German).
The Software-Keyboard is branded into the english ROM
(JASRAR or XDA EXEC). You shoult install
http://www.resco.net/pocketpc/keyboard/default.asp
RESCO´s Keyboard/Pro to overlay it.
I´m using german`s MDAPRO with O2 XDA EXEC because
german MDAPRO crashes often.

Hi,
I noticed there is a update available for the MDA PRO on the dutch t-mobile site.
Has anybody tried it already?
Can you post a direct link to the update? Nevermind, got that: http://www.t-mobile.nl/zakelijk/htdocs/page/service/hardware_updates/mda_pro_update.aspx
The worst thing is that I attempted to upgrade my Dutch MDA PRO with I-mate rom yesterday and... now I have a brick. How UNOFORTUNATE, just couldn't wait 1 day!! Will go to a local T-Mobile shop today and try to play a fool (I don't really have to play, I am a fool!!!) and see what happens. Maybe they'll fix free of charge (I still have a warranty).
cheers
This should be the link:
http://www.t-mobile.nl/zakelijk/htdocs/page/service/hardware_updates/mda_pro_update.aspx
The site is in Dutch
includes:
- ms push mail
- msn messenger (new in nl rom  )
- option to personalize icons on the today screen
- new comm manager
- the taskmanager has been included in the startmenu
its in english, has radio 1.10.03
and its alot faster then original tmob nl rom
Is it AKU2?
Is A2DP included?
On another forum i read that AKU2 is icluded and also A2DP.
Remote SIM access for Bluetooth carkit/headphone is also available
Bedankt voor de update !!! (Thanks for the update)
Does anybody know the differences/advantages/disadvantages between the 1.10.03 and 1.11 radio versions?
What's the influence on the battery life? Has it improved or is it worse than before?
I unlocked the phone first with the buzz program after that i upgraded it with the T-Mobile ROM. Now my mda is stuck at the boot screen after i updated it. anyone know what to do?
it shows:
R 1.11.00
G 42.45.P8
D 1.30.115WWE
With a t-mobile background.
see the following topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=43592&highlight=stuck+bootloader
also try search next time
I have updated my phone from Qtek rom to this rom and it's working very nice. gonna test it this weekend, but all things are in this ROM.
1 thing i haven't seen in other roms is the softkey app. with this app you can select what the softkey must do (other then contacts and calender).
How about the battery icon on the top bar? Can we replace it with time?
Can someone please really confirm if it has A2DP and AKU2 working perfectly.
I have an XDA Exec. I tried extracting the files, but it seems this one have different files with it. Can we still use this using the No ID Tool?
Can someone upload it somewhere? It is moved from dutch site now
it is not moved...

Hmmm.
I hate T-Mobile Colors otherwise I would upgrade...
Hey is it possible to upgrade WM5 device emulator ?? then we copuld just test it and see what it looks like
Bartjan! can you post some screenshots ? I am interrested to see what the - option to personalize icons on the today screen looks like
Plus is at a decent task manager ??
Regards
Man, just change the theme. What's the problem? The default Windows Mobile theme is included.
I know but the Phone dialer theme is a problem, because if you change it to default in the registry then you loose the video call functionality
Is this rom in english?
I would like to upgrade my mda pro with this rom, it would appear it is english but can someone confirm this please?
As to my knowledge the MDA PRO ROM of the T-Moboile is WWE
But I have not upgraded yet so....
Hi everyone,
I'm looking for someone who already managed to upgrade a german T-Mobile MDA compact III to WM6. Has anyone experiences with this? It's my business phone and I don't want to break it.
1. Is there any chance to reflash the old WM5 ROM if something goes wrong?
2. How can I save the old ROM!?
3. Do I need to setup any regional settings if I use the O2 ROM for example?
Thanks for all answers!

You shurely can use the O2 ROM. Regional settings? You can change the regional settings in the ROM, but you don´t neet to if you use the german version of the O2 ROM.
There is a way to make a backup of your curent ROM to a storagecard. Use the search..
You should make a backup of your pim (contacts, tasks, calendar etc.) with PPCPimBackup because you can restor them with thiis program, but not with SPB Backup..
Is your phone sim- or netlocked? Normally the german tmob devices are..
IMPORTANT: You can update - but before you flash your rom with any new os (like the O2) do the "uspl" (CID Unlock) first!
Look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=308242
I have updated mine. Everything works fine, but the menues are in English.
The phone must be CID unlocked then you can flash any ROM you like. You can also find a CAB for T9 input in German.
Ciao
Thanks a lot guys for all the information. I'll report later if it worked...
Success
Thanks for all your information!
Everything worked fine.
At first I tried to make an backup, but I was not really successful, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=312871&page=5
But it didn't matter because I found a german wm5 rom for t-mobile:
XDA-DEV FTP -> "Uploads/Upload/Official MDA Compact III ROM/MDA Compact III German.exe"
So here is a conclusion for all noobs, like me:
1. Run USPL, get it here and read all the stuff: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=311403
2. Patch any ROM you like, for example one of those: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=362 or get one on the xda-dev ftp
I tried three or four of the ROMs from the forum, it was possible to flash them all, but I had to try it twice to "remove" the german O2 ROM (flash another ROM over the O2), but maybe I did something wrong in the first place.
What I would finally like is a T-Mobile branded german WM6 ROM. If anyone could give me some tipps where to start, I would appreciate it. I think it should be possible to extract the german O2 WM6 OS and somehow mix it with the T-Mobile stuff from the WM5 ROM. I know there is a lot information here on the forum, but any hint is nevertheless very appreciated
