BatteryMeter overclocking on O2 Orbit - P3300, MDA Compact III General

As title says I used said program to overclock my O2 Orbit to 286mhz or so it says on the homescreen. However in the settings screen of TCMCP program it reports the clock speed as 250mhz. So which is right?
By the way at this setting the phone zips along quite merrily. More than adequate for my usage pattern.

hey..can u send me the batterymeter file as on attachment..i cant find it anywhere on da web..!! thanks..!!

can u post the cab here, thanks

It's probably batterystatus. Works well with the artemis.
http://www.chi-tai.info/cs_BatteryStatus_XDA_Neo_WM5_iM_cs.htm

wats the safest that you can over clock it to?

don't know. mine's fine at 247 but others clock faster.........

have it running at 260 and only had one lockup during the past 4 weeks using it. no clue upto now though if lockup was due to batterymeter and chosen speed.
cheers

I have CPUScalar enabled ion BatteryStatus with min=162, boost=260, and original as 201 and CpuSpeed @247 .... for me this works fine. If I have 273 set as boost parameter it locks at times.

I presently use BatteryStatus with an overclock to 260 which I can switch to on my Today screen - I'd rather have dynamic overclocking, is there a best solution? I seem to be missing ranged-overclocking on BatteryStatus.

Hello EazyVG, it looks pretty the same what I have with just one difference: I have min=143.
Do you think that this low speed could cause my problem that the device sometimes does not wake-up on incoming calls and sms's ?
thormdac, what do you think about above statement ?
BTW, EasyVG, did you checked the boxes with "Set on Softreset" and "Remember Last Speed" ?
Actually I think it's no use to check the "remember Last Speed" if you use Scaler. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Has anybody overclocked Artemis with omap clock?

Hi Artemis owners. I want to know if any of you has tried the various overclocking versions of omapclock on your device. I just cancelled my order for trinity and paced one for artemis. Initial decision to go for trinity was more for speed, but I just changed my mind.
Do we still need to dope this gadget for speed?
Victor
Yeah.. this is an almost perfect device for me.. but the speed turns me off. Someone told me it works faster than a stock 416Mhz device after overclocking it... and he used an 818pro before.
So victor.. you've used the 818pro.. what are your views on the OMAP processor?
The battery statusand omap clock program by Ikarius in the prophet section was super on my prophet. Now that he has added onto it I believe it would be even better
Victor
The weak processor is also a big turnoff for me in this phone. The Spb Pocket Plus today screen with the large icons I think is perfect for the mouse, but it seems the Artemis cant even handle it at times.

Stuffs like keep your MP3s playing in the background while running tomtom or surfing the net. Let us know if you notice any unacceptable lag. Thanks!

Overclock Artemis (P3300)
I overclocked it and using it for the last twodays. Used omapclock @ 252mhz, no problems so far.
My experience is the same as Cavadias, I have been using my Orbit with Omap clock running at 252MhZ and it works fine with applications such as TOM TOM 6 and push mail in the background.

In that case, those who do not need UMTS have an alternative to Trinity if speed is the main deciding factor
To clarify I used the Omapclockplus v0.0.4 continuous overclocking for your wizard (See threat). It works.
I've overclocked compact 3 to 252MHz, it's stable to run tomtom6, as 262MHz cannot run tomtom, but other programs is OK. If using file explorer to opened windows, it was almost need 45sec to explore all files as normal MHz, when overclocked to 525MHz it will be fasted about 10 sec.

There is a known issue here with the windows file structure so even if the device is not over clocked this folder will take ages to display the contents. Using resco explorer seems to be quicker !

Ya managed to get the Dopod already? Seems to be it's only avail in China and Taiwan. Still waiting for it's launch in Singapore.
May I know whats the AKU version of your device? Thanks!
Guys.. I got a quick question..
When using BatteryStatus.. if the plugin is active under my Today settings, but under options, I untick the "show splugin"
Does it mean my device is still being overclocked? Any other methods to check if it's running at full throttle?
Thanks!
I have been overclocking at 232 and it works fine. Judging from what others' say I could probably push it higher.
I would also like to know if the program works in the background even when it is not set to sho on the today screen.

If you have TCPMP installed, you could check the clock speed in TCPMP's general settings page when you have the BatteryStatus plugin hidden. This tends to report slower speeds than Omapclock, but at least you will see if there is a difference. (Mine says 240 in Omapclock and 225 in TCPMP). Good luck.

I was under the impression that the Hermes wasn't really overclockable...
I played with the trial version of Hack Master, I set it up under/over clocked. I got some screen flicker when underclocked below 300mhz otherwise it seemed like it worked, I didn't try any benchmarks though. Give it a try. I'd be surprised if it doesn't work for you.
I don't know about WM6.1 though. I tried it on WM6

there is no way to overclock hermes. the procesor change it speed accord the needest of procesing. the can vary trougth 100 to 400 mhz. the hacker master software only show the speed but it doesn't change it on the procesor. this is the best way to safe battery power, cause less speed >>> more battery.

So your saying you can under clock with Hack Master, but it actually doesn't over clock above 400? I know it underclocked my hermes as I could see the screen flicker change with lower MHz. I'm gonna have to install their newest vers. and try some bechmarks. Unless aliencurv gets some results....
I can see that it would save battery with the underclock...

you cant change the procesor speed with any software. hack master only show you the speed that you have configured to change clock, but actually doesnt do anything.
the procesor speed is managed by itself.

Try loading the trial version and drop your processor speed to 200mhz and see and feel the drop in speed. Your screen will flicker too. Is it changing something else. I know last summer it didn't support the samsung processor, but it is now listed and it definitely does something to my hermes...

Search In Hermes Forum
Do a Google search in the Hermes forum and you will find a thread that was dedicated to this subject. I believe the conclusion was that, at best, one of the applications to overclock could be increased by, at most, 10% before resets were required. That may have changed with the release of version 4.3? of Pocket Hack Master this past January.

Overclocking

I have set my Dash to 240MHz from i guess the standard 201MHz, however it doesn't seem to be any faster. I've tried multiple tasks at the same time and I just can't feel a difference in speed.
On the system info it always shows 201MHz regardless to what clock i set it. I also don't notice a difference in battery consumption.
How can i check if the Dash is indeed OCed that what I set it to?

The only way I know is to go back into OMAPClock and check what setting you have it on. I don't know of a way to see the current clock settings. I can say this-- Your phone's speed greatly depends on the number of applications and programs you have running simultaneously. If you have a lot of stuff going on at once, then you may not notice the difference in speed from 201mhz because the 240mhz is absorbing all of this activity. I noticed a change in my phone's speed when I first o/ced it (significant enough for me to notice a difference), but after a while my S620 became loaded down with all kinds of programs as I began exploring the wonderful world of modding. Now it runs at a decent speed.
I keep my phone very light. Only on there what I really use. The OMAP says 240. I'll keep it at 240 for now and see what happens. If I can see reduced Battery life over the next few weeks I guess it must be working. I'm not sure if I can go 1 step higher.
My old dash burned out on a hot Florida Spring day with a (I believe 252 OC). So I'm also kinda worried about the heat (internal/external), but as far as I read everything should be just fine at 240MHz.
you can benchmark it using sktools

I'm not quite ready to upgrade to WM 6.1 with some problems I've read about. I did, though, download OMAPCLock and it works great! The small problem is that it is buried in File Explorer, and I would like a shortcut on the Start Menu. Not being a programmer (like most of you), I don't know what "arguments, file paths, etc." are. I can't copy and paste to Windows\Start Menu cuz it won't let me. Is there another way without getting Total Commander cuz I don't really want to keep adding programs to my Dash that aren't absolutely necessary?
Never mind. The Surreal Networks OMAPCLock app gives me the Start Menu shortcut and Homescreen Icon. The first OMAP program I dl'd was from freeware.com and will not delete. It says there is a sharing violation. Anyone know how I can get it off my phone?

HTC Hermes overclocking

Hi folks!
How can the HTC Hermes overclock. Did it with some tools tried, but rather less successful. Batteerystatus no, xcpuscalar, overclocked but not really at 472-500 MHz. And with the PHM I can overclock well, but then does my GPRS connection to the Internet no longer work.
Is there a way to change this?

Although it is possible to overclock Hermes it cannot be done relyabily or without damaging the CPU...
Some utilities may allow an active and practical overclock but I wouldn't advise it...
As you may know, if wou want your Hermes to be more responsive, performant, you can increase your ROM page pool size prior to flashing.
Cheers.
it might not be able to overclock.. but, should be able to keep the cpu locked at 400mhz and not throttle to lower speeds.. which would make it much more responsive.. I've been meaning to test this

The CPU is always at 400mhz. Wtf are you talking about?
no its NOT always at 400Mhz.. it has auto speed scaling built in. something is not right with both tcpmp and gxmark benchmarks.. using the newest PHM I manually set the lowest possible speed of 251Mhz, and disabling built-in scaling thinking of past knowledge that it doesn't do anything to our devices. I should not see any difference right? well visually it is MUCH slower than setting it at 400Mhz with both programs showing the same score at both speeds.. this CANNOT be correct.. I can see it with my eyes a night and day difference.. 420 seemed stable but the scores were showing slower than factory clock.. whats going on here?
this has been gone over so many times in the forum its not even funny any more.
use the search facility...
yes I know, I've read the overclocking threads from two years past.. ever considered newer software might change things? It does identify the processor correctly as a S3C2442A. I still want to know the answer to why benchmarks aren't reporting correctly.. BTW this thread should be moved
here are some results.. with a fresh boot I loaded a 39306KB AVI movie in CorePlayer 1.2.4. I ran its benchmark and also timed it with a stopwatch. The benchmark reported 1.60Mbit/s @ 3 Minutes and 21 seconds, also correct on the stopwatch. 321994752 bits divided by 201 seconds comes out to 1.601 Mbit/sec just like their calcs. Now I opened pockethackmaster 4.33 and set the clock to 420Mhz and reran the coreplayer benchmark. Here's the wierd part, the test reported that it took 4 minutes and 2 seconds with a 1.33Mbit/s rate but in actuality it only took 2 minutes and 58 seconds according to my stopwatch. Do the match, thats 1.809 Mbits/sec real throughput. So overclocking DOES work.. pretty significantly if I might add, but it appears that the timers used in these benchmarks are skewed and not reporting accurate numbers. Someone else try some tests and back me up here.

But then you lose Ram, and when you only have 30 or so mb's of it to start its a crapshoot.
sure, it might make some of your videos or games faster but you'll most likely have problems with any data connection
PHM can brick your phone to an irreversable state, and xcpuscalar falsely shows an increase in processor speed. Battery status will not work for the hermes, and I don't think there is a program that will overclock a hermes CPU. As for the not constantly running at 400mhz, that is not a bad thing. Think of it as a P.C., when you are not running apps, there is a system idle process that occupies the majority of the processor, meaning that not all of the speed is utilized. If this is the case, that means that the processor is not running at full speed. Same goes for the Hermes, however there is no system idle process, just a slower clock speed. When you open an app it will reach, but not go over 400mhz.
pleas see attached zip file
this program give you the ability to overclock the hermes up to 420Mhz
i tested it - and at 420Mhz the device becomes slower and some minor flicks of the screen
i went back to 400Mhz and the device went back to usual operation
regards
edward
I too have tried various clock speeds but at the end of it all i left it default as the device was too unstable.
Also I have of course continue my attempts to overclock Hermes, but I am no satisfactory conclusion. At the moment I use xcpuscalar have all possibilities of tuning 500mhz switched on and it is stable. A benchmark I have not done, so I do not know exactly whether he has speed. But the belief puts mountains.

It seems to help to disable radio (only Phone OFF) and plug the phone into the A/C charger.
This is a very early test version ....most users at HTC Diamond an Xperia confirmed that it works.
More tweak options ...lower/higher CPU speeds will follow, like i said this is a very early beta but it seems promising. For now it is only 768MHz .
Hi, work me it "works".
You have to disable all plugins on today (touch flo, titanium) and then it works.
In SK tools integer benchmark I get 485 points, 331 on standard frequency, which is I mean huge difference. But solitaire works for 5sec, then freezes. Igo 8 loads to main screen and then freeze....

And I had to disable my Phone on comm manager (the option between fly mode and bluetooth) if I don't it freezes. But once you run the overclock you can turn it on again and it works perfect.
