I know there are a few posts on this, but I am trying to re-boot this issue.
I have a i320 and would love to see a ROM update, also The one I have seems to be dualband GSM and not triband, wonder if a radio upgrade will fix this.
THanks

Hi
i found this firmware don't have tried it yet but this is it in the case
Hi,
I have a problem and after doing a massive research I found this forum and I am wondering if someone could help me.
I have been trying to locate ASUS P550 for several weeks now and although it's sold in the UK as Vodafone v1520, it's modified for branding purposes and no good. At least I think it's not good. After talking to ASUS support I found out that the model is also for sale in Russia and Ukraine as ASUS P550, but unfortunately the WM6 on these devices is Russian.
Before deciding on buying the device I wanted to know if it would be possible that someone with the necessary skills and knowledge would be willing to try to change the language to English. I noticed that someone has done something similar for previous ASUS models like the P535. What I had in mind was that I would buy the device, export the ROM image and let somebody have it for modyfying / testing.
I have to say that I don't know much about smartphones and/or PDA-s besides what I have read and that is that the language cannot be changed simply by a push of a button like a normal person would expect. I also don't know much anything about ROMs or handling them, therefore I don't know whether it's possible to modify the ROM at all without the specific device in hand.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Nobody knows nothing?
OK, I guess I am in a wrong message board.
I would have paid - and I still would - $100 for this.
I have the vodaphone version v1520 I am not sure what the difference is to the native version but its a great phone very fast and stable.
what do you think the other does that is advantageous and can I help clarify anything at all.
Thank You for your input. The answer to Your question is actually that after read some threads about the Vodafone branding I don't think that one or the other has any advantages over the other anymore. I just could not get my hands on the v1520 (which is English of course) while I was posting this thread. But now I got one from ebay and it is delivered tomorrow. So no need for ROM cooking anymore.
Thanks again.
Ok mate
If you find anywhere to learn and get cooked roms for the device let me know I have searched and searched but cant find anywhere.
the device is good but cooked roms always are better than shipped roms.
I cant seem to find a forum on the device with anyone doing anything with it..
If you know anything at all pm me or post here
Cheers
ps if I learn anything I will let you know
OK, deal. What I was told in another forum was that since the device is so new and there isn't yet an official ROM outthere it's quite too soon to expect to see a cooked ROM. It just takes time probably.

Hi,
No similar question for our beloved Desire-Z/G2: is there a ROM with EAP-SIM support? Or any other solution to get it working?
I badly need that since my carier provides the support.
Thank you!

From what I can tell, that is between your sim and your network. "ROM support" does not factor in to the equation -- not required.

Hello, I'm not really agree with you, with our career, the EAP-Sim is actived but there no option to connect our phone to a wifi network using this authentification. There is a patch, available here "code.google(dot)com/p/seek-for-android/wiki/EapSimAka" and in the description, they said that it should be include in the source of the Rom. So, for me, ROM support factor in to the equation.
Sorry for my bad english
I looked over the wiki and it's a pretty simple patch to apply; just pick the ROM that you want, download the sources, apply the patch and build the ROM
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA
Hi, sorry for the location of the post, i wasn't aware that all questions went to Q/A (i guess half of the whole forum goes there then...)
About the ROM support: it is a ROM concern as it clearly needs an option to be activated, although indeed the network and sim need to support it.
About the patch: please help I mean i'm unable to compile a ROM or whatsoever. Can anyone recompile the Virtuous 2.0.0 ROM (with MMS fix) and include the EAP-SIM patch? That would be great!
Thanks
