My BA (MDA III) is Dead ... any help to relife

hi all..
sorry for that... But i am really very sad this night..
my sad story is:
i was Reinstalling WWE rom version 1.40.00 for my device (MDA III), when the prossece reached 8% of progress the upgrading program gave me an error message (belive me i don't remember what it was) . after that the device dead and no response for any action i have triad with it
even when i was trying to do soft / hard reset or trying to access the bootloader mode.
all what i have now is a device with blank black screen for ever.
by the way: my device was in GER (german rom) language at the firest time i gut ,and i have upgraded it successfully since 3 months ago.
What can I do?
help me please, Any advice will be appreciated greatfulllllyyyyy..

Were you trying to install WM2005? If so try the WM2005 method of getting into bootloader:
Record + Camera + Power + Soft Reset.
If not...
My device once went completely dead and I later discovered the battery had shorted or something and was totally drained. So take out the battery and charge it SEPERATELY. Leave the device with no battery for at least an hour. Thisll do two things:
1) Give the battery a chance to charge up
2) Totally reset the device as the backup battery will depleat.
Leave it for a mimimum of an hour (longer if you can) then put the battery back in and try turning it on.
Hope this helps cos im just guessing really!

If you got bootloader mode then you should be able to upgrade your rom to whatever you like.
Step by step insturctions are on WIKKI. The page for upgrading to the most recent ROM for the Blue Angel that IS NOT WM2005 is here:

If your device is in bootloader mode just put it in the cradle (activsync won't start but don't worry about that) and start the upgrade!
If you use MaUpgradeUt_noID (download and instructions on WIKKI page above) then it should just be a double click.
Basically just follow the WIKKI page above.

Moving from O2 WM6 to BB v 4

Hi all,
Plz bear with my ignorance when it comes to upgrading ROMS etc.
Basically yesterday I upgraded to O2's official WM6 ROM .... and find it "not so good". It is slow to respond etc( i found it slower than my WM5 )
So now I wanna move to BB4, question is how do i do it??
I have downloaded an Artemis_USPL from Prof. So what are the steps I need to do??
Is it ...
1) Run start_uspl.exe from the zip file and let it complete.
2) Run( double click ) the img-46785-Tom_B_B_v4_0_TouchFlo_Professional.exe
Is that all I need to do?
Also, if I brick it .... what do i need to do to revert to an original ( say o2 WM6 ROM) ... is it USPL it again then run the O2 rom??

yep, thats what you need to do. both 1) and 2) will need some user input and after it's done the device resets itself. so after 1) wait until restart is complete, then do 2).
for your original roms you dont need uspl. but if you are not completely sure, run it anyway.

Hmmm doesnt wanna play ball.
Did the above and ran uspl .... got stuck on a white screen. So I rebooted the Orbit and tried running the BB4 .exe ... got to 3 % and told to that .......
Error 270: Update Error. The image file is corrupted. Please check your update ultilty.

Can anyone help?? It will not upgrade ROM.
I keep getting the white screen and it cant run ROM utility(Error 224: Device not responding ).
I then reset the device and run BB4 ... I get to 3% and then I get error:270 ( image file is corrupt ). I have downloaded the ROM again and still get this error.
Any helpers out there??

I had the ame problem mate. What you need to do is revert back to the original 02 WM5 Rom which can be found on this forum somewhere. Then once installed, run uspl & then the BB4 Rom & hey presto your sorted.
For some reason i couldnt get uspl to work on WM6 02 rom either

Ensure that your windows firewall is disabled and also you shut down any anti-virus programs running on your PC
I also found that turning off all the plugins on the today screen helped me to upgrade my O2 orbit.
I went through the same issues as you with corrupted images at 2% , however following the steps above helped me.

The firewall was disabled and so was AV ... so not sure about next steps.
I thibnk I shall try downgradind to original O2 WM5 rom and then upgrade ....
question is where in this forum is that Rom!! I had seen it before but as usual when u dnt need something you find it and when you need it u cant!
Will keep on searching .... anyone know the link plz save me some time!

Downgraded to WM5 now .... and tried to run BB4 .... still no joy. Same error.
Maybe i'll try another ROM just to see if that works and if it doesnt then MUST be my PC or something.

Tried another machine ..... XP SP2 not FW or AV still failed.
Always get to 3% then crash.
HELP!!

Tried BB3.7 still no luck. 3% and crashes .... on 2 diff PC's.
I noticed that USPL runs ver 3.0.3.0 of the update utility but the actual ROMS when you launch them are running 3.6.3.6 ... does this make a difference?

Those are the issue no's of the rom upgrade utilities - it does not matter. It appears you are still not cid unlocked. whats your spl no? take it from first bootscreen.

SPL is 1.25.0000
IPL is 1.25.0001

The spl from uspl is 1.110000 so you need to run uspl again. Even if the screen goes blank wait till it says your rom has been upgraded.

Thing is when i run USPL and it gets to 100%, all i get is a white blank screen and nothing happens. So i have to reset the device.
Then i try and run the BB4 etc install and get to 3% before it conks out.
When I get the white screen ... what else can i do??

Some people had to run uspl 3 times in a row for it to work. Did you wait a while on white screen before giving up? I guess you are on 02 wm5 at the moment if not flash to that and try again. If you are do a hard reset and try again - few times in a row.

OK looks like USPL doesnt work for me!
Everytime I ran it under WM5 i still had 1.25.0000 and then i upgraded ROM to O2 WM6 and now everytime I run USPL it stays at 3.04.0000.
It doesnt do anything after the white screen ..... just sits there like a duck!
With so many ppl having succesfully done this surely someone can be a Wizard of Orbit??

Had same problem. Dont reset the phone but just if you see only the black screen, run the USPL update.

I have an orbit and uspl flashed first time from wm5 and wm6 - is yours usa orbit? If you really cant run uspl then it will need cid unlock from imei check - it costs but you have permenant cid unlock so you need not worry again.

Rom download problems

Hi, Sorry, I know a lot of you guys are guru's on here but just need a little help. I have an unlocked T mobile mda which I am running on at&t.It has the 2.26 rom at present.I tried to install WM6 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=324632 last night. Everything was going fine until the download reached 99%. Then it just hung for a while then gave me an error message '302'..From then on all I could get on the phone was the boot screen. I tried several times in boot mode to install again but same thing every time. I thought I had bricked my phone !
This morning I downloaded the 'lite' version from the same page and installed and hey presto, we are back to normal.
I don't know if WM6 is downloaded or not. I do get a different screen as it boots up now though..Firstly i get a screen with 'htc technology' written on it and then I get a screen with like a car speedometer with xda mobile 6 showing. Then it just comes on as normal......I don't know, All I really wanted was the 'touchflo' installed which I thought came with WM6...
Any info would be much appreciated,

Yes You download the new version. There are more different roms maybe you download wrong rom to your device. İf you download rom with no error message I think you download wm6 rom and you should make hard reset for your device than I think it will be ok soon

Hi, I seem to have bricked my Universal. Apologies, I did search the forum & wiki etc., I wouldn't say I'm an expert but I've upgraded/downgraded ROM & radio many times before
First I tried to flash with the rDosti, otherwise known as Tomal's - v7.7: WM6.1 Pro
The flashing process went OK, but then after I hard reset the operator splash screen comes up - the T-Mobile screen - and the version is listed as 2. THING xx, like it should. However, my device remains frozen at this screen.
I hadn't upgraded to Bootloader 1.01, it was 1.00 like the documentation in the thread said, so I did this and reflashed again, same thing.
Then I tried flashing with the T-Mobile official WM5 in desperation - the same thing happens, the text on the splash says it's WM5 but it freezes here.
Then I reflashed the bootloader and WM6 several times again with the same results.
Can anybody help me with this pretty please? Thanks for any help!

2days ago i got this problem .but now i recover my divice with '' mtty for remove all botloder imege . then updat with new rom.
first u have to know is ur divice G3/G4. then u flash with rom file

Hi, thnx for replies, but im afraid you misunderstood me somewhat.
The *upgrade* process appears to work, ie. Bootloader seems to work fine, the device freezes at the first *operator* screen*, where it shows OS & radio version - the t-mobile screen, NOT the bootloader.
I tried the "Exit_bootloader" app (=mtty?) with no success.

do 1thin u update another rom...make sure dat ur fone is g3/g4..then update. coz if u update the wrong rom dis wl happen...

Thanx. I own 3 universal & I upgraded another with the same ROM & it worked no probs. So problem is not with the ROM.
The device with the freeze is G3.

mamaich method
Step by Step :
get the tools at attachment , as mamaich told, you have to use it in bootloader mode , (Power + Light Bulb + Reset)
1. Stop Activesync USB connection
2. Uni : Reboot Bootloader then Connect USB
3. PC : Run mtty1.42.exe
4. Choose USB in "Port" (Reconnect if can't find/reconglize USB and try remove sim and sd card)
5. type : task 28 55aa
6. Press Enter
7. Cause DOC reformatted, so there's no rom in DOC ,try reflash any rom that you like .
For task 28 55aa in mtty success , will show the message (attachment )
DONE .

Phone bricked during flash of roms??

Hi all,
I have a huge problem and I hope you guys can help me. I tried to flash the orbit (german) artemis of my brother. First flashed the uspl and everything worked fine. At the end there came this penguin picture and the screen stayed black/blue. Then I flashed the rom (MossisROMV3.0GER Windows Mobile 6.5).
HOWEVER: Right then the battery of the laptop went down and the pc switched off. Unfortunately we couldnt plug it in, since we didnt have the cable with us. Now after pluging in the pc there were some connection error notices. Since I didnt know how to proceed I removed the battery of the artemis. I thought I should repeat everything from the beginning on. However the phone always got stuck at the blue o2 screen showing the data:
IPL 3.04.0001
SPL 3.04.0000
GSM 02.88.90
OS 3.13.0.0
Softreset and harrest doesnt make any difference. The phone always gets stuck here.
Is the phone bricked?? Why then does it start? Please help me out asap, since the phone is needed. What can I do?

first you are NOT CID unlocked (SPL 3.04.0000)
so you can only flash german orbit ROM on the phone to revive it
1. get to bootloader (press and hold the record button and reset the phone using stylus)
you will get the tri colour screen
2. connect the phone via USB to PC (no need to look for activesync/WMDC connection in this case)
3. and run the RUU (official O2 german ROM for O2 Xda Orbit)

BTW i have official o2 UK ROM in my 4shared account
look for the link in my signature

after installing a wm 6.5 ger rom i must say i dont like it at all. can you recommend me another one? i think one with htc touchflo would be great, but which one is it?
If i want to flash a new rom, do i first have to flash the original rom before proceeding?
