I have a XDA that will not boot furthur than initializing the ROM version, radio stack and the G324e4 at the bottom right of the screen. I have tried to load a bootloader via sd from another XDA and have tried running the XDA tools bootloader app with no success. Does anyone have an idea on how i can fix this? I have been following these threads for a long time now and have become an experienced user. With this XDA, Im really willing to try anything to get it booting correctly. Thanks in advance. -Justin
I forgot to mention that the bootloader does work normally otherwise, all options are fuctional and the ROM is flashable. It just wont fully boot up.

Ok all,
I'm a dev. I compile kernels, AOSP, cook roms, etc. Which is why I feel so stupid lol Whenever I try to boot into recovery from my phone I hold in the power and vol down keys. This loads up the bootloader and then I reboot into recovery from that menu. This worked for the longest time. Now however, whenever I try this it stalls when it checks for PC36DIAG.zip, the first one it looks for. I don't understand why. Whenever I try to do adb shell reboot recovery it works flawlessly. But it would be useful to boot into recovery without a pc or adb. Any ideas why this is happening?
Same thing happens with me and its annoying I agree. I don't know why it checks for that image each time:/

I know why it checks for that image. It checks for a number of them. HTC's bootloader checks to see if those images are on the sd card so you can flash them. It's how the RUUs work. Thing is it's supposed to check and if the zip file doesn't exist it's supposed to move on to the next one. Unfortunately this doesn't happen. I'm wondering, is it the engineering bootloader we flashed? Maybe there's a bug in it?
I have a custom built Rom on my Evo and I have what may be considered as a stupid question. When I go to reboot and it gives the list of options, I noticed an option called bootloader. I was just curious as to what it does?
Can anyone help?

Boot loader is like the bios screen on the computer.
You can do certain functions from it such as flashing. The bootloader functions can be considered as a sort of last resort. Most flashing is done through the recovery program (similar to a hard drive imaging program). If you can't boot into the boot loader and your recovery is hosed, your chances of debricking the device are slim
Thanks a lot. My recovery works just fine. I guess I really don't have to worry about it.

i have purchased a 2nd hand desire z from someone, i noticed it has clockwork and rom manager installed, i think it also has super user rights. I also noticed that the rom is Virtuous 1.0.1. Thinking this meant that the phone was already rooted, i used rom manager to download and install CM7, however it caused the phone to be semi bricked, then i also realised that the phone was also S-ON.
Fortunately i managed to reboot the phone into CWM and restored the previous image, so now the question is, what is wrong?
PS. new to this whole android thingy..
hmmm... sounds like MAYBE you had a temp root?? Is you had superuser you definitely had some form of root, however, i am not sure you can flash a new rom if you dont have S-off (but i could be TOTALLY wrong here)
I have an Evo (and dont have this temp root issue), but i am helping a friend with a similar problem with his G2.
Can you get into recovery? (while phone is off, hold the volume down and power on the phone) If you can, do you have Clockwork recovery or stock android (says 3e at the top i think)?? If you have CW, just enable USB, download a CM7 through your computer, put it on your SD and flash it. SHould be good to go.
If you have stock recovery and S-on.. WELCOME TO MY BOAT... I am trying to find a solution to this for my friends phone. If i figure it out, i can let you know (please do the same??)
I am having the same problem, with the same rom. I can use all root apps, but it says S is ON? I can't put any other rom on my phone with out it going into boot loop or just staying on, HTC screen. Some one please help us, I know there are many phone guru's on this site. Any help would be over the top. O-yeah and I can not get the wifi to connect either says error or turns it self off after scanning? Please please please help. Thank you in advance.

i ran into a unique situation with my experimental r800x... i rooted it and got CMW recovery although i have a locked bootloader. i tried installing a stock based custom rom and was successful. the only problem was i forgot to wipe my data clean which i believe is causing me to be stuck in spash screen. i have no idea if it is a hard brick or not.
the situation is unique because i can still use adb... but i cannot use adb shell, i tried booting into recovery but i am still stuck in spash screen. is there a way to fix this problem? thank god i did not do this on my brand new xperia =P
edit: reword
use flashtool to flash the stock rom and try again

ok ill give it a shot, i messed with flashtool a little but had little to do for me since most of the things i explored required fastboot.
UPDATE: ok i figured out that i was supposed to put the ftf files in the firmware folder... is say 'preparing files for flashing'... but the loading bar has not moved for a few minutes now...
UPDATE x 2: its flashing, it turns out i needed to install drivers for my phone to be recognized. the stepping stone helped a lot man thanks!
HELP!!!
Hello,
I'm sure that i have messed up my R800x. It is stuck at the Sony Ericsson logo when i try to boot it. This happened when I tried to flash my first ROM. It was a UK firmware for R800x(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1263183&page=6). I tried to get the hardware keys to work, but failed miserably, and here I am. Can anyone try to help? Any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Skelutton

My R800x won't connect...
Sorry, I'm a noob
EDIT: Nevermind, i figured it out. Thanks!!!
Hi everyone!
I'm in desparate need for help . I don't know what is wrong .
I'm using htc desire z. I 've followed the guide of cyanogenmod to downgrade from gingerbread to froyo which worked out fine .
I then tried to root it with visionaryplus which didn't work, therefore i removed it and even made a factory reset.
I decided to follow the guide again from cyanogenmod for rooting the phone (can't post the link because i'm newbie)
I've done every step with success, and in reboot i can see S-OFF. But the only options i have are hboot, fastboot, and reboot options. BUT i can't choose anyone of them. The buttons volume down/up won't work and it just start checking the zip file and asks me to update again and again.
Therefore i can't unlock bootloader. I have tried everything , even a tool easyunlock but nothing works because i can't get into fastboot. Also there isn't a recovery option. I'm desperate because i can't even update back to gingerbread. The version supplied by cyanogenmod is asia region(probably because there language Thailand,Pakistan etc) whereas the last rom i have the stock one was european and i'm stack with it. I have tried upgrading it from the official htc site numerous time i always get an error about the model.
I also get connection problems with android market, i get the message "no connection".
Please if someone can help me i would be most grateful. I just need a functional phone at this time so if a custom rom isn't possible if someone could help me get back to the stock gingerbread i would appreciate it because at this point i'm out of ideas. I'm angry with myself because i can't figure out what i did wrong. The command prompt gave me only success messages. Something is wrong with the bootloader i suppose.
Thanks a lot everyone and sorry for the long speech
Take the PC10IMG.zip off your SD card, use fastboot to flash a new recovery if needed. Lots more info about your phone and how to root properly etc here

Thanks for the response.
The problem is that I can't select any of the options . It just boots into hboot without letting me choose the options. Pressing volume down or up doesn't do anything
Try booting to bootloader without SD card in phone
