[Q] Is anybody working on a GingerBread port to Wave ?

Hai Developers and my buddy Friendss !!
I am really dissappointed with Bada 2.0 (Delayed) and I wish to know whether anyone is working on a Port ...... ! I have seen the overclocking of WAVEDROID to 1.6 GHz (Great work mate Great WORK) and was thinking whether developers can port GingerBread on WAve !!! I use GS II and wwould like to seen that in my Wave too !!!
I am really amazed with the porting of Froyo to Wave !! I never thought that might be Possible !! (Hats Off the guys behind it !)

i only port for people who are in your condition (people who buy phones without researching about them i.e. what they offer what they don't and after a year or so wake up and decide that the want anderoid on the wave and then join a forum and post (AGAIN WITHOUT SEARCHING.....lol)in placese asking for anderoid on wave and only offering thanks and a bunch of silly questions regarding how they bricked there wave while flashing anderoid from a tut!)..

WOW an awsome web site to bad i am a real bada user and i am proud to be one
so i will not go and chenge to android
and just do you know all you madaf*&^&s STOP and think maybe bada is better and every way then any OS
but............................................
to bad the stopid samsung don't publish the bada os stronger then her stoipd galaxy s 2 bla bla bla etc....
and make the sdk esayier and more intractive (not to way you think perbers) for getting more develepers to make better and more apps to the system
and useless apps like a map for a small town at japan

we want stronger and more complicate games that use the all benefet of bada os
and why are the waves so low on system like take the wave 3 when all most the new smartphones at the market have better screen and better prosesers and more ram . RAM IT'S ALL WE THE HELL NEED RAM IT'S THE ANSWER!!!

Well ! I bought the wave because of its specs ! LoL !! I bought it on the second day of its release in Germany ....(actually i should have bought the G S I but due to my urgency I choose Wave) !
Your reply was nice but I Used the Search to find any post about this Topic (While posting a thread it automatically searchs for the thread that resembles this post but it didnt show any thing so I thought no one has posted this !)

oleg is working to port a fully working android 2.3 on wave. he said the work would be done on autumn but still no news from him. he is our last hope. all we have to do is wait wait and wait. have a nice day

There's an ocean between bada and android. Wave will burn its processor trying to port android OS..

Thanks for the Info mate !!! We need to put some money to Mr.Oleg and Boost him up !! (I will donate soon)

Oleg said that he doesn't want money, he simply likes messing with his wife's phone. Also we really don't have any news from him, so who knows if he's still working on the port. Just sucks that this is a one man show. Bada sucks balls, but the phone is awesome and cheap.

Does seem quite promising

You know it wouldn't be so bad if he did do a little deving an then left, but he literally takes everything with him when he leaves, then falls off the planet for a while.. but don't get me wrong, when the guy dev'ed he did a badass job, literally was the first person to bring us Gingerbread for the Vibrant, I'm just tired of (and I know others are too) investing money into a "hmm I'll stay, then leave, then maybe come back" dev.
Lol look I wrote a novel.

You don't try to get a dev like Eugene on your phone for hope that he can bring ICS, you try to get him because ICS or GB, he makes awesome stuff, and could attract other great devs.
The vibrant wouldn't have been what it is/was without him. I loved mine because of him, Whitehawkx, Roman, Sombionix, ttaggal (I think that was it), etc. Too many greats to mention.

CM9 ICS on I8150 Noobie Report

I'm not a developer, but i'm just curious with CM9 on my first android device (GT-i8150), so I try to build CM9 source + arco's ancora ics.
I didn't changed anything except Line 45 on device/samsung/ancora/device.mk :

because I dunno where the init.qcom.usb.rc is located.
Stuff that currently work:
Phone (Call,SMS)
Mobile Network (3G, HSDPA)

Bluetooth file transfer (only test transfer from GT-I8150 to my netbook)
Audio (Music)
Screecapture
Power (Power Off, Reboot)
Stuff that currently not work:
Camera
USB Mass Storage (idk how to enable it, no notification on statusbar)
Stuff that currently not tested:
Anything except above

Headphone audio also doesn't work, charging the phone is problematic, GPU is causing certain root applications todos crash, as well as a few other problems.
If you can't really tell what works or not don't do it. CM9 is far from ready unfortunately. You're giving everyone the idea that it's all fine and dandy

Have patience Dude arco68 is working on it...he has gone thru a bricked SGW thru out he dev.
It will be released I know he can do it....ROM dev. requires patience n focus...one wrong move n that's it...

Dude, that phone has much bigger user base...and much bigger developer base. Currently we have Arco and some other guys helping him and that's pretty much it. Read some posts in cm9 thread in this section and it should be clear to you.

Friend , I look at the CM9 thread many times in a day to know the status. I think more developer should come up to port the Rom from different devices.

In case you don't know developers don't fall out of the sky nor show up when magically summoned. I think we are pretty lucky as there is already someone who is working on cm9 and has the knowledge to port it.
But if you don't think so, go ahead and start working on it yourself.

this is the very old sentence , I have been listening this since I joined XDA.
You got me wrong. I meant to say that we should appreciate new developers by sharing the knowledge of porting/building so we could have more developers.
As I can imagine there are many developers here (i had this idea by different posts in W), some of them are web developers and some of them are desktop developers.
So if we could just point them to right directions then they would be also the Android developers.
So instead of taunting we should share, spread and welcome new developers also.
@arco is doing his best. But let me know the person who doesn't want a lot of Roms for our galaxy w !!!
If you dont have open source development knowledge then look for Ubuntu. How they are working together to achieve the same goal in a team work. they always welcome new developers by sharing and appreciating knowledge.

and my humble request is to please don't challenge anyone. there is nothing impossible in this world. Working in a right direction, and on right time with excellent knowledge, anyone can achieve impossible things.
what will happen to you if I challenge you for porting a single rom, What would be your feelings ?
99.5% peoples joins XDA to get some test of customized ROMS and for the resolutions of their problems. Then dont want anyone to challenge him.

I think the reason of Galaxy W having few developers is the absence of it on USA and some other major countries. As far as I know, I didn't see Galaxy W on Samsung's USA and Australia websites...(and maybe Singapore?? I forgot)
When I first signed up at Mycolorscreen to submit a modified screen of my phone, I didn't see any Galaxy W so maybe that's a way to tell that Galaxy W isn't very popular worldwide.

after my xpirences wit evri rom under galaxy Y GT S5360 development i cam to discover myself dat theres no rom dat gives smooth performance if we install a few apps more.neither repencis nor creeds n etc arent fast if im using more apps.

this is not an equal comparison
you never use cm7 on sgy. how could you sure that it will have better performance than modified OEM rom?

Well , i think its too early to underestimate our galaxy y. We can't say our galaxy y has got nothing , and above that its constantly being developed for the better. I remember when i bought it it was like irritating to see it having bootloops and battery drains but now a lot has changed and its performance is much much better. My device is absolutely beautiful now, thanks to Doky's stock ROM, Ussrv5 ROM for beauty , savies kernel for performance and kuros kernel for battery to name a few. I think we should have patience and help in this device's development . we maynot make ROMs and compile kernels but at least try to find out certain solutions at our own levels and contribute in our own manners.

I didn't see any reason why did you feel offended by our post. personally I see your request is a riddiculous one. you want the dev to create something to make your sgy have 3000+ antutu benchmarking score. it will be as if you ask someone to make a bicycle running at 100mph. yesterday I visit galaxy ace thread and their antutu score is ~2200. that's not too far with ours. if you see repencis thread there are even someone with ~2100 antutu score using repencis rom. considering the hardware spesification between both sgy and sg-ace, the devs here have created miracles. thats not the only achievement of our devs. in term of battery saving, with proper system modification many user have reported that their sgy only use 1-2% battery power for 7-8 hours. thats something you never could find in another device development

firstly.. .i too didnt see any resun y u feel offended by my post even wen i clearly written "no offence on devs".
secundly.....i havnt said our roms r slow,i said thy r slow wen v instal a few more apps.
thirdly... i mentioned their clearly dat d resun y roms being slow with such huge count of apps is cos sgy is itself nt dat much capacitive to weigh evri load,n bt its nt d issue vit d roms.

I am using 106 apps on my modified version of USSR 5 (personal use) I never felt that its slow,a bit lagy but how can we expect performance like nexus,if we are not paying that much

I love my phone weather it'll get cm7 put not... Many great roms are always there.....
Never thought that sgy is slow than others.....

Our phone has lots of developers no body knows what will happen.. but unfortunately there are always a limitation when i comes to phone "Skies the limit?" even skies has the limit? haha dont know what im saying but i know phones has a limit.. see Iphone 4s. vs. the new galaxy s3 quadcore.. but still the iphone wins..i dont know why? maybe because its popular i never read the article about these but im sure the consumer want apple than samsung.. what im saying is that we paid for a cheap lond end phone? although i get free because its a gift to me.. we dont expect like it will because just like a car not literaly but being in fast??performance?

there is no argument involved,
are'nt you sick of people creating threads like "When will CM7,9, my potato work?",
anyways,
i respect your opinion,
no one is obliged to do anything here,
its either you share or you wont,
simple as that,
there is no nonsense in wht i said,
its people who come here and act like the devs are obliged to make CM7,9 or make thier phone look like super alien tech device which is near impossibility,
i love my device,
but i know its a low end phone,
i educate myself with what my phone can and can't do,
that should be everyone's attitude,
to educate themselves out of ignorance about the capacities and limitations of what our device can give,
its either you stick with it or leave and get something better,
i always make criticisms in a constructive and decent manner,
i would never jump to conclusions before analyzing every aspect,
